What the fuck, Sean Bean?

I saw Bean today in a 'Making of Game Of Thrones' segment on HBO today. He looked tired. I guess I can understand why now.

Well at least he's playing Ned Stark in the HBO Game of Thrones series
But going by the first book, that will only last one season

Good job bro. Having read the book or not it's pretty obvious what you're implying.

Fuck, I just read an end of book spoiler?

You idiot, learn how to spoiler something properly.

He never really amounted to anything after LOTR despite some attempts. Can't wait to see him on GOT though.
I don't fully understand this as Sean Bean was something before LOTR....

He shows up in a bunch of low-grade stuff. Bills got to get paid!
Exactly. Work is work.

It reminds me of a short interview I read with Ron Perlman. The interviewer asked him why he stars in so many cheesy direct to DVD films and the like. His response was to the effect of: "I am working on this shitty movie this week. Next month I work on this other shitty movie. Then the month after that I work on another shitty movie. But, hey, what can I say? My wife likes shoes."

My love for Perlman got reconfirmed with that. The same goes with Bean. I am still waiting for Bean to get some role that makes him HUGE across the world. When he was cast as Odysseus in "Troy" (a mediocre film if I ever saw one), I had visions of a completely badass adaptation of "The Odyssey" with Bean in the starring role. That would be a huge hit if done right, and the world would see Bean for the great (and sexy. I am a straight male and will say that I have a man crush on Bean, and not just because he spells Sean the same way I spell my name.

Hey if Al Pacino can star in possibly the worst commercial movie ever made (gigli), why the hell not.

The issue with Al Pacino and no DeNiro is not that they are in bad movies, but that they are phoning in all their performances now. They can be in bad movies and still act well, but DeNiro and Pacino cant even turn in a decent performance anymore.

What color is the boathouse in Hereford?
You just got ambushed by a f***ing cup if coffee!

I just watched that earlier today! Such an awesome movie, though Sean Bean is only in it for a few minutes. Best car chase in the history of cinema!

The Jack Ryan movie with Harrison Ford and Goldeneye were so boss.

He'll be forever known to me as Boromir. But still I'd like to see him play the bad guy again.

Worst CG tyre smoke though. Still, a fun movie, even if their ambush plan is shite.

Yea, he has a GREAT role in this actually. A solid 7 movie. Good.
It was a 4 for me, and that's only because I was amazed at how super-beefy Percy from Blackadder was. It just felt tacky and cornier than a field of corn, the 'hardened ne'er-do-wells' were hilarious though!

Getting stuck on location with these two sounds like a plan.

Besides, Bean's career has hit a neat little upswing lately with Black Death and GoT.

Exactly. He was already getting on a bit when he made LOTOR. Sharpe is his defining role and the one he was clearly born for.

He's over 50 now so it seems a bit odd to expect to have some sort of second renaissance as a Hollywood action star.
