Whatcha Been Playin': Leipzig Edition

I ought to add that I've cleaned my fridge (insert great wailing and gnashing of teeth here -> <-) and bought Strongbads cool game for attractive people (or whatever it's called) and Super Mario RPG.

Strongbad is surprisingly good stuff, although I gotta admit that having Homestar Runner streak past me naked is something I didn't really need to see, ever - with or without censorship mosaic.

SMRPG looks a bit more pixelated and compressed then I remember, but the gameplay and music is still there so everything's fine and dandy.

Been working on a healthy diet of...

Bully Scholarship Edition (360) - I heard the 360 version was really fucked up but over 20 hours in and no troubles. Pretty good game, but not something I can really play straight through since it gets kinda repetitive.

Dirt (PS3) - Close to finishing the career mode.

Hot Shots (PS3) - Just playing as Kratos. So awesome. :D

Madden/NCAA 09 (PS3) - I'll probably be playing Campus Legend, then Superstar, much of the fall.

R&C Quest for Booty (PS3) - I started it Thursday but will really get into it today now that I've got my PC project finished here.

Test Drive Unlimited (PS2) - I've already been through the fuck awesome 360 version but the PS2 version rocks too, and is a completely different game. Once I finish Dirt I'm going head-on into this.

Next week is Tales of Vesperia and Tiger 09...things go to hell from here on out for those of us who play a lot of games. :lol

Been playing Battalion Wars WII:

The campaign is not so great, as most of the missions are a big tutorial to teach you all the little details. The great thing is however online mode, where you always find an opponent / buddy in a matter of seconds (at least in Europe).

Okay, so I was charging through those three games I mentioned were my targets this weekend, and loving them...

...and then, Gamersgate got the better of me and I grabbed the apparently pedestrian-titled "Space Rangers 2" game. Well. Talk about amazing. Honestly, this is one of the most amazing games I've ever played! It's funny, it's a TBS, it's an RTS, it's an adventure game, it's a trading game, it's an arcade game...it's only 15 bucks and while other titles deserve 15 bucks, such as Braid, so does this. Honestly, amazing. Anyone with an inclination towards strategy games should give this a go. Straight outta Vladivostok, this one has got me by the short-and-curlies, and it's fine by me.

It is a massive gameworld, too. Really cool stuff.

EDIT: I guess to sum it up, it's Elite...but so, so, SO much more. A beautiful game made by rather thoughtful developers.

Shadow of the Collossus on my PS3/HDTV and holy shit is the game an eye sore, even with p. scan on.

Yeah, certainly a game that looks a treat on an old TV...but once it's plugged into a flatscreen HD, buhr...it looks a bit awful.

- World of Warcraft
Got rid of my account in a final attempt to quit the game a few months ago - but WoTLK hype sucked me back in :(

- Rock Band
Still hooked ...

- Geo Wars 2

I'm glad the covers are coming soon.

On the last case.

Almost done with the second playthrough.

GBA:

Not a bad fighting game. It takes some elements from SF and other games and the mechanics are deeper than you would think. I'm trying to finish the story mode, but Don Quixote (the last boss in the game) can do psychic DPs and reads my movements. Cheap ass CPU! :(

Operation Darkness. f#$% chapter 14 and those 2 fucking Tiger II tanks who decided it was such a brilliant move to take out wolf form Gallant in the same turn. Since when was AI this intelligent?! >.< Uggh. VF5... My Lau has improved, but my Kage is still stagnant...I need to perfect my ETEGs...*sighs*

Finished Condemned 2 on 360 last night. Game was kinda a disappointment. Now playing Hot Shots Golf OOB, Pixeljunk Eden and Guitar Hero 3. I may start playing Lost Odyssey again also.

Went nutzo playing pins at an amusement park.

Played:

Sopranos
Midevil Madness
Ripley's Believe it or NOt
Rollercoaster Tycoon
Bankshot Billiards (?!)
Scared Stiff Evira
Fish Tail
Adams Family
Funhouse

lttp but playign through burnout paradis on ps3 - great engine but I kind of hate the game world racing back and forth mechanics its got going - also absolutely dislike driving to the windfarm/observatory..etc. still, bought the game cheap so. I'm happy about that.

Super Mario RPG, just to see if I still don't like it, but it's actually pretty fun, shame about the art though. Playing it on snes btw, I didn't even know it was out on VC.

Yakuza. Had it for a while, but never played it until today. This game should be played by more people. If you like Shenmue, you owe it to yourself to play yakuza, it's awesome.

Well, I just picked this up tonight so this will take away some Oblivion time.

...why?

Pretty much just NCAA 2009 right now. A little bit of Braid, SingStar and Hot Shots Golf.

A LTTP: Been playing Jade Empire: Special (as in handicapped) Edition for the PC.

jade-empire-special-edition-7669242.jpg

I picked it up in a bargain bin at my local supermarket.

I don't know, the battle system irritated me to no end, but I still managed to finish the game twice, once open palm and once as a closed fist.

Particularily the way of the closed fist was very disturbing at times, and I was pretty reluctant to making some choices along the road, but I soon fell into character and it was all pretty satisfying when everything fell into place near the end. Especially
killing your "friends" and tainting the water dragon with their blood
was as amusing as it was disturbing.

Overall it was a pretty crappy game though, and I'm pretty sure I won't pick it up again. It had it's moments, but it had too many flaws(bugs galore) for me to be able to recommend it. In any case, I think most of you've already tried it anyways.

Oh yeah, I also finished E.V.O.: The search for Eden again. It wasn't as good as I remember it, being a real grind-fest (getting evo points to evolve new parts for your animal can be a bitch!), but it makes up for it in overall cuteness.

And nothing beats a bit of Ground Control II. It's just one of the greatest online RTS/RTT games ever.
I thought I was just about the only one who ever played that. Criminally overlooked gem of a game, especially around here.

It was fairly popular back in the day, I played a ton of it.

I recently broke my left hand, so I can't play anything for a couple of months. :(
Ouch. Get well soon.

Obligatory fanboy-suggestion: If you don't already own one, rent a Wii. There are some games that can be played with one hand only. Endless Ocean for example. Then there's Boom Blox, Mercury Meltdown Revolution (not the menues though), Octomania, Some Wii Play games are onehand-friendly, Pangya (aka Super Swing Golf) and last but not least Wii Sports.
Just saying, of course.

Finished Mass Effect (which i found dissapointing and even if it has great things, i thought it was far from the enjoyment i got with both kotor)

I´m still busy with Etrian Odyssey, trying songs here and there with AudioSurf and now i started The Darkness, which i´m loving for the inmersion and presentation (the scene at Jennys apartment is great), and also played for a bit Blue Dragon

Talking about Ground Control, i loved the 1st one but didnt play the sequel.

-Ninja Gaiden 2, finished my first Warrior game and I'm now doing weapon runs before Mentor/Master Ninja
-Gears of War on XBL
-MGS2

I think after I beat MGS2 I'm gonna play through Mass Effect again!

Been playing a bit of this, I'm on Episode 2.

Just beat this.

Almost through with this.

It has been a pretty good month. I don't have much time to play games right now with all of my school work. Kind of sucks...

I keep playing Warhawk when I have some spare time in the public servers, but I've been bitten by the PSP bug again, so Patapon, Space Invaders Extreme and Daxter (which feels too awkward to control, so it's not leaving me with the best impression).

Been playing

BC: Rearmed
Galaga Legions
Fable 2 pub games (Fortunes tower and Keystone only)
Alittle bit of Red Faction 3 beta before that ends

Shitload of PS3 demos since I just bought one.
Would be playing MGS4 but im waiting on my HDTV to arrive!
