What's your favorite boring, non super sugary breakfast cereal?

Corn Chex is currently my favorite non-sugary cereal. Rice Chex and Wheat Chex are also good, but are somewhat too light and too dense respectively to be the best. Corn based cereal hits that nice middle ground.

Steel cut oats or if I'm really desperate quick oats will work in a pinch (but the texture is weird). I'll throw in a tiny bit of brown sugar and cream, maybe toasted ground flax if I have it, fresh blueberries, etc.

Boxed cereals I like Quaker Squares and Raisin Bran (yet hate raisins in general, go figure). Harvest Crunch is also great although there's enough honey in there I hesitate to call it non-sugary.

Cracklin Oat Bran

It has 15 grams of sugar. It's sugary as shit. Children's cereal has less sugar ffs.

I call it old people cereal.

Love that brand! I prefer Granola to Muesli but granola seems to have more sugars and other non-healthy stuff.

Their Muli Grain Squares are to die for

This stuff:

Just look at that price!

This stuff is just great.

Putting these on the to try list.

It even says it's the best on the box.

I love me some plain cornflakes.

I hated this crap so much as a kid.

I remember this lol.

Right now this is my goat cereal.

So fucking good.

Fiber One original sticks.

It's actually nice because I can mix it with my favorite sugary cereals for a more fibrous meal that still tastes great.

Though honestly, these days I can enjoy plain Fiber One, plain Bran Flakes, and plain GoLean cereals no problem. Over time I've become more sickened with overly-sweet cereals.

Pretty much ALL varieties of Cheerios suck. Too sugary, not a satisfying crunch, not fibrous enough. Honey Nut are okay; if I had to choose a favorite it'd be Apple Cinnamon. But really, no number of varieties can remedy Cheerios' mediocrity.

And am I the only one who finds the "sugaring" of raisins in Raisin Bran to be a bit silly? Raisins are already sweet.

I've been eating the shit out of this for the past 2 months. And I like it too. I wish I could find it in the states...

When I worked at Publix (grocery store in the southern US) I stocked a truck that had a bunch of organic and healthy products on it and I stocked this so it is available in the US just have to do a little digging.

Crackling Oat Bran is delicious, some cocoanut in there that makes it so delicious.

Honey Bunches of Oats (or its knock-offs) is a close runner-up.
Cracklin' Oat Bran is AMAZING. But it's full of sugar.

Prototip, do half a bowl of Cracklin' Oat Bran with half either plain Bran Flakes or Fiber One or even plain Mini Wheats. Something like that. You get a less sugary bowl of cereal that still tastes like Cracklin' Oat Bran.

Bran Cereal all day erry day. Non sugary cereal of the kings!

Mighty shitting ahoy! Everything just runs along very grandly, like it should~

Yeah I usually "water" both down with corn flakes or something.

Corn flakes are horrible. They fall in line with Cheerios and Rice Krispies and other bland cereals.

Bran Flakes, wheat flakes, whole grain flakes, all the way. Not to offend. I just think such things taste better and have a more satisfying crunch.

But seriously, mixing cereals is my new thing. Other examples of sugary cereals I love are a Golden Grahams and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. These days? Those are getting mixed, no doubt. They no longer satisfy on their own.

Well that's why I used "water" to describe the situation. They're not supposed to be tasty, they just nullify the more powerful cereal.

I eat cereal with almond milk these days and it makes everything taste good. I could probably eat cheerios these days, even.

It's cereal. It's going to be made of oats/corn/things with sugar.

Seriously. And it's not like this thread has to be about ONLY NO SUGAR CEREALS ONLY.

That's a pretty low bar you're setting. Less than 10g of sugar? That eliminates everything with fruit, honey, and plenty of other healthy additions to cereal.
This isn't a "lying to yourself that the cereal you're eating is healthy" thread, it's a thread for super boring, non sugary cereal.

Fuck that healthy shit. give me count chocula or give me a diabetes filled death
Healthiness is just one aspect. Cereal in general isn't even that healthy. It's just that the cereals you speak of, while tasty (depending on your tastes), aren't particularly hearty.

And I think "healthy" cereals, if we're even going to call them that, taste fantastic. It's not like I'm robbing myself of Count Chocolatey goodness, it's just that I no longer prefer those kinds of cereals in any way.

Looks like you and I found another commonality! I eat cereal primarily with Almond Milk these days as well.
