What's your favourite title screen music?

Metroid Prime by a long shot.

It's probably the most disappointing omission in the Metroid Prime Trilogy, replacing the great title screens with some generic grey shit with crappy music (or no music? I can't recall).

I saw the thread title and Metriod Prime's started playing in my head immediately.

I planned on picking up the trilogy on Wii U at some point, but this really bums me out. At least I'll always have my Gamecube copy.

I've been researching old Japanese computer games, and I've stumbled upon a few gems that are my favorites at the moment:

Star Cruiser (X68000). This version is good, but the PC-88 OPNA version is probably the best.

Bretonne Lais (X68000). I don't know what this song is called, but I like it.

Probably the one that has most impressed me are these two songs:

Originate the Strategy by Yourself / A Streak of Lightning Across the Time Herzog (Sharp X1).

It eclipses the intro from Herzog Zwei and makes it sound weak in comparison. Also love how the game tells you it's a new genre on the title screen.

Nerevar Rising, the main title song for Morrowind. It fits the tone of the game perfectly and it's so relaxing to listen to.

Man, that brought back some great memories. Thanks for posting.

But OP wins, Xenoblade's title music is simply fantastic and GOAT. Combine it with the Bionis day/night cycle and it's simply a perfect title screen. I have to go play it again now.

Sonic 2006 was pretty awful but man that title screen music was amazing!

I remain that while the game is awful, it's OST stands as an excellent example of good Sonic music.

Cliche' but MEGA MAN 2 and what's incredible is that I didn't even play the game until 3 or four years ago so no nostalgia whatsoever is attached to my preference, only its great catchyness

Then probably Metroid Prime 1, Dragon Quest IV DS, Advance Wars DOR...
