Which console launch had the best games for you

For me I would have to go with the Sony Playstation, not that the games were that great It's just that I was In total awe at the jump from 16 bit. Actually the Saturn was a bit better just because of clockwork night and astal. Not only did they look good they played good. The Dreamcast also had good release games.

Game Boy Advance

> Castlevania
> Chu Chu Rocket
> F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
> Rayman Advance
> Super Mario Advance

I'd've included earthworm Jim if the controls weren't awful (R to attack)

Dreamcast

-SoulCalibur
-NFL 2K
-Sonic Adventure
-Powerstone

I even liked Ready 2 Rumble boxing for a bit.

That was a great launch in my eyes.

Ditto.

Hopefully the next-gen sonic game gets the series back on track because it has become a parody of itself at this point.

Same. Except I bought MK: Gold and Blue Stinger over NFL2K and Powerstone. My friends even today never let me forget that mistake. :lol

Hmm. Tough call. I'd have to go with either the SNES (Super Mario World, F-Zero, PilotWings) or N64 (Super Mario 64, PilotWings 64).

All console launches sucked, but the least sucky ones for me would be the ones with a game or two which actually stood the test of time for more than a single year.

So N64 had Mario 64, SNES Super Mario World, Dreamcast had Soul Calibur...and...

...I guess that's the only launches I can say didn't suck 100%.

Nintendo 64. Sure, it was only a couple games, but it was all about Mario 64 and for months, NOTHING ELSE MATTERED. The first time I played Bomb-Omb field was the most exciting and amazing moment I've had in gaming. Pilot Wings 64 was pretty cool as well.

The Dreamcast launch was stacked. If Mario 64 didn't have such an impact on me, that would be #1.

N64: Mario 64 and Pilotwings 64

SNES: Mario World, F-Zero, Pilotwings

Tough choice... Dreamcast is probably up there too, but I didn't get one at launch.

Xbox 360 because of Perfect Dark Zero. I seriously don't need another game. It has the depth of a game that would come out years into a console's cycle, and yet here it is.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with the PSP as well... Lumines, Wipeout Pure, Ridge Racer, and MGA all being great games (Lumines being the reason I bought it at launch). Not to mention it was handled pretty well, there were adequate supplies on the shelves so everybody who wanted one, had the chance to get them.

Also, I didn't buy the system at launch, but the US NES had a great launch... Mario 1 (best launch game ever), Wrecking Crew, Clu Clu Land, Gyromite and some more...

NES and N64.

Super Mario Brothers and Mario64 both blew my mind when I first played them. I can't say that of many games.

DC gets an honorable mention for having so many high quality games available at launch.

360 because of Live-enabled PDZ. If it wasn't online day one I'd probably say N64, though after I blew through SM64 I was left with nothing to play for a while. :/

SNES by far, between F-Zero, Super Mario World, and I believe Final Fantasy IV (II) was either at launch or like a month or so later the SNES just dominated me

for some reason I remember Castlevania IV either being at launch or close to it right?

Super NES - Mario World and Castlevania 4

Saturn - Panzer Dragoon and Virtua Fighter

Dreamcast - Virtua Fighter 3, Soul Calibur, and Sonic Adventure

Best launches.
