What's the ONE game you always come back to?

Dungeon Siege 2, Warcraft 3, or NBA live 2003. They are some of my first games but still some of my personal favorite games!

Super Metroid. As close as I've played to a perfect game. It's amazing how many nuances only became apparent after dozens of replays or more. There's lot to love about the game from a technical/artistic standpoint, but the layout of the map and placement of items is straight up uncanny. It's shocking how re-playable it is.

Runners up:

Galaga
DuckTales
Life Force
Contra
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario World
Link to the Past
Super Mario 64
Ocarina of Time
Soul Calibur
Metroid Prime
Geometry Wars 2

Street Fighter 4, namely its latest iteration.
I've been playing fighting games since 2008 and most of my friends play it so yeah.

Can't say one game because there are multiple i still play monthly.

Mario Kart Wii still more then a weekly thing even though i own MK8. Best mario kart so my friends and i still play it.

Lylat Wars simpel and short game perfect for setting high scores. But still has a great story and is entertaining enough to different routes through the game.
Streets of Rage 2. Since the wii i could finally put my megadrive in the closet. The music and gameplay is topnotch.

and on my mobile as bonus Love live school idol festival. A rhythm game mixed with puzzle and dragon elements. perfect for a short game waiting on things. I have been playing this game daily for 6 months now with the exception of a break when the events aren't on.

Skyrim. Sometimes I sit there looking at my steam library and just so indecisive what to play, ultimately I throw skyrim on for a little bit, do the odd quest and roam.

Resident Evil 4, Team Fortress 2, Super Metroid, Brawl... if it had to be ONE I think it would be Team Fortress 2.

Metal Gear Solid , X-wing Alliance, Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, Ace Combat, Halo, Freelancer, Guild Wars 1, MechWarrior 4, Homeworld 2, Star Wars Battlefront, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Star Wars Empire at War, Doom 1-2, Fallout 1-2, Freespace 1-2, Shogo, Unreal Tournament, Flatout 2, Kessen, World in Conflict, Mech Commander 2, Beyond Good and Evil, Shogun 2 Total War, Ninja Gaiden Razor's Edge and dozens of others

Usually one of a few rhythm games, In the Groove 2, EBA/Ouendan, or Rock Band. I think after nearly a decade of this I've rhythm game'd myself out though because I've hardly played any of those games in the past year (though I did play a bunch of Miku).

Shame there's no sequel. It's prequel on the Amiga "K240" pretty much *was* my childhood.

Yup, i still play my save that have only 340 hours in it.

I have a motherfucking 3 planets that only carries missiles and spaceships.

It obliterates anything in its path, but somehow the CPU stasis'd them and tried to destroy me.

this must be black magic.

Psychonauts.

It's not my favourite game, but I can always count on it to entertain me when I start to lose interest with some games.

For the longest time, it was Halo. Now I don't have an xbox. Smash bros would be the game my friends and I always play. Now we don't have a wii or cube... Sooooo Mario Kart 8 appears to be that game for me nowadays.

Tetris. Been playing it since I was 4-5 years old, always come back to it on numerous platforms. It really is the perfect video game. Simple to learn, difficult to master. Capable of being played in short bursts or maintaining long play sessions. It's solitary yet fun to observe, and makes for great multiplayer.

Ninja Gaiden. Every time. I've played this game so many times that I can't keep track. I still haven't played anything with better mechanics, and shit, the game still looks great. I put this puppy in my 360 and it's "adios, world".

Halo 3 is up there too.

Sim City 4

Since 8 years or so I regularly install it and play for few hours.

God. What would I give for a Sim City 5 on a modern 3d-engine.

Chrono Cross. The soundtrack and character/world design bring me back every year.

Kingdom Hearts II

It's a game that I can play forever and never get bored of it. The characters, the gameplay, the worlds, they're all amazing in my opinion.
