Whats your favorite arcade game?

Outrun was probably my earliest memory.

Stand outs are MJ's Moonwalker, Golden Axe, TMNT, Daytona, Sega Rally, House of the Dead.. Just so many classics.

That is tough, my favourite experience was playing 8 player Daytona USA but I loved Sega Rally.

Ughhh Sega Rally 2 is my favourite...

WWF WrestleFest blew my wrestling loving mind when I was a kid, the big characters and colorful graphics, that awesome roster and everyone having signature/finishing moves... And it was all so fleeting. I played it one time, didn't have much money on me and it was gone when I came back a few weeks later. I was crushed.

A certain method used to play games some years later allowed me to play the shit out of it and it was just a pretty damn cool game for it's era. Certainly better than the Royal Rumble's and Raw's we got on the 16-bit systems.

It depends.

For playing alone, probably Outrun / Outrun 2 / Afterburner 2.

For playing with people, Time Crisis 2 or Metal Slug.

Oh.. Mortal Kombat, Sunset Riders, Turtles, Samurai Shodown, Tekken, Sega Rally and when i was in Greece on vacation they had this Operation Wolf cabinet that i spent a ridiculous amount of money on.

I spent more time playing Street Fighter II than anything else so I'd probably have to say that.

If I'm considering games that don't (and really can't) play the same on consoles I might say Ikari Warriors II or Forgotten Worlds.

As a kid, I once played Afterburner II in one of those crazy spinning ball contraptions. It was pretty awesome. I also really liked Chase HQ and would play the hell out of it every time I saw it.

As an adult, I like Ghost Squad. That faux MP5 just feels legit. This guy knows what I'm talking about.

First arcade games/nostalgia-glasses: Golden Axe/TMNT/Simpsons

Games I sought out & played religiously: SF2/SFA/SFA2/SFIII

I'll never forget the first time I saw Alpha down our local. <3

That Jurassic Park cab is definitely a cool experience. I only played it a few times, but I loved it.

Bubble Bobble is also up there. But yea, Metal Slug is still my answer. I've only played a real MVS cabinet once in my whole life (0_0) but that was enough.

Now I've got a consolized MVS.

Can't choose one among these games
Black Tiger by Capcom (followed by a lot of other Capcom arcades)
Sega's racers (Hang on, Super Hang on, Out Run, Power Drift)
Don Bluth Lasergames (Dragon's Lair 1&2, Space Ace)

But the missing piece of my heart is Buggy Boy, so beautiful and innovative for a 1985 racing game

Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 2

Played this religiously every Saturday night with my brother, cousins and friends while having some beer. I miss Arcade bars so much.

Best : Golden Axe : The Revenge of Death Adder
Runner up : X-Men : Children of the Atom

Those are the best I have personally played in a proper arcade machine.
