I don't use Ignore. I want to see all the shit. Even the infuriating posts. I feel like I'm sort of not doing myself any favours by self-censoring.

But. The times I am tempted to censor someone else from my sight is actually when they themselves mention their Ignore List. Like "oh now I remember why this guy is on my list." That attitude makes me want to add those folks to MY ignore list. Which of course is hypocritical.

Probably not even remotely a new topic on GAF but I would like to hear Ignore List rationalizations. I.e. I don't care they just piss me off, some people are not worth listening to for any reason, they offended me deeply etc.

(Checking now I do have one person on my list. I don't remember what they said but it must have been really heinous.)

I don't ignore people it's a forum. I have friends on GAF with like 30+ people on their ignore lists. If I started to really get that annoyed I would either leave GAF completely or ask myself some questions on why I am getting pissed at seemingly everyone, at that point it would most likely be me and not them.

i'm too lazy to use an ignore list. i also don't get mad over posts. there are dumb posters, but i don't have time to point out everyone's stupidity. so if i don't have time to belittle them, i just ignore them. without the use of a list.

I never use ignore features in other games or forums, either.

The only time I use it in MMORPGs is when there is a gold spammer or something.

I had 1 or 2 people on my list for years. But in the past few months I decided to just throw all the idiots on there. Right now I have 67 people on there. Feels good.

I'd definitely ignore way more people if there was a direct link to it from clicking a poster's name. Right now I have to go to public profile, click add to ignore list, then click yes.

Yeah, this is how I view it. It seems if someone is really that detrimental to the discussions on gaf they get banned. And if they don't learn they get perm'd.

I have never ignored anyone, so my hypothetical ignore list is empty and it will remain so. I don't mind people ignoring people left and right to their heart's content, though, as long as they don't go the "straight to my ignore list, buddy" route or something like that. That just rubs me the wrong way. If you're going to ignore someone, just ignore them.

I do it the same way I do on FB, if I see someone keep posting an annoying gif (or in our hey day, their AVATARS) or image(s), I definitely put him or her on block or ignore.
