What Nintendo 64 games had awesome OSTs?

The original Animal Forest/Animal Crossing is kind of just unrivaled in the space and lends so much personality to the game. One of the most remarkable parts is just how emotionally diverse the expansive music set is, so all the changing seasons and unique scenarios and encounters give off the appropriate vibe.

Also worth noting Totaka's work on Yoshi's Story.

The Rare games probably have the best soundtracks. I mean, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, the Banjo games, DK64, Conker, Diddy Kong Racing, Mickey's Speedway USA. All great soundtracks. Mickey's Speedway's OST is especially underrated. Always try my best to mention that game in these types of threads.

Nintendo's soundtracks were great too of course, particularly Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, Smash Bros, and the Zelda games, but Rare probably takes the cake.

How has no one said DK64? It has an amazing soundtrack.

It does have a great soundtrack. It's just that a lot of people hate the game, so the OST gets largely ignored. And some people even hate the soundtrack just for the fact that it's from DK64 (I'm looking at you, Toxi!).

How could I forget about Turok 2? Shame on me.
Quite ironic, considering T2 would probably the game I associate the most with it's OST. It fits its theme perfectly and every time I hear the port of Adia track, images of wandering through hallways, picking up all sorts of rectangles etc pop into my head. And somewhere in the distance, a child cries for help. Even though those sounds are not part of track itself, I can clearly hear them in my head. Scary stuff
So far no other game was able to evokes such a strong reaction in me

Seconded, and add Shooting Star Summit to the list. Might be some nostalgia talking, but damn, this is an atmospheric, relaxing tune.

Nothing beats Banjo, probably my favourite OST ever.

Nintendo: Shoutouts to Koji Kondo's use of the hardware (Mario 64, Star Fox 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask), as well as games like Wave Race 64, 1080 Snowboarding, F Zero X.

Rare: There's a lot to like here, happy to see DKR, GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark linked.

Third parties: My single standout would probably be Mystical Ninja 2 Starring Goemon, or Goemon's Great Adventure.

How do the soundtracks to the Pokémon Stadium games hold up? I remember them having good battle music.

Maybe it doesn't count since we're likely talking only NA titles, but Animal Crossing (that was on Gamecube here but N64 in Japan) has one of the greatest soundtracks ever for me. Pure nostalgia through soundwaves. The hourly music + all of K.K.'s songs are just sublime.

EDIT: Man, going through this thread, these are ALL games I own let alone played for years, and fuck does the N64 have some underrated OSTs. People always get all uppity about the 16-bit era soundtracks, but man the N64 had some bangers.

As far as third party soundtracks go, Toy Story 2 was also a great one. Although the sound quality was way better on the PS1 version and unfortunately the N64 version's OST hasn't been uploaded on YouTube for whatever reason.
