What's worse: wasps or spiders?

If Im not aware of their presence then I think spiders are worse.
Here in Australia, a Funnel Web bite could possibly kill me, a White Tip/tail bite could leave a large rotting hole of dead flesh in my body and a redback could be extremely painful.
If I am aware of their presence, then a wasp is more dangerous because of their speed and aggression.
I would also say that wasps are kinda cool looking, whereas spiders are just straight ugly and scary looking.

Not even bro

As much as I don't like spiders, wasps do take the prize as the biggest fucking jerks among insects on this entire planet.

Hmm...the one that crawls around doing it's own thing or the one that can fly, sting, and has a group hiding somehwere.

....Fuck wasp. Burn them all.

Wasps. Motherfuckers attack unprovoked and they hold a grudge if you don't kill them. Spiders serve SOME purpose, I never understood the ecological role of wasps.

Tbh I have been stung by wasps several times, but never with no reason.
They don't just go around stinging anyone on their path.

They are so annoying when they are after your sandwich on the beach though.

Spider are gentle creature who leave us alone and kill bugs and other spiders.

Wasps on the other hands are bitches and will mess with you regardless if you leave them alone or not, plus they are trickster fooling people that they are the gentle honey bee until BAM! they sting you.

Screw wasps, which is why I kill them when I get the chance.

I don't really think much of wasps. I don't encounter them much.

Spiders on the other hand, appear rather frequently. With spiders, my dread comes from thinking about where the spider was lurking before I noticed it.
I had a party inside your mouth last night, but they left it real clean and even put up with all the other bugs inside your room too.

Wasps are worse, but spiders are pretty chill. I let them live and take them out of the house when they are too bugging. :F

That daid I had a phobia of spiders as a child and always had to scream for my mom to clean them out, considering there were five to ten inside my room whenever I left my windows open and lights on during the night for a minute too long.

While both do their share of pest control, I'd go with wasps. They're always setting up their little nests in front of the garage and on the porch during the summer, and they fly every where. One even made its way inside this year, and it was not easy to catch. The fact that they can sting repeatedly without dying makes them worse.

This.

My only 2 fears in life are spiders and wasps/bees.
At least with spiders I can run the fuck away!
Why would you even need to get away from spiders? They don't want to hurt you. Au contraire, they love you and protect your home from vermin and bug demons.

I have mostly paper wasps around the outside of my house

Unlike yellowjackets and hornets, which can be very aggressive, polistine paper wasps will generally only attack if they themselves or their nest are threatened. Since their territoriality can lead to attacks on people, and because their stings are quite painful and can produce a potentially fatal anaphylactic reaction in some individuals, nests in human-inhabited areas may present an unacceptable hazard.

Most wasps are beneficial in their natural habitat, and are critically important in natural biocontrol. Paper wasps feed on nectar and other insects, including caterpillars, flies, and beetle larvae. Because they are a known pollinator and feed on known garden pests, paper wasps are often considered to be beneficial by gardeners.

I've taken out a good number of their nests (soapy water = bunch of dead wasps), but for each one I kill a new one pops up somewhere else.

We've never actually been stung or even seen them become aggressive though. I come within a few feet of a couple nests while mowing the lawn, but they just stay up there and chill.

Wasps.

Fly about, get in your face, land on you, sting you. Fuck them.

Spiders are cool. They just hang about and climb up walls. Don't cause any harm.

This thread even existing is outrageous. If you actually think spiders are somehow worse than the merciless flying demons known as wasps your entire life is a lie and you are dangerous to society. You are probably a wasp in disguise.

Boy, you haven't experienced pain until a wasp stings you and the stinger gets stuck in you and your mom has to dig it out with a needle. Happened to me when I was 8, and 20 years later, I'm terrified of them still.

Screw wasps.

We got this big guy camped outside our back door for the last couple weeks. He's longer than my index finger.

Already saw about 5 or 6 massive bugs he's caught. I named him Fred.
Writing spiders are awesome.

Wasps, they are harder to catch and a plain nuisance when in the yard. Had one in the house yesterday, I was upstairs and sounded like my wife was hammering, went to check and she was trying to take out a wasp with a rolled up catalog and had to beat it several times before it would die.

Spiders keep all the other bugs in check so they get a pass, as long as my wife doesn’t see them, then they meet the same fate as the aforementioned wasp.

Wasps essentially gate crash the UK summer, getting in everyone's face when you crack out some nice beer, wine, cider, and snacks. They also seem to make a b-line for me most of the time and at one point used to crawl on to my pillow occasionally when they lived in my parents attic/loft near my bedroom at the time. So fuck wasps

Spiders are chill as fuck and as long as they aint huge and decide to crawl across my bedroom floor when I'm just getting off to sleep they are welcome as it means I have no flies in my house. Hell I have a couple of them hanging out in the upper corners of my dining room which seem to keep insect populations in check and I don't plan to move them along because that room is about 8-9 foot high and they'll only come back straight away.

To echo what everyone else has said, wasps are giant assholes that serve basically no purpose in nature other than to be assholes. I personally hate spiders as well, but they at least have some kind of purpose (one of which is they can kill wasps). This is a case where I'm #TeamSpider

Spiders don't harass me when i'm sitting in the garden with a nice cool sugary drink like bastard wasps do, so yeah fuck wasps.

As a fellow completely normal human person, I heartily agree and am glad there are no posters on GAF who are spiders in disguise. If there was a GAF poster who was a spider in disguise, I'm sure he would have a reason and would be completely awesome and please don't raise that newspaper.
