When does Justified get good?

Yeah, they really set up
Quarrels to be amazing
in Season 3, and just don't deliver. Pretty sad. Love that dude.

Mykelti Williams is pretty terrible, as well, but not nearly as bad as he was sleepwalking through that one season of 24. My god. That was some bottom tier TV acting.

God damn I loved Justified. Sure, the show gets a bit procedural at times, but the quality of the characters always brought it back to greatness for me. Boyd, Raylan. Dewey. Arlo. Duffy. Ava. Dickie. Mags. Winona. Tim. Rachel. Art. Limehouse. Amazing show.

Long story short. Don't give up on it.

When Quarles just up and kills that lawyer or whatever and his secretary after they did the single task he hired them for like it all ain't no thing. (Involving hiring that insane ice pick guy I think.) You're like oh shit, how is Raylan gonna deal with this dude.

And then like next thing I know Dewey Crowe's looking for his kidneys and Boyd is doing something and Limehouse is running like four different cons and Wynn Duffy is painting and I don't know what's going on as the plot piles up on itself. Season feels like you're on a bender. Even has a complete crashing come down of an ending.

I really liked Justified. If you don't like it by the end of Season 2 you should probably just quit. Have you seen Deadwood? Watch it and maybe that will help you like the main character better

This is actually why I watched it in the first place. I had watched that late and felt I still needed some more Timothy Olyphant lawmanning after being let down right as this was starting. Only later did I find out Elmore Leonard had anything to do with it. (And a writer on Hey Dude.)

Also, that intro song. It's so over the top and absurd I can't help but love it. And eventually, it just fits the show somehow. Which makes it even more strange and makes me love it more.

I love Dewey to death but that episode was mostly self-contained filler, it was produced to afford some scheduling flexibility as it could have been run in a couple different places in the airing order.

Holy shit, I totally forgot that long running side characters showed up so early in the series.

Wynn Duffy episode 8!

I would like to take this crime TV show thread and pimp Southland a bit. Goddamn was that show good. The entire last 1-2 seasons or so was just tip top television.

Did OP ever continue watching? I am watching The Spoil (season 2 episode 8) and man Margo Martindale just fucking kills it in every scene.

Maybe it's not for you. The writing does get more cohesive but the tone doesn't really change (which is a good thing). There's a certain light-heartedness to Elmore Leonard stuff that you could find "cutesy".

Maybe OP is lost out in the hollar.

Im like halfway into season 2. It's certainly better but not my style. I might even watch season 3 but it's not a show I'll need closure on
