What's up with all dudes having the SS cut these days.

It's peaking now, though, and is attaching itself to a stereotype.
Trends come and go, but the hairstyle is here to stay. It's easy, stylish and functional.

It'll fall out of fashion eventually, but still be common because it works on a base level. And if the hipster "stereotype" bothers you, then I guess that's your own burden. It's hardly a negative one, and is only looked down upon by people that have misplaced resentment.

Well to explain I started getting it because I have a big baldspot on the side of my head any way. Please forgive me for douchebag eye squint GAF

It's neat and you have almost nothing to do to keep it neat.
However one can not agree more about the fact that every dude wear this and it does not fit every face, but hey guess what, it's been this for every trend and people make style mistakes. /Thread Of the Obviousness

I don't like people referring this haircut as a nazi's cut just to add a pejorative term in order to make the people in front of them hate this cut as well. Especially since their style is the only thing they were good at.

It's a good looking haircut on people who have the right face for it.

For people with a round head, it's a serious no go.

People calling it the Hitler Youth cut are rather being intentionally ignorant to cut other people down, or are making some highly misguided ploy to sound "edgy". Either way it's a gross comparison.

I wouldn't even bother going for that cut. My hair is too curly and I hate the feel of products in my hair.

Which sucks because it seems to be the default cool/attractive look atm (not that it would really help me much anyways).

I actually just got an undercut this past week at the suggestion of my wife. She loves it and I don't think it looks too bad. I love the buzzed feeling on the back and sides while still having hair on top to mess around with to style.

If you have got a rounder face, you are fucked for that hairstyle. Sucks because I really like it, but I would look like a fat cunt with a loaf on my head.

Undercut + being skinny + wearing a tank top to show off your slim arms is a current trend here in Germany; but I feel like undercuts have been around for some time.

This has been common since forever in europe. I used to get this all the time until my barber fucked it up badly once.

Exactly this. People have been doing it for years but it really blew up and got super popular in the last two-three years.

I think it's now just blowing over to the US because of the World Cup.

It's pretty funny to see about ten guys in a row in public with that same cut. Nothing new about this hip hivemind though.

looks good, haters must be bald or thinning

hey man, i thought it looked lame way before i started thinning.

i can't take anyone seriously with that hairstyle anymore, it's been played out for too many years now, doesn't look good or cool at all. it only screams "hey look at me, im different in the exact same way everyone else is trying to different!"

Does it? It just looks like a cool haircut. Are you angry because you can't pull it off? Hey man it's OK, I can't neither, I dark skinned with a round face and curly hair, is impossible for me to look good or even get my hair that way but I still enjoy looking at people in that haircut. Summer is really hot and is a fashionable haircut.

Considering there's not that many haircuts you can do in the military.. The high and tight is a popular one.

The OP haircut is nice looking.

Quite frankly, I kind of have this cut and I'm a woman. It's not shaved on the sides, but it's shorter on the sides and longer on top. It's a great pixie cut and I get a lot of positive comments on it. Matter of preference, I guess.

wow.. that haircut is so sexy haha. i love it when girls get their head shaved or have variations of the pixie cut, its a very empowering look for women. shows a very strong feminine look. you pull it off well.

EDIT: i have a variation of this haircut. im biracial, but tend to have more "caucasian" physical features and have straight, thick hair, so i pull off a low fade version of whatever this haircut is or style is called. my hair on top is about a 5-6 clipper length and the sides fade from 4-2 clipper length. its a good look.

This is a great look, and you also look like Starbuck from early seasons BSG to me, which again is great.

well i had it in the nineties for a while, along with all the other local kids. so by default i associate it with childhood, can't help but see it as a silly style on an adult.

and these things happen in cycles like every trendy thing, it's getting uncool now that every average joe has it, so it will slowly fade away. and comes back again in 15-20 years. people just seem a bit like sheep following the cycles, as if they're original or something. i only appreciate a style someone always has, not just for 2-3 years when it's super hip. i can guarantee most people rocking this hairstyle won't have it 5 years from now.

"It was played-out before it was cool!"

You some kind of meta-hipster?

if you say so, i dont define myself. i dont think thats a thing tho.

I have been getting my hair cut for about three years like this. I hate having it long on the sides because my hair tends to curl, and I think it is a good standard look. Nice and clean.

Doesn't look very good.
I disagree. I really like his cut; suits him.

Honestly though generally I feel like style works best complete with a beard and maybe tattoos
and muscles
. Obviously then it becomes overtly hipster, but hey, it still looks good.

But ultimately, almost any style of hair or clothing looks good on a good-looking dude.

Meh, It depeneds on the persons facial aesthetics and hair type for them to pull it off. I have a spiked varaition of it, which I have had for years before this style was ever popular.

There are different variations of this look though. Some people style it like a marine

I've considered it because I've got a very thick head of hair. I'm just afraid that, at 35, I've aged out.

Do you guys think 35 is too old for a normal, non-model dude?
