Where's my current gen Army Men 3D?

I remember there being rather a lot of these games in the late psx-early ps2 era. I guess it is kind of odd that they haven't tried one lately - I think they burnt out on overexposure, but the brand has had plenty of time to cool down. They were quite popular, especially with boys age 6-12. I don't see why they wouldn't enjoy similar success today.

3DO went tits up and nobody snatched up this worthless license.

Not true, Global Star Software bought the license. They then finished and released Army Men: Sarge's War (2004, originally 3DO was going to publish it, before they died) and Army Men: Major Malfunction (2006, Xbox only in the US, also on PS2 in Europe). Oh, and a GC port of Army Men RTS in 2004, which had been released on PC and PS2 two years earlier by 3DO.

Some sites are listing DSI are publishing a game called "Army Men: Soldiers of Misfortune" this fall on the PS2, DS, and Wii, but there's absolutely no information about the game out there that I can find, if indeed it exists.

I hate to admit it, but I kinda liked the PS1 Army Mens >_>
I'm ashamed to admit that I did too. There was something about running around the christmas three as a little toy soldier.

Those were some of the most fun multiplayer battles my father and I had until Socom. We mainly played a single stage, I forget the name, but the memories are great. The original Army Men 3D, we both disliked Sarge's Heroes and anything else to come of the series.

I love these games, but then, I'm predisposed to love anything where you play as smothing very small in a large house-like environment.

was terrible.
can get it off of Amazon for less then $5, shipping included if you don't believe me.

Air Attack got so much play from me as a kid.

To this day my brother and I quote a line or two from it. Mainly "We're freeeeee" when you release the bugs in the picnic level.

What a game.

A quick search reveals that the ArmyMen series is now owned by 2KPlay, which is a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive.

If Take Two can bring back XCom in a successful way, maybe they can do the same for this series?
