Haha, I seriously doubt you'll buy Microsoft's console even if they announce 12 exclusives and 6 new IPs.....vs (hypothetically) Sony showing 5 exclusives and 3 new IPs.

I'd bet you still get the PS4....and not a 720.

It's not really a big deal to me if the next Xbox comes in weaker or stronger than the PS4. I'm still going to buy both but definitely the next Xbox day 1. The reason I'm going to get it day 1 is because I still love XBL. All of my friends and family are on XBL so that's the biggest selling point for sure. I also am a die hard Halo fan so there's that.

I for one don't like the focus on Kinect, or that the dashboard looks like an ad flyer. I'm sort of expecting more along those lines, and that's on MS.

What focus on Kinect?? It sold like crazy so they are obviously going to include it. Nowhere have they said "This next Xbox is all about the Kinect."

If the rumored specs really are from Feb 2012.. then there probably is some wiggle room to improve performance. I don't think it will trump PS4 on the memory/gpu side of things though. I think that both will end up being quite close to each other again.

I enjoyed Forza. I really enjoyed Forza Horizon. I did not enjoy Halo or Gears of War. Or Kinect. I can't think of any other MS exclusives, so given their past performance I doubt I'll be buying the Django to simply play Forza.

You and most people seem to believe MS has given up on gaming, simple because they expanded their focus. Like growing means taking resources away from hardcore. Other than Rare, there is no proof of that.

But seriously I't all about dem Halo's for moi, and my friends are not likely to make the switch, so all the better for me.

I may pick up a PS4 after the initial price cut and if there are no stupid functionality issues like with PS3. (looks good from what little I've seen so far)

Don't put words in my mouth. I never said Microsoft had given up on gaming. I did say they are focusing less on it, there is a difference.

Well, as they have put more focus on apps, Kinect and ads, there has been less focus on gaming. So...

I am not sure it matters which is more powerful. Will we really be able to see the difference between multi platform games? I think any differences will be small and unless you are running them side by side most reasonable people just will not care.

Exactly, but as much as I love Forza, I'm not sure if it's enough to make me buy a xbox this generation. I just don't see any other good exclusives coming from microsoft.

I'm thinking back to when the PSOne was released, Sony bought Psygnosis and did some other deals to make sure they would have good exclusives for their system. Why doesn't microsoft do this, they probably have enough money.

As of now the nextbox isn't looking too attractive honestly.
With the announced 8gb ddr5 for ps4, its specs are not a case of 'different strengths' anymore, and with the architecture being somewhat similar I think even multiplatform games will look/run best on ps this time.
Plus there's this always online/no used games rumors madness and at this point I'm sure there's some truth to those.
If the rumours are to be believed, old peripherals won't work either (fanatec..)and I can't imagine other features making me change my mind completely.
Forza5, pgr5, I'm afraid I'll miss you...

Well that alone isn't what I'd base my purchase on.

There's way more things that would way on my decision than that. Perhaps even if it was insanely different, like 50% more powerful.

Whether its kinect focused and whether it still doesn't work in normal rooms being one such thing.

I have a PC for power (once I upgrade the GPU), so that isn't going to change my position thus far on the PS4 being ahead of the Durango.

However, a strong showing of games that distinguish themselves outside of the visuals, an inclusion of software features that impress me more than Sony's, and a superior pay-to-receive ratio may change my mind.

They'd have to make all of XBL Gold's offerings available for Silver members for any new xboxes to be on my radar. Instead I expect them to flood us with microsoft points in odd denominations and casual kinect party games.

I think i'm going to get an occulus rift this year instead of a console. Sony games never interested me and the wii u is meh (prob will buy it after kart and smash come out tho) and I can wait till next year on the xbox if its worth grabing

Same thing I've done for Wii U - purchase the system if it will have exclusive games that I want.

Why not wait until it DOES have exclusive games you want? You may be able to take advantage of a few price drops in between.
