Whatcha Been Playin': April Showers Edition

Ghost Trick on IOS; unbelievably fun experience.
Modern Warfare 3; new maps are fantastic... this continues to be my favorite online multiplayer game of all time.
Mass Effect 3; 26 hours in and still enjoying every second of it. Personally I think Gerstmann was wrong saying ME 2 is the better game.

Plants vs. Zombies VITA Edition

MLB 2K12 -- Baseball season has got me back into the videogames. I would have gotten MLB: The Show, but I only have access to my 360 right now. It does it's job.

Syndicate -- Got a copy of this for cheap and I have to say, it is better than I was expecting it to be.

Schoolwork -- It ain't easy to graduate man

Question: Is Darksiders worth picking up for $5 on the PC?

Final Fantasy IV complete on Vita - I've played through a couple times before on SNES and PSX, but this version looks really nice, idk if I'll play any of the after years stuff yet.

Motorstorm: Pacific Rift on PS3 - got it for cheap, and it turns out that its really fun, its my first motorstorm game that I've played

Ys Oath in Felghana on PC - Fun game, I think I'm pretty close to the end, I should try and finish it this weekend.

Still playing Mass Effect 3 and Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions. Haven't had much time to play either this week since class work has been kicking my butt, but that should change next week. Hoping to finish ME3 before the new ending DLC whatever comes out.

This. Fucking. Game. I feel like I should played this game a lot earlier, although avoiding a lot of the bugs is nice. Once I installed a few mods (only the essentials), it got even better. It felt a little too linear at first, but that changed once I got to The Strip. It will feel even more open once I can reliably deal with Deathclaws. I've decided to side with the NCR, but my character is pretty much a "don't question my methods" kind of person. For example,
sleeping with Benny and killing him in his sleep was easily my favorite way to complete a quest so far
. I've got Cass tagging along, and that has made for some hilarious moments. She's not as good as Boone at killing, but at least she lets me get some shots in.

Inazuma Eleven 2 I kind of regret paying full price for it. No real improvement to gameplay (I heard it shows more in multiplayer, but hey no online mode :/) and I didnt have anymore the craving for a Captain Tsubasa-like game that i had when I played the first Inazuma, so going through the story/gibberish aimed at 8 years old kids was far more painful this time around.

Decided to restart my save file, since I'm waiting for Prototype 2. Bought all of the DLC for it. Kind of disappointed that I couldn't
keep my super powers
.

Will be trying out DC Universe Online later today as well.

Mount & Blade: Warband

I'm addicted. But I will rule Calradia...as soon as I learn how to manage my money better.

Kid Icarus: Uprising. This game is amazing. I'm near the end but I can't resist return to old levels to pass them on 9.0 difficulty. And the online is addictive, I prefer the FFA mode. I can't see this game getting off my 3DS for a long time.

images

FE: Sacred Stones. It's been good so far, and it was free thanks to the Ambassador Program (:

images

Final Fantasy IX. I planned to get this game done by today but I'm still on Disc 2. It's been amazing so far, but I think it's dragging on too much. Still, I definitely see myself completing it.

Those are my main things right now. I'm planning on getting Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time soon, it looks like a fun game.

Tales of Phantasia PS1, which a fellow gafer sold me a while back, and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (finally.)
Tempted to get Legend of Grimrock this weekend though, and if I do I may not play those above... XD

Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS) - Loving this game. Almost done with the single player and then will come back for the multiplayer after a little break.
Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) - Still in the beginning but it's amazing so far.
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii) - I believe I'm finally at the end now. Should be able to finish this up this weekend.
Star Wars: The Old Republic (PC) - Okay. Glad I didn't pay full price for it though but won't continuing after my time ends at the end of April.

Seriously considering reinstalling World of Warcraft (I have up to the Cataclysm expansion but never finished those zones on my Paladin) or Star Trek Online as I won't be continuing with The Old Republic after April. I have to admit I sort of miss WoW and that will patch quicker then Everquest 2 if I reinstalled that I think (that seems to just want to stream).

Been Playing the Heck out of NWN2

Despite how bad everyone says it is I'm enjoying the Main Campaign alot more then I had expected to.
I am using the Companion and Monster AI 2.2 mod which add's a ton of scripting that fixed everything that was frustrating me when I started..tho its buggy sometimes.

Having the ability to set autopause and switch control to casters on their turn, while leaving the Tank on realtime movement, with auto attack AI makes the game so much better.
As well as the simple ability to set which weapons are the AI weapon and OFF hand and which is the AI ranged weapon and having the Character switch between them depending on the distance to enemy...fantastic improvements.

Finished up ME3

Now playing Kingdoms of Amalur (bought day 1, but now getting back to it after Me3). Its good, but I don't find it particularly compelling.

Waiting for Dragon's Dogma.

iPhone/iPad: Hero Academy

3DS: OOT, Mario 3D

Beat Mario 3D going for all stars in the special world, and will probably finish OOT3D today.

Tales of Graces f
-Typical Tales, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

The Last Remnant (PC)

-FINALLY got around the playing this on PC. This may be my favorite game of all time and I'm not even joking.

Trying to finish up Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Also playing a little Street Fighter X Tekken on the side.

On the handheld side, balancing Devil Survivor 2 and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, making slow progress in both.

Burnout Paradise (PS3) - Working on trophies.

bREjR.jpg

Uncharted 3 (PS3) - Might get a little time in to try out the new patch and DLC.

vj8yK.jpg

Battlefield 3 (PS3) - If I'm not too busy. Currently at level 30.

Silent Hill 2 - I've never played the Silent Hill games. I'm not very far into it yet but it's already creeping me the hell out.

Crysis, Warhead, and Crysis 2 - I'm running through the entire series again with different mods. The announcement of 3 was probably what gave me the itch.

Skyrim - 63 hours in and I still have to finish the main quest, thieve's guild, and dark brotherhood. There will probably be some massive DLC released by the time I finish all of that.

Syberia - I got back into adventure gaming a little bit and I've never played the Syberia games. Still fairly early on but I'm enjoying it so far.

Serious Sam 3 - I've been getting my kiester handed to me at this one part when being overwhelmed by a ridiculous amount of baddies while waiting for a chopper or something.

Hard Reset - I picked this up in some indie bundle for $5 recently. Pretty fun game. A boss is kinda kickin my bum. Probably should have bought that homing rocket upgrade.

sometimes i think i try to juggle too many games.

Tried Katawa Shoujo (PC) out of curiosity and was smitten very quickly. Never played a VN before, but I found KS strangely addictive. Was really attached to these characters and their stories. One of the more entertaining things I've played this year, which I totally did not expect, but I love it when that happens. Also playing through Serious Sam 3: BFE (PC) with a friend. I feel like it's a tad bit easier, thus a tad less interesting, with help. Still, it's one of my top favorite shooters ever. Game is ham.

Nothing much, just some short Cubic Ninja sessions. Game is entertaining, if shallow.

Tried to play Giftpia with the online translation but it's not translated 100% (maybe 70%), so it feels like playing with a guide. Quickly abandoned. Hope the Captain Rainbow one is better, which I imagine it will since the text will be hacked in.

Started with LostWinds but haven't played much.

Right now it's this.

Also playing this game on and off.

When I am done with Ys II, I'll jump right on Ao no Kiseki (only finished prologue).

PS3- Bioshock 2 (just about to finish this game up)
MLB the show 2012 (Always playing this)

WII- Xenoblade (only about a hour in, hope I like it, I wanna spend some serious time with this)

Vita- hot shots golf (my go to game about 120 rounds played total, not much compared to some on gaf)

iOS- Bug princess (can't get enough of this game, really trying to 1cc it. Any sites out there that offer tips?)
(and as always a shit ton of ios games just jumping in and out of)

Skullgirls has absolutely met expectations for me. Beat Story Mode with every character this week, am hoping super hard that the game does well enough to let the dev team make all the DLC stuff they had tentative plans for.

My preorder of Xenoblade hasn't arrived yet. I'll probably get to talk about it more in next week's thread.

Tales of Graces F
Mario 3D Land
Hero Academy

I got a bunch of PC DD games from recent sales I'm going to start plowing through, soon. Mafia II and Deus Ex most notably.

I've heard this is very similar in FFXI in playstyle. Is that true and is if the offline version of FFXI I've been waiting for?

I'd say it's probably the open-world game with the most in common with FFXI, right down to the insanely janky quest system!

But no, it really is the closest, what with the skill chain systems, and the exploration style and trollfully placed NMs and the general vibe to it. I have some qualms with it, but it's really a lot more of what I expected (and wanted) FFXII to be, even if it falls annoyingly short in a few areas.

I'm hoping Monolith can reiterate and improve upon it, but it's a Japanese RPG, so that usually means the baby goes out with the bathwater.

Going to try and finish Fatal Frame IV thus completing my console backlog.

Still drowning in 3DS/DS/PSP games though.

Probably spend the weekend playing Seventh Cross Evolution for Dreamcast when not playing Fatal Frame.

Just finished Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

bought it over a year ago and played about 5 hours and hated it; glad i left it, i enjoyed it, nowhere near as much as AC2, but i'm glad i played it, seeing the screens of AC3 made me want to get back into it

Also recently finished Vanquish and the main story in skyrim (after 80 hours)

going back to Mass Effect 2 to finish it now

Cave Story +

How could I forget this game? It's weird and quirky, and for some reason I expected the game play to be a bit more polished. Hitting the spikes for an insta death is not fun. The story is weird too, but I expect a massive info dump somewhere in the game that explains what the war was.
