What PS3 games support in-game screenshots?

And is there a reason why this feature is rarely implemented/rarely advertised?

The only games I can think of right now are WipeoutHD, Noby Noby Boy, and Maichichi Issho. What others?

In case this thread already exists, doing a search yielded the following php memory error:

What games use the real screenshot function, that is, the one that's supposed to be visible under the XMB?

it really should be a more standard feature. i think console devs are still a bit scared of giving the end user so much control (the ability to take screenshots of bugs or whatever). i can't speak for PS3, but because custom firmware on PSP allows it with high compatibility, it seems like PSP could have the feature built in to the official firmware

Yeah, but unfortunately it's rescaled to a smaller resolution.

The one in LBP is pretty disgraceful. You could do so much more with that game if it had proper screenshots.

Off the top of my head, Maichichi Issho, MGS4, Resistance: Fall of Man, Noby Noby Boy, LBP (sorta), WipEout HD, flOw, and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift..

That's about all I know TBH, the only one I know to actually support it via an additional icon in the in-game XMB is noby boy, all the others are either in-game custom type of things or just snapshots directly saved on the HDD without additional editing.

I would love for moregames to include such a thing, but I guess it's too small of a feature for most devs to care/waste time on.

Can you even get the screenshots to load up on the EA servers, though? Every screen shot of mine doesn't load. :lol

And yeah, LBP's photo function kinda sucks. It was touted back in patch... 1.5 or something and it's teeny-tiny (like 100x150 pixels or there about). So lame. :/

You guys are confusing things. Games like Motorstorm 2 and LittleBigPlanet use their own screenshot feature in software. It's not the PS3 one like in Noby Noby Boy, MGS4 and Wipeout.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood supports screenshots via the XMB, but the game brings up the pause menu whenever we press the PS button so it's kinda useless...

Small spoilers:

When you play through the game, you'll come across "archive" items (like in Silent Hill 2, for example) that provide more background story etc. At one point you'll find a cell phone that apparently has some pictures stored in its memory. You can then choose to "save" the pics, and the next time you browse through your pictures in the XMB, you'll come across some random (real-life) pictures relating to the game's plot.

This really should be universal and seamless. Let me use a USB keyboard. Let me do it while the game is running. Let me assign my own hotkey. Momentary stutters will be understood and accepted.

Ghostbusters also supports XMB screenshots. Uh, woo?

It can look pretty good at times though.

Wow okay. I had not verify myself before posting. So there's only Noby Noby and maybe that Toro game that really uses it??

I'm actually looking for these features and lots of other data in my games (PS3 and PSN + shared PSN) and have big updated excel lists :lol I know it is my nerdy thing, leave me alone! :p

I just copy the list with three main (xmb)-features (music, screens, youtube).
For comparison/info, I will leave the games in that use none of these features, if you don't mind. It is not meant as list-warz.
