Well as I read the title, Crash spun into my head. So i guess that's my answer.

PS1 was my first console and Crash one of my first games. My little sister and I spent a lot of time switching off in those games. Damn, I don't think about that period much, but now I realize how much I miss it.

Playstation is a iconic brand 90's to our day. It had multiple mascots, game characters that represented the brand

But what is the One you associate with Playstation immediately when you hear the word?
It doesnt matter if Sony owns IP/Character or not Just say one first character pops your mind

Kratos. Ever since the ps2 it's been him.

When I had the ps1 its been crash all over. Until kratos showed up... And the rest is history.

Sony don't have a strong Mario/Sonic type of mascot linked to their console. Their attempts to develop one have been terrible. Crash, Spyro, Toro, etc. are no where near as iconic as Mario or Sonic.
