Which game have you purchased the most?

Metal Gear Solid:

Original on PSX,
as part of PS2 Essentials
Twin Snakes
PSN Store

I even have the PSP digital graphic novel

Diablo 2 - maybe 4 times before finally beeing able to register your keys.
HOMM3 - 3 times
PvZ - 3 times (iPad, iPhone and PC)
Fallout 2 - 3 times

It has to be MGS3, funny thing is I didn't purchase the original edition (can't remember why), was superhyped for Subsistence and bought it day 1, sadly my ps2's laser scratched my disc pretty badly, rendering a cutscene unplayable and unskipable
(just before the big jump prior to "fighting" the sorrow)
; so I got another copy of the same exact thing, then I bought the MGS HD Collection for PS3, and finally got the MGS HD Collection for my PS Vita, so that's 4 times...

Final Fantasy IV, let's count:
- As FF II on SNES.
- PS1 disc (twice: JP and US)
- WSC
- GBA
- NDS
- PSP (twice: UMD and PSN because Vita)

That's 8 times. :(

RE1 no contest for me. (And I still want the US saturn version).

[Super] Street Fighter IV.

Can't even count how many times I've purchased it, not to mention all of the arcade sticks, DLC, etc.

Not too sure, I have something like 2 pal and 1 jp copies of Sonic 1 on the megadrive.

This gen I would say Arkham Asylum, I own it on PC and Xbox, I might even have it on steam too would need to check.

Super Mario Bros.
for NES, SNES (in allstars), Wii VC, 3DS VC, GBC (DX),

I am certain I am missing some versions that own.

GTA Vice City - 2 times (PC and PS2)
GTA San Andreas - 2 times (PC and PS2)
GTA IV - 2 times (PC and PS3)
GTA IV Episodes - 2 times (PC and PS3)

Too many Final Fantasy games.

3 copies of Mass Effect 2, one on Steam, one on Origin, and a physical collector's edition.
I don't understand why anyone would do this.

I bought Gears of War about four times.

But I've never owned more than one copy at one time, that's kind of pointless.

hmm... I own Chrono Trigger on Snes, Virtual Console and DS. I miss only the ios port

I also own 3 ocarina of time I guess

I've bought Metal Gear Solid 3 seven times.

- PS2 Original
- PS2 Subsistance
- PS2 Essentials Collection
- PS3 HD Collection
- 360 HD Collection (download)
- Vita HD collection
- 3DS version

smash tv, bought it on commodore 64, snes, gamecube and xbox on midway arcade classics, xbox live arcade on old xbox, and twice on 360 as i changed gamertag, digital downloads suck

super mario bros. (4)

nes, game boy advance, wii vc, super mario all-stars on wii

i also have it for gbc, but that was a birthday gift. i have it on the 3ds, but that was an ambassadors dealy.

metal gear solid 3 (3)

snake eater, subsistence, essentials

Super Meat Boy and Deus Ex.
I bought copies for pretty much all my family and friends who had a Steam account.

Console-wise: Metal Gear Solid titles, Sonic Generations and Rayman Origins. (My 2011 GOTY)

Probably Final Fantasy 1 for me, bought:

- the Famicom version of FF1&2
- the PAL PSX version of FF Origins, sold that
- the US PSX version of FF Origins
- the PSP version
- the download version of the PSP version
- the PSN version of Origins
- the GBA version
- the VC NES version

I think that's it.

MGS Peace Walker: PSP US Limited Edition, PSP UK yellow cover version signed by Kojima, PS3 US MGS HD Collection LE, Xbox 360 UK MGS HD Collection LE.

Definitely Zelda Ocarina of Time.
N64 Original
GameCube Wind Waker Limited Edition Bonus Disc
GameCube Zelda Collector's Edition
Wii Virtual Console
3DS Remake

Waiting for the inevitable WiiU VC version.

Funny thing though: I don't even consider OoT to be the best in the series.

Uhm...don't know. Probably Resident Evil (on Saturn, PSX and the Rebirth on GC), followed by Resident 4 and 5 (GC/Wii - PS360) and MGS (PSX and Sneak Eater on GC).
Usually I don't buy more copies of the same game (I think that Metroid Trilogy for example is slightly different, right?)
