Whatcha Been Playin': Saints Row 4 Edition

Pokemon Soul Silver

I have about 4 more trainers to beat before I can move on to fighting Red. The thing is I am totally lost as to where to go. I just keep circling around and around. I am finding people to fight so I guess that's a good thing, but I don't feel like I'm getting any closer to a gym. I have transferred most of my pokemon over to Black 2 so that's also put me in a bind with progression. If I didn't have HM moves on so many of my main team then I'd be rebuilding right now.

Pokemon Black v2

At some point last week I decided that it would be awesome to get all 649 pokemon. This isn't the same as filling out the pokedex. This is one of every pokemon. Every stage of every evolution. I've always wanted to do this. It's turned the game into something close to an MMO for me. I only have access to so many and the rest I have to find with the help of others. I have found a group of breeders who take requests, but it turns out you can't breed legendaries. The other factor in this is that I've preordered Pokemon X and I want to get all that I can before the game comes out. So it's also a race against the clock now.

Burnout Paradise

This has been my go to game to unwind after long sessions of breeding pokemon, leveling the evolutions, and running them back and forth to hatch the eggs. This game works perfectly with a controller. My only complaint is that I can't seem to tell when it wants me to turn. The street signs are up there, but I'm watching the road as hard as I can. The numerous game types are awesome. I always seem to get stuck on the outside track. I wish more races would take me though the city. I think the online is broken and it makes me wish they had patched it out of the game before turning it off.

Saints Row 4 is my most anticipated game of the year. If I had 60 bucks to burn then I'd snatch it up in a heart beat. I loved the 3rd game and this one looks even more awesome. The traversal looks very similar to DCUO from what I've seen. Maybe I'm wrong. I've been trying to keep myself spoiler free. Still, if I had a choice, this would be the game I'd be playing on my PC. So, Whatcha Been Playin'?

Xenogears on Vita
I bought the game off PSN after watching the X trailer again

Max Payne 3
playing on PC, I don't like it too much but it looks great visually

Bad Company 2 & BF3 on PC
Killzone 3 on PS3

PSO2, started to get back into it again after stopping back in november, great game.

Asphalt 8 Airborne, amazing racing game.

I played a bit of Pikmin 3 but I got stuck on day 3. Yes, I suck that bad.

edit: And today I went out and bought New Super Mario Bros U. My only complaint so far is it seems very similar to NSMB Wii so far. The second world being the desert world again, specifically. It's still pretty great, though.

Borderlands 2 on PS3 in co-op with roommate.
Very fun so far. We started fresh last night and are having a blast

Pokemon Black 2
Currently at area 5 of the Black Tower. Trying to level up my main Pokemon. Though certainly getting challenging now, heh.

Dark Souls, I'm only eight hours in, maybe played two hours really if I remove the deaths and stuff, but damn that's good. I can't start another game. I want to get back to it but it's difficult and I'm afraid I'll be ragequitting it too quickly.

And a bit of the KillZone: Mercenary multiplayer beta. Damn. The Vita sure can deliver.

Splinter cell blacklist - pc. I'm enjoying it. Tons of content and replayability.

Madden 25 - 360 for the entire upcoming weekend

Breaking out the Dreamcast and PS2 for the weekend. I will be alternating between Power Stone (DC), Unreal Tournament (DC), Hydro Thunder (DC), Burnout 3 (PS2), and NBA 2K3 (PS2).

I try to only play one game at a time so that I actually finish everything I start, but it's been hard lately with all these August releases. I finished getting the Tails of Xillia platinum trophy the other day, and started on Saints Row 4. I'm enjoying it quite a bit, but I keep getting side-tracked by all the collectibles and activities that I hardly bother with the story missions.

I currently have Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Mario & Luigi and Splinter Cell: Blacklist all unplayed, and Killer is Dead and Project Diva F come out next week. I usually make a point of not developing a backlog, but it can't be helped at this point.

WoW- Rolling through some dungeons here and there
Modern Warfare 2- Got it cheap. Still more fun than Black Ops
Stacking- Just the trial. Gonna download it this weekend. Cool game
Capcom Arcade Cabinet- Good, just wish I could find someone to play two player with online.

Finally finished The Saboteur last weekend and bumming around with Sacred 2.

Got Sly 4: Thieves in Time on sale and rented Saints Row 4 from RedBox for free last night.

Arc the Lad 2 - Was over 30 hours and just felt like I was playing to finish. Felt too long for what it was, decided to ditch it.

Tales of Eternia - Started this after ditching the above. So far so good, very colorful and pretty and the characters seems fun and charming.

Deus Ex: HR - Starting playing where I left off a couple of months back.

X-COM - Played a few missions, not bad. Will play more later.

Saints Row IV (PC): Finished it this morning and had so much fun with it. Easily one of my favorite games of the year.

The Lord of the Rings War in the North (PC): Started this after finishing SRIV. I've only put a couple of hours into it and I'm not sure what I think yet. The combat is fun but I don't know if I'll actually finish it.

Saint's Row IV: Massive fun, though somewhat shiftless. Though I only say that because in between flying from mission to mission, I stop whenever I see something interesting come up on my minimap. According the total percentage, I'm 49% finished with the game, but I've only done 3 story missions thus far. This game must be a nightmare for people with ADD.

Borderlands 2: Started it last week and have been playing it solo. The characters are great, I don't understand why people were so upset about Tiny Tina. Tannis is my favorite character because she shares me distaste for actual human interaction in the smartest way possible. It's fun, I'm playing a mechromancer, which makes the game a little easy, but probably no more so than playing co-op.

Marvel 3: Went back into the lab to up my Hsen-ko game, then took what few new tricks I eked out and did okay at the local game night in Boston. It's interesting how people's game can be shut down when they don't know how to actively combat something, even if that thing is statistically and categorically weaker than the tools they have access to. But then I had too much to drink and started losing, which happens when your game night is at a bar. On a bar. And the bartender knows your name.

Plants vs Zombies 2 - IAP aside I'm really having alot of fun with it, never played the first one that much. Might have to check it out now.

Star Wars KOTOR - Just bought it for my new iPad, the controls aren't that bad as I thought they would be.

Resident Evil 6 - Only played the demo and hated it, I couldn't pass it up for $10 new. Just got past Leon's second chapter, hope to at least finish his chapters by end of the weekend.

Mario and Luigi: Dream Team Bros. - It's an incredible RPG, amazing music and some impressive 3D effects. The tutorials are hardly bothersome.

Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate - Currently farming off the Brachydios Mio! quest for some gems and Zinogre jaspers.

Also FE:A and ACNL on/off.

Persona 4 Golden

Boom! A year after starting it, I finally, finally finished it, clocking in at 70 hours.

Divekick

Kick, dive, dive, kick, dive, kick, dive, kick, kick.

Breaking out the Dreamcast and PS2 for the weekend. I will be alternating between Power Stone (DC), Unreal Tournament (DC), Hydro Thunder (DC), Burnout 3 (PS2), and NBA 2K3 (PS2).

So refreshing to have a week where it isn't achievement hunting. Good selection.

So, Whatcha Been Playin'?

I've been out of town which meant Vita was all I could play. With that being said I finished Resistance Burning Skies

dn14cpOl.jpg

Then I need to get back to some Steam gaming very soon, maybe I should start Dead Space.

Right now, I'm still not sure on what to play next, I have a decent Backlog but it seems the Next-Gen hype is increasing so that is what I waiting the most. Oh and I've been trying Killzone Mercenary. This game looks really, really good, I'm impressed.

Grabbed To The Moon the other day, so I've mostly been playing that. I'm sure I'll finish it this weekend. Hasn't disappointed at all, even considering all the lavish praise it gets.

Console
Saints Row 4
Castlevania: Harmony of Despair

Mobile
Robot Unicorn Attack 2
DragonVale
Plants vs. Zombies 2

Handheld
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin

Dead Space 3 Co-Op, getting worse and worse as I keep playing.

Far Cry 3, pretty damn good so far. Shouldn't have let it stew on my backlog forever

PS3
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (mainly the Sam and Wolf DLC, plan on resuming Revengeance run in main game)
Persona 4 Arena (as part of the ongoing GAF tournament)

Wii
Pandora's Tower (beat the first master as of last play)

3DS
Soul Hackers (recently passed the VR art museum)

Mirror Mode: missing about 5 levels, mostly bosses cause they're so annoying
Time Trials: doing Shiny Golds, but they are too freaking hard. Trying to do one per day, but the rate will probably slow down when I start another game. On World 3 right now, but I couldn't figure out the boss level on W1 and two levels on W2.

Xbox 360
Assassin's Creed 3: Just beat the game this morning and I loved it. Conner was hard to get used to at first but he eventually grew on me,
especially when he shaved his head and put on the war paint!
I really don't understand the hate this game gets, but then again I'm not a picky bastard so I can play through games that might not be perfect. Give me an Assassin's Creed game every year and I'll be happy! Wait, I do get that! :)

The Spiderwick Chronicles: A fun little game for achievements only. Not much to talk about other than is doesn't suck, but its not anything special. Plays just fine.

Dishonored: The Brigmore Witches (360)

- This is how all DLC should be done, it offers plenty of new content and feels fresh from the original game. I'm nearly at the end of the 2nd level and I'm doing a no-kill/ghost playthrough.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days (360)

- I really enjoyed this continuation of The Walking Dead universe. I missed one achievement so i might play it again. I can't wait for season 2!

Forza Horizon

- Still working through the single player and i've also started playing the multi which is pretty fun. I need to get that Rally DLC when i have some spare money.

Tales of Vesperia

- Around 13hrs clocked, in the tower of gears. I'm about to tackle the boss.

Battlefield 3 (360)

- Conquest & Rush, been getting back into it in anticipation of BF4.

Persona 4: Golden

- Grinding in Kanji's Dungeon atm (Hard mode)

Not much really, I just started college, so I've been busy. I did go buy Saint's Row IV today though and I have been playing Payday 2 and CS:GO when I have the chance to

RPG Maker VX Ace: We finally received a few impressions...but only for our trailer and not the actual demo, hah! Not sure if people have actually sat down with the game yet. We've actually updated/rebalanced a few things for our current demo, which you can play here! Right now, we're working on another prologue demo which will actually be the start of the game (instead of Chapter 3 which is where our current demo takes place).

Tales of Xillia: About 20 hours in, currently in Chapter 2. Story is getting a bit more interesting and I'm digging the game for the most part. Liking it still a lot more than Graces f.

Dragon's Crown: Still working on quests here and there and maxing my Dwarf in the post game/harder difficulties.

Pikmin 3: I'm currently saved, with zero deaths, locked into the final boss who is half way dead. Pretty intense (and frustrating) trying to no-death this game. Final area/boss is really cool though! I'm trying to beat this game by tomorrow, hah!

SMT IV: Finished last week, currently in new game+ going for my second ending. Still my GOTY.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team: About 12 hours in, just got to Wakeport. Loving this.

Bioshock Infinite (360) - Started this last night and I am already halfway done. Don't know why I didn't start playing this earlier!

Bioshock is all that I am playing until it's finished. After that, probably going to finally play Saints Row 3 or Gears Judgement to start clearing my backlog. Just waiting for GTA, Pokemon, and my new systems.

Saints Row IV
Deus Ex Human Revolution
GTA IV
Little Big Planet Karting
Hitman Absolution
Guacamelee

Wish i was playing Hearthstone...

Skies of Arcadia Legends - (Gamecube, playing on Wii) -Just started this, always wanted to try it. Seems fun so far

Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii) - Started this a long time ago but have finally got around to it. Just trying to get used to the controls.

Resonance (PC/Steam) - I think I'm about halfway through, just love this game. Feels a lot like Police Quest.

Back to the Future (PC/Steam) - On the 2nd to last episode.
