Where is my Simpsons Arcade on XBLA damnit!

Where are the thousand other awesome arcade and old console games that haven't been put on XBLA? It's a joke. Instead we get PC shockwave flash games every week.

Considering the horrific quality of the recently released Tron games, maybe it's for the best these days. It's obvious no one seems to be able to adequately port or emulate 26 year old games anymore.

plz
It does play just fine on the 360 through Ninja Gaiden Black. Two player, even. But I assume you want online co-op.

Finally someone who appreciates that game for what it truly is. The Game Engine level is awesome. What does Will Wright say? "Gathering collectibles during a timed level? Does not compute"?:lol

this would be unbelievable with co-op online. Seriously this and x-men why don't they get on this? Everybody loves this game.

Dear Microsoft,

You add achievements, online play, leaderboards to "Simpsons Arcade". Put on XBLA. We give you monies.

it's okay. it's actually sort of disappointing when you really dig into the game how "unsimpsonsy" it is. from its wiki:

More contemporary fans of the show may be surprised, for example, to find that the game features such a large amount of "made up" characters (like the men in the purple suits), as many of the show's most popular supporting characters had not yet been introduced to the series. Also, in the gorge level, Sideshow Bob makes a quick appearance, but instead of trying to kill the Simpsons (even if you play as Bart), he drops a chicken that restores the player's health. Another oddity was Waylon Smithers as a villain; as the TV series became more established, he at most would get caught up in Mr. Burns' various plots, but generally was never out-and-out villainous.

those are all sort of minor quibbles, but some of the voices aren't nailed down (smithers doesn't sound like smithers, for example) and the locations don't always seem to have much to do with the simpsons so much as just being environments that are drawn in matt groening's style.

if it were made today with the same goals, i imagine there would be quite a few more appearances by famous spots from the series (springfield gorge, burns' casino, or--more basically--springfield elementary) and cameos by some of the more obscure joke characters (the mutated dog from last exit to springfield running around in the power plant, ken griffey junior with gigantic head dropping a tonic power up for you, etc.). i guess i'm saying that the game, as it exists, isn't really a great game for simpsons fans, and it could be much better today. not all of that is konami's fault, of course, as the finer points of the show weren't nailed down. but don't expect to be blown away by its fan service, because it's not there

Konami beat-em-ups were awful quarter munchers with little-to-no depth and a lot of cheap crap. They succeeded mostly just on the strength of their licenses.

not all of konami' Beat-em-ups were quarter munchers. I was a one-coin freak when I was young so I tried to beat almost everygame with one coin, the trick was NEVER to continue, always begin from the very start.

the games Crime fighters and TMNT: Turtles in Time were technically impossible to beat with one coin. In crime fighters, your "life" was like a clock running out of time, like gauntlet, so it was impossible to get through because the game was slow as hell. In Turtles in time, the farthest one could go was around 40% ~ 50% of the whole game, after that, it was like 40 footsoldiers on screen moving at x5 your speed. I once made it past the train stage after beating the crocodile guy with a single coin, that was it.

I did beat the simpsons game with one coin: 2 lives, normal difficulty (I guess). It was only possible with homer though. His spinning kick was crucial to beat multiple enemies with one attack.

the first TMNT was easily beatable with one coin. I didn't do it myself but had lots of friends that did. It only worked with Donatello, apparently.

I never cared of Xmen...

Seeing as how TMNT is one of the best selling XBLA games ever, Konami is just leaving money on the table by not finding a way to put X-Men and The Simpsons there.

Konami should have figured out how to do this as the Simpsons Movie was about to release. They can still cash in though as the Simpsons is still a property that sells and should do quite well at XBLA price points.

Something like that. This game is gold.

Yeah once the Game Engine level happens the game is pure awesome the rest of the way through. I think my favorite line from the game is from the announcer in the planetarium. "Saturn's rings are made up of thousands of ice particles, just like the heart of my ex-wife".
