What's the meaning behind your GamerTag?

Short version of my last name that just stuck. Haven't been called by my first name since I was child really.

SolVanderlyn -

Part of my first name has Carlos in it, and Sol is the second half of that name backwards. Sol Badguy is also a favorite character of mine.

Vanderlyn is just my middle name.

GT: I TwoSixNine I - It was the random digits generated after my name when I created Hotmail email address and the first thing I thought about when all the names I wanted were taken.

Not much to it, I just really liked FLCL and took to Rickenbacker because Haruko used one as her weapon. Since that would likely be taken on its own and I didn't want to add numbers or anything, I thought to my number one quality as a person of being lazy and useless and decided to add slacker to it.

The story: I probably had a bunch of other names before Xbox Live but I've been almost exclusively using John Caboose after I picked it as my gamertag. It was going to be "Pvt J Caboose" but it was already taken so John Caboose it was. In hindsight I'm very happy that gamertag was taken, John Caboose feels far more personal than "Pvt J Caboose" ever could. Considering I was only 14 when making my gamertag, I'm very proud I didn't end up with anything with numbers instead of letters or whatever.

Anyway, the references are that John is my second name and Caboose was, at the time, my favorite Red vs Blue character. I've been using John Caboose for more than 7 years now so it has gone far past a simple RvB reference, it actually feels like part of my name.

biocat
CF3_0144.gif

From this game: Cosmic Fantasy 2.

In an early preview of the game in, I think, VG&CE magazine, they introduced the two cat characters in the game. At the time, they didn't know their final names, so they just called them "mechanical cat" and "biological cat".

I shortened the second name into Biocat and my online handle was born!

I usually try to use Eorl, which was actually lifted from The Lord of the Rings by random when I was in need of a name for World of Warcraft years and years ago. Eorl the Young was the first King of Rohan. Eorl was a wise and valiant man and a great hero of his people. It is also the name I go by on AusGamers and a number of other places.

If Eorl is taken I usually drift towards Thrador which was just a random name I came up with. I'll also use Froodle, a word I made up back in High School and have since been using as a describing word oddly enough.

Xbox GT: bigbaldwolf86

86= year I was born

bigbaldwolf = I'm bald and wanted to put it into something so the big bad wolf became the big bald wolf

I use this name on pretty much everything I register on

My GT is The Dutch Pinyo

Blue Bird's name from Sesame street is Pino in Dutch. I added a Y to it because I thought it would flow better. And because I'm Dutch I added the Dutch part to it. I wish I would have let out the 'The' part though. Maybe Pinyo the Dutch would've been better.

And my GAF account is a combination of my first name and last name.

My first GT was: H3AD5HOT B00M ... I was young

My second was Qs x IReCoiLz, I was obsessed with quickscoping on MW2 hence the recoil part (the horrible mismatched caps and lower case was due to the fad at the time) and was in a little clan as co-leader, had a lot of good times.

That fell apart eventually though so I changed my Qs x to AnX, which was my buddies old clan tag and left it.

My current user is a mix of my name (Brad) and the last 3 letters of the alphabet.

My name on Xbox is "xXxD1ckBl4st3r69xXx", it is pretty self explanatory though. I always hate detectives in media like comics or films, so I always imagine someone shooting them. But to take it even further, I like Boba Fett from the Star War and he uses a blaster. So I imagine him blasting the detective with his dick. Believe it or not, I was not born in '69, I just like to give oral sex while I receive it. The xXx's come from the fact that I used to operate an online text sword shop, because it looks like a handle of a sword. I thought this fit well with my internet handle.

[]xxx()::::::::::::::::::::::::>

Also Vin Diesel was mad good in xXx 2.

Mine's pretty boring.

"Mullet" because when I was young (quite young, like age 3 to age 7) I had a very long mullet.

"2000" because...I started going on message boards and stuff in the year 2000 and needed something to put after "mullet."

Somehow it's stuck after all this time!

"It was the hour in which objects lose the consistency of shadow that accompanies them during the night and gradually reacquire colors, but seem to cross meanwhile an uncertain limbo, faintly touched, just breathed on by light; the hour in which one is least certain of the world's existence"

The Nonexistent Knight

also partly because no one seemed to care when I was trying to get my old acct access back (lost access to uni email & forgot password)

I was watching My Name is Earl at the time of creating my Xbox Live profile so I decided to go with mr turtle. Unfortunately my tv was crap and so I mixed up l with t. Took me a few days to realise I named myself mr lurtle when I tried to login to xbox.com. At least the name is always available when I have to register myself somewhere...

Mine is a fusion between:

Robotron: 2084 (The classic arcade)

and

Napoleon Bonaparte.

Just two things/historical persona I was fascinated by the time I made it.

I have also tended to use Robotron for action/rts etc games and Roboleon for grand strategy (paradox, civ) games.

The first character I created in Ultima Online was called Malaussene (named after the main character in a series of novels I loved in my youth).
Ever since it was the name I used nearly everywhere online.. live, psn, nn.. guess I will stick with it for the rest of my gaming life..

A combination of about three previous nicknames.

Kup.

On PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE.

It's the name of my favourite Transformer. I get messages about it all the time and friend requests from other people with Transformer names as their Gamertag or Online ID. Weird.

PSN/Steam: hi-fi_famicom

The "hi-fi" part references the fact that I'm somewhat of an audiophile (I have a few pairs of nice headphones and a decent headphone amp/DAC.)
The "famicom" is the first game system I ever owned (NES, really.)

If I play an online shooter, most people on voice chat just shorten it to hi-fi.

Back in the early 2000's I posted on a Nintendo board under the name of Star Wolf (because I had a friend who was Fox McCloud on the same board). Then I changed it to Delta Wolf because I was in a counter-strike clan where we all had alpha/beta/whatever in our names. Then I changed it to just Wolf. The weird formatting is because Wolf is obviously taken on any site I ever register on.

GT is x Delta Wolf x simply because everything is taken, always, and I made them during that counter strike phase, I guess. I should get a new name, but then who would ever figure out who Cliffy B said "TOO BAD MOTHERFUCKER!" to?

Back in middle school I drew picture of a cartoon Mosquito (my avatar) and called it Muskweeto. Though people tell me it looks more like a fly.

scakko on psn
Scakko on nintendo network

A nickname i have since the first day of university, i used to always have a white king chess piece as a lucky charm, "scacchi" is the italian word for chess, so anyone called me "scacco" and i took it as my official nickname.

So gamertag is what they call usernames? lol

Anyway, GaruruWolf because howling wolf (and WereGarurumon). Chespin because #teamchespin

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six

Now you know how much I love Tom Clancy games and Rainbow Six and how the new direction Ubisoft has taken with those games this gen is eating me up from the inside ;-;

This is the best.

originally "Stunt"

but my clan leader in GRAW 2 and COD 4 was horrible at english accent and when he called me it sounded like

nestum-mel.jpg

Taken from the Bowling for Soup song "Shut Up and Smile"

All we need is love and beer
And old school metal and holiday cheer
TO be happy
(All you need is someone near)
like ben and jerry
(to hold you close and pretend that they care)

It is also my Xbox GamerTag, PSN id and WiiU id.
Sadly LoveAndBeer were already taken on Twitter and Google and Tumblr etc etc. In general I tend to append Lex at the end for uniqueness (LoveAndBeerLex). This is based on Lexington, KY (my hometown for 20+ years now). That also explains my Avatar Image.

I used to always use Genome. However after a while it was always taken. When I got an xbox I tried using Genome as my user name
Taken
Ok Genome_UK
Taken
Genome1
Taken
Genome12
Taken
Genome 123432341
Taken

WTF. So I just sat there for a bit thinking of a stupid name that no one would ever likely pick again so I wouldn't have to deal with this crap. OmegaTreeFish was born.

Jimwhatshisname

According to the Full Throttle manual the protagonists name is Ben Whatshisname. I like that game a lot.

phierce - last name is pierce...first name starts with H...h pierce. Called pierce all through sports, and phierce in college ball...plus it's way cooler...FIERCE BITCHES!

shimesaba is brined/marinated mackerel. One of the cheapest cuts of sushi you can get (I think marinating gives a bit more leeway with when it can be served), but nevertheless my favorite.

I've also used both Freelance and Bioexorcist as gamertags; together, that's Beetlejuice's job description.
