Someone asked me in the last thread, but I'll say it here: don't worry about any "missed years." I'm just skipping around because I want to skip around, but everything through at least 91 or 92 will be covered in this series. =)

I skipped to 2011 as I think it was a ton of fun and actually brought me back into gaming regularly. Hope you enjoy looking back and thinking about what was your favorite game then, and if that favorite has changed over time.

Arkham City. Greatest superhero game of all time and one of the best games i've ever played.
Edit: Just realized 4 of my favorite games ever (Arkham City, Uncharted 3 , Portal 2 , Marvel vs Capcom 3 ) came out in 2011. What an amazing year 2011 was .

Fuck me that's a good year. ME2 I think, but there's like a dozen good options.

Shoutout to Anomaly: Warzone Earth.

Can we count ME2 as a 2011 title? Ps3 port came out in '11 but it's a '10 release.

Resistance 3, and it's not even close. One of the greatest shooters of all time, and possibly the most underrated game ever as well.

Also, without wanting to threadwhine, do we really count late ports? I mean if that's the case then Resident Evil 4 would win GOTY for 2005,2006, 2007, 2011 and 2016.

2011 was great, my other favorites from the OP were: Skyward Sword, Portal 2, Catherine, Uncharted 3, Dead Space 2, To The Moon, Layton 4, Ghost Trick.

Rayman Origins, but there are a ridiculous amount of games on that list that are some of my favourites of all time (Portal 2, Catherine, Yakuza 4, Mario Kart 7, Deathspank, etc.)

EDIT: fuck I played so much Mario Kart 7 and it's probably my favorite one... and I can't admit I still play MW3 sometimes. Good year! Wii definitely was lacking for titles though I did enjoy Kirby a bunch.

Portal 2, easy. Last hurrah of the Valve singleplayer campaign, which was fantastic, and a great coop mode to boot.

The Witcher 2 was not only my favorite game of the year but is still my favorite western RPG of all time, even over 3. I honestly can't decide if it's my favorite game of all time or not, but it's in the running. Apart from that I did really enjoy Skyrim, and Kingdoms of Amalur was better than people gave it credit for. The worst thing KoA did was release close to Skyrim; that utterly killed it.

Edit: Yakuza 4 was 2011 as well? Damn, 2011 was a fucking rad year for games.

Out of these I've played Arkham City, Beyond Good and Evil HD, Catherine, Pokémon Black, Rayman Origins and Uncharted 3 to completion. Not sure what I can say my favorite out of these is. It's definitely not Uncharted 3.

I just rented MvC3 for a couple days. If that list is right the Ultimate edition came out the same year!?
