I've still got some missions to complete in Assassin's Creed 2, but I'm enjoying Brotherhood's multiplayer when I get time. Also just felt like replaying the Uncharted series.
Haven't picked up Dark Dawn or Epic Mickey, though. Both are on my list for Christmas instead. Are they any good, GAF?
way too much, I've splurged over the last month and now I have more games than I have time to play
I'm still playing Hot Pursuit. Great racing game, I'll probably be spending more time in the Online mode now. I'm just over halfway through Dead Nation, the excellent PSN zombie murder game. Still plugging away at Sly Cooper 2: Band of Thieves.
I still have barely touched Super Mario Galaxy 2. I know the game is going to be incredible, but for some reason I feel the urge to save it for the right moment.
oh yeah and I'm back into Ocarina of Time (VC), it's just as grand as the first time I played it.
Freespace 2 - Oh shit why didn't i play this earlier. So so awesome. Forza 3 - Playing this while i wait for GT5 Super meat boy (PC) - GOTY contender World of warcraft - Doing quests there and there while i wait for cataclysm Donkey kong country returns - Almost finished with this.
I bought a copy of Wind Waker after selling my GameCube back in 2007. At the moment I'm at Dragon Roast Island, I love this games' audio-visuals and the writing is funny as hell. It's marvels in its own cartoonyness.
I've also been playing A LOT of Steam games. Left 4 Dead 2, Dawn of War II, Burnout Paradise and a bunch of other stuff. Crazy sales I like. I'm also trying to finish Batman Arkham Asylum.
13 hours in and I'm really liking it so far. The quests are pretty crappy and the writing sucks (no voice acting) but the gameplay more than makes up for it. I don't think I'm playing it right though, it seems like I'm having to cheat the game a lot by out-maneuvering monsters on the overworld in order to avoid a lot of battles that I feel wouldn't be to my benefit to fight since the losses I would take would more than outweigh any xp or gold I would get.
Another problem is I'm running around with over 100k and there's nothing worthwhile to spend it on. I just got to the Freedom Islands where most enemies are stronger than me and the motherfuckers are still trying to sell me seadogs and shit! I've already bought all the knights and I even bought those 4 horsemen but let them die eventually since only having 4 horsemen is a waste of a slot. I'm still getting along in the game fine but it feels more like I'm stumbling through the game.
My final studio critiques are next week, so this is the only game I'll be playing all weekend I may try and squeeze in a few rounds of Bad Company 2, but at the moment that's pretty much wishful thinking.
All the GT5 talk made me want to play a racer. Say what you will about the two, Forza 3 is an amazing, amazing game that any racer fan who doesn't own a PS3 must have.
Was trying to get some coop Borderlands going but I'm not sure if that's gonna work out. BLOPS will have to do for now.
Fallout New Vegas (PC) Just started, Level 7 so far. Not as good as Fallout 3 but certainly not bad. Call of Duty Black Ops(PC) Multiplayer, FFA, Prestige Level 1, rank 25. Still fun after 40 hours, yay. Dead Space(PS3) Tis the season... for another playthrough! Dead Rising 2(360) One last playthrough before Case West shows up.
I continue to enjoy this game's art direction and music, although I'm also being reminded of the fact that I'm pretty terrible at adventure game puzzles. I spend more time in the key minigame than I should : /
Assassin's Creed 2
This is the first time I've dabbled in this series, and I'm really loving it so far. The cityscapes themselves are gorgeous, and general traversal is really enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised by just how much of a platformer game this turned out to be; the tomb sections in particular are a treat. Although it was to be expected, Jesper Kyd's soundtrack is very enjoyable.
So, so good. I've hit a bit of a wall at around 1,700,000 points in the 5 minute score attack mode (Championship II), but I keep going back for more.
The levels in this game become much more enjoyable through additional runs, as the wisp powers begin to open up some really clever deviations and detours. Attempting to S-rank all of the levels is pretty addicting.
Seem to have more to play than I have time to play it (thanks steam sales) at the moment but this weekend I will be playing:
Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead - Really enjoying this at the moment. I wasn't very keen on Arma 2s campaign and didn't get very far into it but this one seems much better so far. Time just seems to disappear when doing the longer missions though and before I know it I've been playing for hours. Both a good and a bad thing.
Donkey Kong Country Returns - Just got this and played up to mid world 2. Seems pretty damn good so far! Love the way it looks and plays. Goddamn at the amount of hidden stuff in each level. Can't say the mandatory waggle is bothering me at all yet.
GT5 - Getting a little burnt out on this after playing it so much last week. Surprised at how much b-spec I've done. Its actually quite addictive in it's own way and I like to set up races to run while I'm off doing other things. Dat money!
Also will be playing in small doses Super Meat Boy on the pc and maybe the new Trials DLC if I get round to it.
Going through my backlog. Really should have gotten to this sooner. Still early in the game, but so far it's been a blast to play. Neku is kind of annoying though. Hopefully they flesh out his character to be more then an annoying douchebag.
Running through the PC versions of Blur and Borderlands after having nearly finished the 360 versions earlier this year. Perfect 'pick up and play for 30 minutes at a time' games.
Very early on in Cities XL 2011. New to the series, I'm half impressed and half disappointed so far. It seems very deep, nice looking, too, but the menus are kludgy and ugly. A big thing to try and work around in a city builder game.
Played through about half of the first King's Quest with my GF the other night, having a great time racking our memories in trying to remember how to solve these puzzles again for the first time in 25 years. She remembered way more than I did.
Vanquish - Done with all the do that/find that achievements and my ass is ready for God Hard - such a fuckin' amazing game and quite possibly my GOTY.
Super Meat Boy - Finished the Bandage Girl world today and planning to start fighting the Dark World, I love this game so much.
Deadly Premonition - I'll start this one tomorrow...and from what I've seen it looks really really weird.
Wii:
Donkey Kong Country Returns - I'm on the 5th world and I'm still undecided on whether I like this game or not..I feel that the game is too based on trial & error and the shitty checkpoints don't help either.
Goldeneye 007 - I expected another bad Bond game and I'm playing a great SP FPS - on 007 Classic the game is awesome.
Brutus armor was pretty disappointing. The armor of Altair still blows it out the water and looks more bad ass. The Brutus armor looks primitive and makes Ezio look like War from Darksiders.
Back on topic. My current rotation (mostly digital dis. overload):
AC: Brotherhood- I beat the game, so at this point, I gotta replay 3 Romulus shrines to collect the 8 flags that I'm missing and finish finding and solving the Subject 16 puzzles and I'm done with the SP achievements. I'm gonna put some more time into the MP now.
Splosion Man- I got on the Black Friday special. It's a pretty good game. Platforming's pretty good and every stage always throws something new in and boss fights. The donuts song is stuck in my head now and I'm occassionally singing it aloud.
Trials HD- I thought it was gonna be a frustrating game (although it's mostly trial and error), but it's surprisingly good at 400 MSP and I got the add on for 240 MSP on Black Friday too. It's very exhilarating and it reminds me of Excite Bike and similar games like that. I'm currently trying to get through the Medium trials and attempting the Hard ones. Nice game though and it's fun to try to beat friends' records.
TMNT: TiT Reshelled- At 2 bucks, it's pretty decent although I miss the original game's music (I own and played the SNES version) as well as the original bosses (lack of Bebop and Rocksteady sucks balls, although I understand that Konami owns the rights to the original source code among other things). It kind of blows that they didn't include the original version in it as well although again, I understand why. At least it looks pretty.
Splinter Cell: Conviction- I got it on Black Friday for 17 bucks and beat on both Normal and Realistic within the first two days of getting it last weekend. It's a pretty short game with a little bit too much emphasis on firefights but it was pretty good. The melee executions and multiple ways to go about the stages were the highlight for me. The story was cool although I hadn't played a SC game since SC1. I still need to mop op PEC Challenges and collect and upgrade the rest of the weapons among other things. I'm surprised to see that this game's online community is still alive, so that's pretty cool as I plan on plowing through the co-op mode and the other modes so I may have to play with a random for that, although I'm planning on going through it on splitscreen co-op with my brother.
I may get back into some Resonance of Fate at some point to level grind until I can get through Neverland and farm hexes for terminals and plow through the Coliseum but that's it for me. EDIT: And Deadly Premonition is fantastic. It's one my personal GOTY's I hope you enjoy it Feindflug despite it's flaws with combat being the worst offender, but it's still better than a lot of games this year and for 20 bucks you're gonna get your money's worth.
Going through my backlog. Really should have gotten to this sooner. Still early in the game, but so far it's been a blast to play. Neku is kind of annoying though. Hopefully they flesh out his character to be more then an annoying douchebag.
I've just finished inFamous. Pretty cool game, bit frustrating on Hard difficulty but that final twist is great. Best moment was seeing the gigantic conduits from the Dustmen and the First Sons brawling on the Raysphere blast site- and then destroying them with thunder. Such a thrill. Looking forward to the sequel. Zeke can go die though.
Started VVVVV today. Firstly- amazing soundtrack. Secondly- Terry Cavanaugh is a bastard. Level design carefully treads the line between wonderful and infuriating usually, but when you go trinket hunting you're thrown into the ninth circle of Hell. Yet, it's constantly a joy to play. Well worth the 4 quid entry fee. Actually, it's probably worth more than twice that.
Speaking of infuriating level design, I have Super Meat Boy sitting in my Steam account... I ain't going anywhere near that thing until I have a good joypad. Can't wait to get stuck in though.
I really like the Weird Western Tales feel to this. I'm either laughing at how wonderfully ridiculous it is, or getting a bit freaked out by it. Just started on the multi-player--enjoy Undead Overrun the most.
Still on Day One, grinding away. This is my second SMT game after Persona 4. Great soundtrack, and I like how the babbling voices in the background at times add to the feeling of chaos.
Miles Edgeworth - Slowly getting through it whenever I turn it on (it rarely happens)
DKCR - a little less than halfway through. s'alright
Sonic Colors - Game has issues, but the presentation is outstanding. beat the first three worlds so far, so a little less than halfway through as well.
Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)
After playing pretty much all the other games I've bought after FFXIII I finally just sat down and started playing it. And I'm loving it, although the dialog is pretty horrible at times. It seems to get better and better.
Zombie Driver (PC)
I've had the game since launch and enjoyed quite a bit, but the game was updated with a new game mode last month and I tested it this week. It's like a whole new game!
Bit.Trip.BEAT (PC)
Picked this up from Steam's Thanksgiving sale and out of the 17 games I bought last weekend, this is what really captured my heart.
There are other Steam games I picked last weekend, but I haven't really gotten into them yet.
Plants vs Zombies (steam)
I've been playing it for short burts, an hour here or there. Great game.
Bayonetta (360)
Started this last night, finished chapter 2 so far. I have no idea what is going on, but I love the style of it and the combat is great.
Super Mario Galaxy (wii)
So much fun. It's like they took intangible fun and figured out how to code it, and then laced the disc with cocaine. Just as fun as I remember it being the first time through.
Also a mix of Trials HD, Splosion Man, Uncharted, and Sins of a Solar Empire on the side.

Chrono Trigger DS
Recently bought a DS. Really liking this, but I'm stuck fighting Magus for the first time.
I recently played though it myself. My team was about level 22-25 when I got to Magus. I didnt fare well my first time against him, so I grinded in the area before him until everyone was above level 40 and most everyone had their full moveset (so Crono had Luminaire). Magus went down pretty quickly in the rematch.
I've been playing both WoW and EVE Online, and both of them feel pretty epic right now. They're both getting expansions and WoW has never looked so good.
EVE, well. It's EVE. Their renditions of space are just beautiful.
