What is your favorite looking Nintendo console?

Gamecube, followed closely by the NES... but really, almost every Nintendo system is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition in terms of aesthetic, as far as my tastes go. The Wii and Wii U are cribbing too much from the smooth, white Apple-style; give me a gaming console that isn't afraid to look like a gaming console instead of some sleek black nothing.

I had a purple one, but black and orange are both sharp looking systems (and importantly, the black one doesn't diminish the charm very much). That shade of orange in particular is so playful, it's almost begging to be called "sherbert" or "Creamcicle"

The Wii is a very suave console. The blue light at the entrance of the disc insertion chamber really accentuates the console's natural confidence and sophistication, especially when mounted vertically.

The Gamecube on the other hand is very cute. The cubic form in tandem with those miniature discs and the well-placed handle made for a design well worth cherishing.

I love the gamecube, very neat looking device, I had the black one but I liked that it was purple by default haha.

Honourable mention to the Wii U. I love how small it is and it really is just a Wii but with nice rounded off corners. Easily the best looking current console alongside the xbox one and the ps4 Imo.

1. Gamecube
2. Wii
3. NES

If Virtual Boy counts then that would be #2

Also, the top loader NES is possibly the worst console design ever. It and the Famicom are atrocious.

When I get rid of nostalgia they all are pretty terrible aside from Wii and Wii U. Love how compact they were. Switch is the only Nintendo portable that actually looks really nice, but I need to see it in person first

1.Orange spice gamecube
2.Nintendo 64
3.Super Famicom
4.Wii
5.Famicom(not the top loading garbage)
6.NES
7.Super NES
8.Wii U

The top 4 are in a class all their own.

GameCube is my clear favourite, second place goes to either EU/JP SNES or maybe the Nintendo 64.

I think the SNES system edges N64 out as it has a lot more personality in the actual console deck whereas most of N64s visual identity feels like it comes from the controller.

Such a shame how modern Nintendo console designs are so utterly boring, worst of all is the complete lack of colour. I hoped the new 3DS was a sign of some colour coming back but no, Switch is utterly monochrome.

Definitely Gamecube with PAL Super Famicom in second place.

I prefer the Spice Orange to the Purple though:

I loved this orange beauty. I had a purple one though :/

Nitendo fair pretty well really. The SFC is lovely, Wii still holds up. The original Famicom is kind of cute in a garish, ugly way. I always thought it looked like a Chinese knock-off.

US SNES is an abomination and NES isn't much better. Nintendo thinks the USA has no taste whatsoever.

1) GameCube, all colours, though I adored my black one in particular.

2) SNES. Well, the EU/JP one at least. The American one is fucking hideous.

3) N64, if only for the controller and the incredible range of transparent coloured ones.

I LOVE THE SNES.

It's probably the first console I ever laid my eyes on. Although I never bought it(being 5 yrs old and PS was the console that was being hyped up in my country so it was the one bought for me instead), I would constantly go to my friends house and ogle at the beauty.

When I got to play the games a few years down the line after saving up my lunch money and buying a used one, I regret not being to have it much earlier.

Oh and it was strangely called family computer in my country so I was confused where this snes came from.

I never got a Black Wii but I remember seeing a bunch of color mock-ups in Nintendo Power and thinking that the black Wii was the coolest thing in the world. I still think that.

The Wii is so fucking slick, and I'm a sucker for random strips of LEDs, so that. The Gamecube and N64 look like fisher price toys, and I grew up with those consoles.

Purple Gamecube is adorable. I once modded (gutted) a faulty unit and turned it into a little storage box for an ex gf. She didn't deserve it.

Super Famicom. I lived in Europe in it's heyday, and moved to the US... when I first saw the ugly US purple version I was like wtf is this

The Wii was slick as fuck, the Switch has pretty great design too.
