when will rosalina get her own game?

Not upset about her being in Smash and MK8. Nintendo is running out of recognizable characters to put in those so it's natural she'd get a chance.

But for her to get her own game seems rather unnecessary. If Nintendo has a gameplay concept that only works with Rosalina as MC, that's fine, but I can't imagine what such a concept would be seeing that she's just another Mario princess.

I'm guessing this is your way to discredit this response, but if it's an accurate and truthful response it doesn't matter how often it's said, especially if the "Nintendo's Lightning" mantra is brought up just as often.
 
I don't see why she wouldn't. It's Nintendo. if Tingle and Yoshi can get their own game. I don't see why Rosalina won't. Heck, I bet Luma will get his/her own game.
 
Don't really care for Rosalina all that much but if she were to get her own game I'd love something like her control scheme in Smash Bros, with Luma replicating her moves from farther away and stuff.
 
Not sure why people want Rosalina to get a game, but seeing how Nintendo is shoving the character in every possible game, I will not be surprised if she gets one eventually.

Edit: To clarify, I do not dislike Rosalina.

I guess my confusion here comes from how is this more unnecessary than Luigi getting his own games when he's functionally very similar to Mario?

Or, do you actually feel it's also unnecessary that Luigi stars in his own titles instead of Mario's Mansion?

Haha no not really, I don't care about either character, I just like that it's what comes to a lot of people's mind as a reply.
 
Nintendo will heavily promote Rosalina with their next handheld as she will have surpassed Mario's popularity becoming Nintendo's key figure. Starting off with the production popular titles such as:

- Captain Rosalina: Star Tracker
- Rosalina's Cosmic Mansion
- Super Rosalina 3D Space
- Rosalina Gravity Kart
- Rosalina Country: Galactic Inferno
- Rosalinabound
- The Legend of Rosalina: A Luma between Dimensions
- StarCat Rosalina
- Rostroidalina

Day 1 for all of them.

Yoshi is far more recognized that Rosalina. Yoshi has been in countless Mario games, and is not that far behind Mario himself in terms of being an icon. Rosalina is just an NPC that was in a couple moderately selling games.

Tingle has a stand-out persona that lends itself to a game based on being bizarre. No one else is like Tingle, and no other character could have been in that game.

It could be done of course. But it would have to drastically change or advance her character, just as Luigi's Mansion did for Luigi. And considering Rosalina is minuscule in recognition compared to Luigi, it seems unlikely.
 
I'd like imagine Rosalina's game to be a cross between Madoka Magica and Asura's Wrath :3c

I don't understand the fandom behind Rosalina. It's like people becoming fans of Claptrap. They're just plot devices to stitch the story together. Maybe its because Ive only played a bit of Galaxy, but it seems like the obsession is overblown.
 
This would still be kind of acceptable, unlike a Waluigi game. At least Rosalina is somewhat of a character. While Waluigi is the equivalent of baby character- and metal reskins. Nintendo deserves to be shut down on the day that thing get's to be in his own, or another mainline game.

I think that part of he reason people don't consider Mario, Luigi and Peach overpushed (at least within their own franchise, the overexposure of the Mario franchise is another issue entirely) is because they've all been there since the first Super Mario Bros game, and it would feel wrong NOT to include them in a Mario game. Rosalina was only introduced about 6-7 years ago but recently she's been pushed up to being on the same level of importance as the aforementioned staple characters like she was always a part of that clique, and I think that kind of rubs people the wrong way because they don't feel like she was popular or important enough to deserve that level of publicity, and it doesn't help that her particular character doesn't really "click" with the standard Mario cast and only really worked in the context of Galaxy.

But furthering this notion, Mario and Donkey Kong were originally from the first Donkey Kong game.

Each character then got their own series in which they added new characters who weren't very developed at first, but were eventually developed more as time went on and they starred in additional games.

Eventually these characters started to star in their own games, which developed them further, and expanded what it means to actually play as them.

I don't understand what's different here outside of the fact that Rosalina is a notably newer character.

I don't mind Rosalina as a character, but the balance is off. We already have Peach.
They need to make a King character to balance off Rosalina.

Which other characters do you feel are getting notably short changed in this scenario?

Like Yoshi and Toad weren't in your list of most important games, but they're both about to get new retail games focused on them, which is more than Rosalina has.

Donkey Kong just had another title as well in which he also had a full extended cast of supporting characters.

All of the Bowser children were just added in to Mario Kart and also appears in NSMB U. I guess it's true they don't have their own game yet, though they are villains, which Nintendo (and honestly other publishers as well) often don't make the stars of their own games.
 
Rosalina stars in a platform game where you ride Waluigi as transport because he is an expendable, nothing person like Yoshis and Toads. Eject that fucker into pits to reach secret exits.
 
-Some sort of Nintendo made Sin&Punishment with Rosalina shooting star bits and using Lumas of various colors as power ups and satellites.

-A platformer with a Luma companion replicating your moves and/or playing like the cherry from 3dworld

-Rosalina's Style Savvy

The possibilities are endless!

Its a winning formula.

That character can actually not show the fuck up for several games strait and still be highly reuested and more popular than most characters

That character can also only be in. Twi episodes of a show and show up as mostly background for others, possibly a villian role once, before becoming good and still be have and insane section of that fanbase,

She got lost in space, separated from her mom, and found Luma, who was also separated from its mom, and they went searching for their moms and found a bunch of other Lumas and started a family. Or something, I don't know I was too bored to watch the whole thing lawlawlawlawl. Still, more of a backstory than anyone else U.U

Peach's backstory? She's a princess that gets captured a lot.
Mario's? He's a plumber.
Luigi? He's a been a bit more interesting lately with the whole frightened ghost fighter thing going on but before he was literally just a green copy of Mario.
 
Why do people like Rosalina so much? Serious question.

She had cute story in SMG, and she has a nice design, i guess, but is there something more i'm missing? People seem to go bananas everytime she's mentioned.
