MW1 > BO 1 > MW2 > BO2 >>>>>>>>>>>> MW3 = BO3
MW1 is the king. The best SP that felt grounded, serious and respectable, as opposed to the lifeless "Bro Gamer" celebrity crap COD has become. Multiplayer was the best, with fantastic map and SOUND design, great tradeoffs in the perks (no stupid lightweight + infinite sprint + dead silence that ruins the other games for me)...
Black Ops 1 was great, and felt like MW1 almost. Great map design, good TTK, good killstreaks.
MW2 had an even better co-op mode, and one that I wish they would do more of. It felt like bite sized SP missions.
MW2's MP was trash in balance. They really started an awful trend of low TTK, way too fast gameplay, and shitty, shitty balance. I can still tolerate it though, because it was mindless fun. Emphasis on mindless.
I didnt spend too much time with BO2, but I gave it a try just before BO3, and despite feeling more like an IW game, I enjoyed some of the maps.
MW3 was trash tier. Awful, and so forgettable.
BO3 is also just trash, and tries way too hard to be competitive with 3 lane map design that is awfully simplified. Such a shame Treyarch went this route considering the well designed BO1 maps. The hero stuff shows you how COD has lost its leadership and is now led by other games.
The hero stuff just also doesnt fit for me, and sure its fun, but its also ridiculous to have someone pop out an instant kill weapon, on top of killstreaks. I hated the wall running and double jumping, I hated the TTK, I hated the maps, and the game can go to hell with its loot system.
