Which game protagonist would you most like to be?

If I'm being completely honest with myself...

Commander Shepard from the Mass Effect series. As a person that has a hard time even looking people in the eye let alone making small talk with people I see every day, it would be a dream come true to be able to chat up literally anyone I talk to. Having a dialogue wheel that tells me exactly (roughly) what to say, and which choice would be positive or negative in nature. I'd have built-in charisma and charm, and people would just open up their hearts to me. Also, I'd be a badass soldier with space magic.

Bayonetta or Dante, stylin' and having enough strength to fight gods and devils would be fun. I'd probably go with Bayo due to having that ass.

Alternatively I'd be Charlie Tunoku from Persona 4, just to have fun with those characters and to hook up my waifu Chie.

Okabe Rintarou. Yes, he goes through hell but in the end it's worth it to be with based Kurisu, Mayuri, Moeka, Rukako, Suzuha, Future Nae (Robotics;Notes) and Feyris <333

Hmm. It feels kinda weird to pick a non-human character, but probably Sonic the Hedgehog.

Lives in a super high-tech world with giant space stations, hoverboards and plenty of other fantastical locations/cool shit. So fast and powerful that he can afford to kick back and eat fast food every day without any worries, except for when he's busy being the hero... which is often a breeze anyway. Yeah, that sounds pretty good.

Guybrush Threepwood.
Who wouldn't want to be a pirate in a world with adventure game logic?
I mean, you can win swordfights with witty comebacks.

Understandably some of his character derives from how you play him, but I really liked how it seemed that Yu was one of those people that, while he could end up saving the world, never really made a big fuss about it. He's there when people need him and his friends seem as important to him as his destiny, if not more.

Also... he's the king.

Charlie Tunoku/Yu Narukami from Persona 4 easily.

Get some bombass friends, tons of girlfriends, and super powers inside the TV! And I'd totally bypass most of the tragedy in P4 by
showing Dojima I CAN GO INSIDE THE TV.

Plus I could bro out with Kanji/Troy Baker whenever.

If I had to choose, I'd probably pick Commander Shepard. That way, the "Let's bang, okey?" line would actually work,

The one who has the big breasted woman who wants to sleep with him. You know, the guy from video games.

Mario ... he's chubby yet so athletic, He can run for hours on end, leap over gigantic chasms, has legs made of steel/rubber so he fall/bounce from almost any height on character's heads or ground/metal ..etc.. Eats mushrooms all day, never works... so many cool adventures ... he kicks ass in Brawl ... for fun.
He skates on lava, has a flying hat, flying cape, penguin suit, spring suit, acorn suit, raccoon suit, drives cool karts, throws parties ...etc.
He's the ultimate hero, he can do most of what all these other dudes do and much more, and he doesn't need a gun for that ... yet he can use one in Melee, Brawl ...etc.

Main unit from Fire Emblem Awakening.
he meets some awesome people, travels around the world as the right hand man for a benevolent ruler of a kingdom, gets to meet his super talented future daughter, and gets all the honors that a hero that sacrificed his life would get without actually dying.

Nathan Drake for the adventuring, treasure finding and babe magnet.

Big Boss for non stop twists and turns life has to offer. I feel he has experienced the most wether it be for the best or worst, the man has lived through more than any man. Endured more than anyone should have to.

Nearly all the character people picked in this thread lives a sad and painful life. You guys are too hardcore.

It'd be a lot of fun being Ratchet, I think.

• Loads of fun weapons and tech
• Upbeat robot buddy
• Nice spaceship
• Travel opportunities to many exotic locales
• Comes from a cartoony universe, so can't/won't really ever die
• Several potential love interests available
• Mechanic/Engineering background, for when the planet-saving jobs dry up

If I had to choose I'd go for Agent York from Red Seed Profile / Deadly Premonition. He's such an odd ball but interesting at the same time.

If I'm being honest: none of them. My favorite games all put the protagonist through things if never want to do. As much as I love Castlevania or Bioshock or GTA, etc. I would never want to do what those guys do.

But for fun: Trainer from Pokemon because I've wanted Pokemon in real life since I was 9.
