I'd rank them in this order ( as far as US Nintendo releases go)
1 - Wii. Sleek, minimalist, and the angle that "looks up". Elegant looking controllers.
2 - Switch. It looks like a "hi tech" gadget in portable mode - at least what we saw in the videos. I'd rate it above the Wii in portable mode and under the Wii in docked mode. It still looks good there, but the Wii beats it due to angles and not having a tablet sticking out a little. Since "docked mode" is the "console", Switch goes here.
3 - NES. Looks like a VCR from the 80s. Which helped it quite a bit - I like the look over the Famicom. The controllers are iconic but are basic rectangles - the SNES had better looking controllers.
4 - SNES. Looks like a game console. Pretty uninspired look, but doesn't offend either. The controller looks better than the NES though so it's close.
5 - N64. Looks like a game console as well, but a little more toy-ish. Also docked because of the controller, which is awful looking.
6 - Gamecube. Looks like a Fisher Price toy. This thing was DOA day 1 merely because of how it looked. While the controller is great gameplay wise, it looks weird and toy-ish as well - but still much, much better than #5 and #7's controllers.
7 - Wii U. Isolated by itself, it's an inoffensive box which should rank it higher. But the controller is the absolute worst - it's a huge unwieldy thick looking slab of plastic that thinks it looks like a tablet that doesn't even take advantage of its hugeness to have bigger controls for bigger hands. And the console itself looks so much like the Wii it caused massive confusion in the marketplace. Worst looking Nintendo console.
Now, not that I'm saying anything at all about how Switch will sell (assuming you can even count it as a console and not a hybrid) but I'm noticing a pattern with the other consoles.
