Proudly debt free. If you need a couple bucks, just ask.

See something on an actor / magazine / blog / etc., emulate in an attempt to be trendy.

I think I have version of that although, but it's grown out a bit and the sides:top ratio wasn't quite so extreme. But I just told my hair stylist to do whatever she thought would look good.

*shrug*

It lets guys who can't pull off a super-short haircut get most of the benefits while keeping the hair on top at a pretty reasonable-looking length.

Undercut has been a thing for years, even before the celeb explosion in the last two years.

It's the default hipster haircut. Doesn't work on me with my increasingly prevalent widows peak.

I'm pretty sure my brother had this haircut in like 1994 when he started Kindergarten. It may have been more blended, but looked the same. Either way, it seems like this has been around for quite some time. I think it looks good as long as the top isn't super long and slicked back.

Undercut is dead. All about the low fade at the moment

Low fade? What does that mean? Fade lower in the head? Isn't the style to fade it high?

I've been sporting the undercut/ss cut (first time hearing the ss cut term and still don't know what it stands for) for about 2 years now and this thread makes me want to get rid of it :(

True story: I gave the same haircut style to my brother and everyone loved it so much they asked him for my business card. They were shocked when he told them I wasn't a barber. Apparently, barbershops/salons do a terrible job of replicating it, and some of them don't like the idea as it kind of resembles Hitler youth.

You don't know who the SS were?

I have something similar but not as extreme. I wanted something where I could still have longer hair but also could keep it trim and professional looking at work. Thats what the hair cutter came up with and I liked it. When its shorter I look somewhat like these guys but like I said not quite as extreme of a difference between the top and bottom and when its longer I got the Clark Kent look going on lol.

Today I learned that the origin of something is determined by the most famous person or group to use it.

Also, I am relieved that a clean looking hairstyle has become trendy. First time in a while that people have been sporting something to stray from the deliberate bed head shit.
