What's a good 3DS game for the airport/plane?

I'm traveling tomorrow and expect some delays and extended flight-times due to bad weather. I'm almost done with Zelda, but I don't want to have to move the 3DS around to aim while I'm sitting next to others in close-quarters.

So the requirements I have are:

1. Don't have to use the 3DS accelerometer.
2. Not too hard because air travel is frustrating enough on its own.
3. Good story to pass the time.

Pushmo, and what's that name of the Western game? It's made by someone here at GAF. You can play as a duck? I forget what it's called.

Fire Emblem sounds like a good suggestion. I'd also add Picross-e if you're in Europe
I am not :(
or the DS Picross games if you haven't played those, they're great for killing a long plane ride.

If your looking for a good story, no game can surpass 999 and Virtue's Last Reward. On any device.

Crimson Shroud also has great writing, and is on sale on the eShop until the 30th ($8 to $5).

Pushmo is a great game, but might not be what you're looking for. It gets kinda hard near the end and has no story beyond 'save these kids by solving puzzles'.

You're thinking of Gunman Clive. I haven't played it, but I heard good things about it.

Damn you for stealing the obvious joke.

I second both Fire Emblem and Pushmo/Crashmo. Both can keep you busy for a long time, while not requiring your full attention at all times and can be suspended whenever you need to.

Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars is also available on the eShop (former retail launch game). It's like Fire Emblem but with Ghost Recon stuff. In case that's more your thing. And it's cheaper than FE.

edit: I guess Paper Mario also works but I haven't played that so can't personally vouch for it.

I've been thinking about Fire Emblem since it's on sale at Best Buy. I'm a little hesitant because I've never played a j/srpg.

Unless Warhammer 40k counts as an SRPG.

Since Awakening is THE best way to get started, just go with that.

Fire Emblem
Pullblox/fallblox
Picross e1-e2
Shantae dsi
Crimson Shroud
Mighty Switch Force
Zelda DX
Mario/Wario Land series
Mario and Donkey kong
Gunman Clive

Luigi's Mansion 2. I play it on the train on my daily commute. I never use the accelerometer, its implementation isn't required.

In any question regarding the 3DS, the answer is always Fire Emblem.

unless it's Bravely Default

Don't worry, I haven't played any srpg except the latest XCom, and I love Fire Emblem: Awakening. It eases you in and never feels overwhelming.

Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars has got me through some plane journeys (not long haul, natch), and you can pick it up for a pittance these days. ÂŁ8.93 new on Amazon UK.

Really? Isn't that the worst place though due to the lighting conditions? Though I guess on a plane it might be a little better since I think you can cover the window?

Add one more vote for Fire Emblem.

Best 3DS game on the market by far.

Edit: lol I didn't read two posts above this

Welp, looks like you made the right choice
