Damn, Blim! You are on turbo mode right now! Thanks.
Yeah well, I'm paying the internet link where I am here each 15 minutes, so I want to be quick that's for sure :p
GOW footage to follow, then I'm heading back to the hotel.

Jesus, GoW looks good. MGS4 looks good. RE5 looks good. DMC4 looks good. They all look about on par visually with each other. Let's see how they animate, but it's all artistic choices and we could argue this until Hell freezes over.

Personally, the amount of bloom lighting in GoW bothers me, but it isn't that big of a deal. I'm interested to see MGS4 in motion since Kojima said they were concentrating on physics, not graphics. GoW will hopefully have its animation cleaned up before release. The sad thing is that you have to have both systems to get all these games, and that will cost around $1000 before all is said and done.

This thread is off the "let's be rationale" train. It's now on the "fuck you die mother fucker" train.

To be on-topic. Is that cartoon-looky game actually on the 360? Okay, that deserves a set of :lol :lol :lol

yeah The Outfit friggen rocked.
thanks again Blim, you rock.

too bad RR6 wasnt shown.... guess we'll have to wait another day or two.....sigh...

:lol i think the idea was to present similar shots, ie, human faces!

So that make Xbox 360 more powerful since it can generate a better looking monster than MGS4 can?

Different games have different parts that it focuses on. It's comparing HL2 to Doom 3. Most people thought Doom 3 was the better looking game until they actually played both games.

Ok, why is it that everyone seems to post RE5 pics to compare w/ MGS4? First off, IMO, otacon destroys the RE5 shots in terms of lighting and the modelling seems to be even. The hair on otacon is also >> RE5.

Having said all that, it is hillarious that the xbots keep posting what is most likely either CG or the ps3 rev to combat MGS 4 shots. Lets not forget RE5 was first shown off at.... you guessed it, the SONY/PS3 press conf. No one outside of capcom knows if it was cg, ps3, or x360. What is well known is that companies use the best quality build footage to show off multi-platform games, and we ALL (even the ones in denial) know which build that is... don't we now?? hehe

hit: the PS3 build ;p

While improved over the E3 build, I'm still not impressed by Dead Rising. Kameo, N3, Heavenly Sword and others maintain a similar scale while having more detailed graphics. And it looks like it would be awfully repetitive after 10 minutes of play.

frame city looks (dare i say it?) hot.

EDIT: "Gears of War presentation. Sorry about the quality. Nothing really new there anyway.
http://www.xboxyde.com/leech_1667_1_en.html"

wrong link i think. just getting the tgs trailer video with everything but gears of war

Holy crap, there is almost nothing exciting in that 360 video.

And what the FUCK did they do to Bomberman?

I thought RR6 and other stuff are tomorrow and the day after that?

I think that's unlikely considering the purpose of the conference was to give all the details about the Xbox360 launch in Japan and its games. It would be stupid not to show one of their most important title at the conference if they had a trailer.
By the way if RR6 doesn't show up at TGS it means it's really in an unplayable status which surprises me considering the game it's out in 2 months.

Don't worry, you'll see RR6. Playable at TGS.
Also, don't worry. This is not "all" Microsoft has to show.

Lol. Neither :p
RR6 was nowhere to be seen at the press conference. Go figure.

Hello BlimBlim...I know you did not see any RR6 footage, but did you at least talk to anyone there who may have already seen it? Y'know...like anyone with any inside connections? If so, what did they say about it?

I'm sorry it's just that I am having a hard time not killing myself, knowing I will now have to wait another 24 hours before seeing footage of what is going to be the greatest videogame in the history of the industry.

I can see the Japanese going for those...

Now I haven't been keeping up, but Dynasty Warriors 4??

Is there anything I can do to make it easier... Im more than happy to send cyanide, or whatever other implements you need to make sure I don't have to endure another thread killing fanboy flipout from you.

They told me the game sucked so much they did not want to show it at the press conference.
Sorry.

If you did not kill yourself yet, it was a joke :p I won't see anyone from MS until tomorrow so I can't tell you more.

What a shock, people disapointed by a pre-show conference :lol when will you learn?! If it was that big, we'd already know! (Especially MS' stuff)

N3 looks cool, DW but with a proper draw distance and bodies that dont disapear..the only remaining test is whether or not it has the combat variety of DW (dozens of upgradable combos per character) or KUF (two buttons that do everything your character can do).

As someone who distinctly remembers this forum completely overlooking GTA3 and griping about it's framerate and collision detection problems in the weeks and months preceding it's launch let me say once again that Dead Rising looks incredibly fun. I don't know for certain if it's possible to see "fun" in screenshots, but for some strange reason I simply cannot wait to get inside of that sandbox of a mall and start having some fun killing zombies in lots of strange bloody imaginative ways.

Sometimes I wish people here could remember that the next big game won't be the next big game simply because the main character had the best rendered beard stubble of all next-gen games. Looking back it's obvious to me that GTA3 should have gotten the hype that MGS2 got and not the other way around. Is it possible to not make the same mistake again?

besides, dead rising looks very good in some of the latest screens

I thought the megaton (or was it superton..?) was delayed and will be revealed in the 1st or 2nd day of TGS? Though the cheaper single sku thing sounds like a 'superton.'

...it's "really good" for Japanese Xbox fans.
...it's a "superton", not a "megaton".
...che considers RE5 360 exclusive would be a "megaton." For reference, "superton" is less than a "megaton."
...che is surprised that Microsoft is not fucking shit up in Japan
...che says Microsoft is still going to get trounced at TGS, though. "the second the scans came out it was over."

Im with ya there, I think it'll surprise some folk. Who gives a shit if you can count the polys on the zombies if they're able to sacrafice complexity for interactivity and gameplay. Im getting tired of the "5000 enemies" schtick already but this looks like it may actually do something constructive and fun with it. I was sold once the main character started beating the shit out of the undead with a lawnmower. The good ol' beat 'em up genre might finally see a bit of an evolution.

Nah, despite the cooky storyline MGS2 deserved all the hype it deserved as a visual/gameplay package. For better and worser its one of the most memorable games of the generation.
