What the **** happened to Off-topic forum?

What a heart exploding ending.

It was bullshit. The last penalty should have been redone. Uruguay got robbed!

I fully expect Mexico to get screwed in similar fashion tomorrow so that CONMEBOL can have their precious Argentina vs. Brazil final.

Poultry-age: should I go to the house of someone I don't know for chicken (and sex)?
make sure both the chicken and the host aren't half baked

I don't get the love for the new live action Transformers movie. The plot is bad comedy (oh hey puny meatbag, you touched my finger, let me burn a map onto your glasses), and the actual bad jokes got old after the first couple dozen times (after the movie was done and the credits started rolling, my theater cleared out even as the bad jokes kept coming). The real strength of the movie is simply in the massive amount of special effects being thrown at the screen, but they're wasted on hideously-designed piles of gray shrapnel punching each other and rolling around, and horribly incompetent directorial work (Bay can't even add subtitles to a movie without screwing that up). The automobiles were all shiny generic GM product placement after Bumblebee's "upgrade", Optimus can't afford a freaking trailer to haul around but he can afford to pimp himself out, and the movie doesn't even have a single decent car chase in it.

I can understand turning your brain off and enjoying the movie. I can understand not being critical of it. But where does this "greatest movie ever!" thing come from? Is it all just an exercise in reverse trolling?

I keep checking the OT cause theres nothing really happening in the gaming forum that I'm interested in. All I see is the same old blued out threads not moving :(

Hey, it's TIME-SKIP VIRAL!
Sweet! Have they shown anyone else like Grandpa?

Liverpool could still end up buying Babel for 11 million pounds even though they've signed benayoun. Please be true so I can laugh at lakitu.

Nope, for now they've only shown timeskip Viral. (where's my timeskip Sir Beamspam Attenborough McMuppet Gainax!?!)

Spoilers for ep 18:

Definitive translation of Gurren-Lagann 18 summary:
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
「Tell me of the Mysteries of this World」

Simon's concerns have hit home. In accordance with Spiral King Lord Genome's prediction, the moment the Above Ground human population reaches 1,000,000 an unidentified weapon appears. And then, Nia whom Simon tried to make his wife & whom Simon would have never expected declares war on Humankind. Simon somehow repels the enemy & wanders Kamina City looking for Nia. (Ep. 18)

I said "Holy Sh!t Batman"!

I'm really missing the OT forum for the first time in quite a while. This scaled-down E3 has been dull so far; there doesn't seem to be a lot to see, yet the forum is slowing down to like it was in the previous years past.

So this thread is the temporary conglomeration of the OT forum? I wonder how many different conversations/topics can be held at one time :D

why couldn't they make both forums accessible for members-only? :/
I think I read somewhere earlier in the thread that we're what causes all the load and visitors don't actually add much load. I don't understand this internet voodoo at all.

I didn't realize you could browse the Off topic forum by looking down on the bottom underneath the last post and click on OT. That has been said probably before.

24: Season 7 production delayed
Season 7 of 24 promises to be its most tense yet. At least on the set.

Execs at the Fox hit have scrapped virtually their entire story line for the season, delaying the start of production by roughly three weeks. According to sources, the 11th-hour time-out was called after the network put the kibosh on a costly plan to shoot a number of episodes in Africa. Producers briefly toyed with the idea of finding a location in Los Angeles that could sub for the continent, but they ultimately decided to ditch the whole concept and start over from scratch.

Although a 20th Century Fox spokesperson declined to comment, 24's expert scowler, Mary Lynn Rajskub, confirms that the clock for Day 7 has been reset. "I don't know what's going on over there, but they're going crazy," says the scene-stealer, who only learned last week that Chloe would even be returning. "We usually start [back up] at the end of July, and I don't think we're starting until a couple of weeks into August now. It's kind of exciting, because I think [the postponement] means that they're really having to dig in there and come up with new stuff."

The show's creative team was no doubt already feeling the pressure: Day 6 was considered to be about as explosive as a wet firecracker, so for Season 7 they really needed a plot that was incendiary. In fact, news of the setback comes on the same day the semiannual Television Week critics' poll (in which yours truly participated) named 24 the second worst show on TV, behind ABC's best-not-traveled October Road.

For more on 24's big rewrite — including what impact it'll have on plans to introduce the show's first female president — check out Ask Ausiello this Wednesday.

Good, this might give me more time to think of something to post for the Photography Assignment #16.
Yeah, me too. **** this shit I'm posting some photos. Anyway, I went to a boat yard on Cape Cod, and took some pictures. It's amazing; some of these looked like garbage in color but once I changed them to B&W they looked much better. Anyway:

Obviously I was thinking of the photography assignment; I'm still not sure which one I'm going to use but I'm leaning towards this one. Any advice?

This looks fantastic! HOLY ****! The suspense and uncertainty expressed in that short trailer was beyond awesome :O

Holy shit, that was an awesome trailer. I want me some more. I take it, its a film, right.

Its like Disaster: day of crises.:D :D

I always randomly go on the other side of the fence, and I always find the grass is so much greener. Its so much more interesting, yet I never make the effort to join in on discussions.

Sad really.

The OT rolled up in one single thread is kinda funky. Wondering where we were with Miyazaki. Also, I met a nice girl. Kobe here I come. And as contribution to the post pictures of yourself thingie, look, tis me!

This picture reminds me of something from a Jarmusch film.

This E3 does kinda suck. That MS conference was boring as shit. Sony and Wii better pull something out of their asses because they're still in their first years. If you don't have anything surprising to say in your first year, just shut down the factories and send the workers home.

I guess since were posting photos, here's some from a video game concert I went to last week

Since OT was sacrificed, here's some OT news

Bin Laden's son married a British woman, and wants to enter Britain. She is 51 yrs-old, he's 27 yrs-old. anything fishy going on here?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070711/ap_on_re_eu/britain_osama_marriage

LONDON - Omar bin Laden, the al-Qaida leader's fourth son, has married a British woman he met in Egypt last fall, British media and colleagues of the bride said Wednesday.

Jane Felix-Browne, 51, of Moulton-Cheshire, in northwest England, was in Egypt for medical treatment of multiple sclerosis, the Times and Sun newspapers reported. She told the newpapers she met bin Laden, 27, while riding a horse near Egypt's Great Pyramid.

The couple has held Islamic marriage ceremonies in both Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Felix-Browne said.

Felix-Browne was hoping to arrange a visa for her new husband to visit Britain, but acknowledged it would be difficult.

"Because my husband's name is bin Laden he finds it very difficult to travel anywhere," she told The Sun.

This would be her sixth marriage, and she has three children by previous marriages. It would be Omar bin Laden's second marriage.

"I just married the man I fell in love with — to me he's just Omar," she told The Times. "I hope people will take a step back and think what it is like when they fell in love."

Her father-in-law is Osama bin Laden, who remains in hiding nearly six years after his al-Qaida terror network carried out the Sept. 11 attacks.

She said Omar last saw his father in 2000 when they were both in Afghanistan, Felix-Browne said. "He left his father because he did not feel it was right to fight or to be in an army. Omar was training to be a soldier and he was only 19."

She divides her time between her homes in northern England and Jedda, Saudi Arabia.

I miss me OT friends. I feel like we got shoved in a closet when some guests came over, as not to embarass them.

So where were we in the Miyazaki movie-off? What got booted last?

We were at the final 3. Mononoke/Totoro/Spirited Away. When it comes back, I'll count em up, and then give it an extra day for this round.

she kinda looks like a guy, no offence meant (except if the picture has nothing to do with the fact that you met a girl)
