I like a lot of different kinds of movies; the only genre I strongly dislike is horror/that torture porn shit. I can do thriller style horror movies, though.

Most of my favorite movies are stereotypical man-movies. Bloodsport, Predator, Aliens, Terminator, T2, etc etc.

I don't like romcoms because I'm high on testicle juice and low on birth canals.

Do like anime because I'm high on cholesterol and low on women.

And I love trashy B movies because I'm high

:messenger_grinning_squinting: :messenger_grinning_squinting: :messenger_grinning_squinting: You fucking killed me with that line.

sadly my range of movies doesn't quite fit into these pointers... i went through the 'high quality' phase... but these days i just rewatch ghibli, kurosawa, 90s john grisham adaptations, tv shows like dalziel and pascoe, or star trek TNG, documentaries, iron chef... aside from all of them being intensely nostalgic experiences i'm all over the damn place i dunno what that says about me

I dunno, I don't think those are all over the place that much.

I watch a deeply contradictory mix of critically acclaimed stuff and esoterica, and absolute B-Movie trash.

Isn't that all the same thing? :messenger_beermugs:

Indiana Jones movies
Star Wars
Aliens
Poltergeist
Goonies
Labyrinth
Dark Crystal
Neverending Story
Airplane!

I dunno what this says about me. Boring?

On one hand, I guess it's kinda true for me. My angsty, past self would have definitely wished horror movies were real so that the world would just end. I'm still waiting for that zombie virus, China!

On the other, this is still too simplistic in my opinion. Like say, where would One Cut of the Dead fit?

Star Wars 1977
Terminator 1984
Dark Knight 2008
Bourne 2016
Halloween 2018

I don’t really care what that says about me

Weirdly I think Horror movies have made me more prepared for this year, if that makes sense? As someone who mostly only watches Horror films, I feel surprised about less. I watched Contagion as well before all the Covid stuff hit, and I was just like "Well shit." I guess that's more of a thriller though, with horror elements about it.

It is crazy how accurate Contagion was in a lot of ways.

My disbelief is easy to suspense so I always tend to like fantasies and action while watching them the first time. However, I do tend to watch how others review it and reveal that something doesn't make sense or that I was understanding the situation completely wrong. however, my favourites are actually very thematic movies that I'm not smart enough to understand. I watch or read how others interpret it then rewatch it again so I can fully appreciate it... of course I mean movies that I watch off of streaming services. Going to the theatre twice is never economical for me.

Maybe you’re well-rounded if you like a bunch of them?

I’m definitely not into crime or sports movies, though. Not for the cited reasons — they’re just boring. On the first, depressing, full of themselves, and always starring Robert De Niro or Al Pacino, and the sports is just literally the same story about triumphing against adversity, over and over again.

You’re missing out if you never watched Baseketball.
