What's The First Game You Played On An HD Tevelsion?

On a flatscreen hdtv?

Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Gears of War via component cables.

Moved to HDMI on PS3 and watched a blu ray and played Resistance Fall of Man and wondered why my 360 didn't come with an hdmi port.

Does PS2 games via component cable count? If so maybe it was ps2 games, socom and ffxi come to mind, maybe def jam vendetta.

My first game was Blue Dragon, I remember not being able to read the text on my SD display. I told my wife I had to have an HDTV to play the game.

I bought my HDTV in July of 2008. That would be about a month after MGS4 came out and I'm pretty sure I was still playing it like a madman by that point, so, chances are it's that game. At the time it was pretty much the perfect game to discover the glory that is (or was, I guess) high-definition television.

Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Went over to a friends house and his brother had bought an Xbox 360 shortly after launch. Me and all my friends were pretty much in shock over how awesome it looked.

Condemned: Criminal Origins (360)

Had gotten a 360 and this game for Christmas. For a while, it and Hexic were the only two games I had. I remember thinking that the graphics were pretty incredible. My mother didn't like the grisly first person violence, though, so I could only play it whenever she wasn't in the room.

Uncharted 2, which blew my ass away. I got my HDTV during Black Friday '09. I don't remember if I bought Uncharted 2 day 1 or if I waited until the tv but I definitely remember my jaw dropping. It's one thing to see a game in HD for the first that but that first time being Uncharted 2? It was like a teenager losing his virginity to a super model.

Early 2007 We bought a 52 inch Samsung LCD and for my birthday in July my wife bought me a PS3 and Resistance. IIRC I also picked up Gripshift as my first PSN title. (love both of them) SD to HD was such an awesome change.

Mass Effect. I remember that I really had to adjust to the higher graphic quality and ran cluelessly around in the first area till I found my way.
After that, I get other cases of "Brain overload" through this generation. Assassins Creed 2 was one, and recently it was Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I don't know why, but the more details I see, the less my brain can process it and it's kind of a confused, numb feel.

I have the feeling that I won't be able to play games from the next generation (the Ps3/360 sucessors, WiiU I think would work).

Dragon Age: Origins.

I had it for 360 set up with an old SDTV and I was having trouble reading the text, so I got fed up and bought a new TV. It was only a 20" Sony Bravia, but it made a world of difference. It was beautiful. Sometimes I just stared at the screen with the television turned off.

I played COD 2 and PGR 3 on a 360 demo unit a few months after launch, then I played the first two acts of MGS 4 on my friends 55'' plasma a few days after that launched. Wow. Just wow. I got Bravia a year later and never looked back.

God of War 3.

I was living in the US for 4 months during Dec 2009 - March 2010 and I didn't have an HD set there, I bought my PS3 during those months but it wasn't until I came back to Peru and plugged my PS3 on an HDTV my mom had bought me while I was abroad that I playing on an actual HDTV, GoW 3 looked amazing.

Console game: either PGR3 or Geometry Wars, good times either way

Though I'd already been playing on a CRT that did progressive so it was a bit less of a jump

Decided to go HD(720p back then) when the 360 came out(2006 ?)...the first game I played was either Kameo,Perfect Dark Zero or Condemned, three of the 360 launch games...

Bought a 360 with GTA IV, played on an old CRT. Written lines were burning my eyes. When I lost sight finishing Splosion Man on this CRT TV, I bought an HDTV and tested it with GTA IV.

I could finally read the lines.

I had an HD television before HD consoles existed (55" rear projection Mitsubishi). Technically, the first HD game I played was Unreal Tournament 2004 when I connected my PC to it.

If this doesn't describe how much better PC gaming is over consoles, then I don't know what does.

Alternatively, I think I played 99 Nights as a rental when I got my XBox 360, or it might have been Dead Rising.

What, no "In the Pit" at 1080p?? :)

I got my HDTV right around the time I got my 360, so the first game I played on it was probably Bioshock (or maybe Hexic, but Hexic doesn't count).

Eternal Sonata. Looked really, really good. (and then I had to move, and since that moment I'm playing my X360 games on an SDTV ; _;)

I was so amazed that I took pictures. Gears of War really left my jaw on the floor, I hope that next gen will do the same.

Can't believe I paid over $1000 for a 37inch 1080p HDTV lol, early adopter FTL.
