Which Link is your favorite? *SPOILERS*

I will say this: Wii U Link is probably the best looking adult Link design Nintendo has ever done. He looks great.

Since Link has pretty much the same personality throughout his countless reincarnations (except maybe Wind Waker Link) it comes down to best design for me.

And so my winner would be Link from Twilight Princess. Regardless of whether you love or hate the game the overall design was pretty cool and a huge step in the right direction. I like all the details on Link's tunic, like the chainmail he's wearing underneath or the stitchings on his hat and tunic.

So yeah. TP Link > all other Links, at least in my opinion.
Oracle Link is a distant second.

Twilight Princess Link followed by Wind Waker Link.

Skyward Sword Link has a weird problem with his mouth.

Yeah, I really, really like his design. Going to withhold judgement until we see what he looks like in the first installment, though.

1st Wind Waker Link

2nd Twilight Princess Link

3rd Skyward Sword Link

At first, I wasn't impressed by Zelda's character design in Skyward Sword. However, she looks way better when she's shown in motion. She kind of reminds me a bit of Tetra in how youthful and playful she was.

Zelda looks fucking cute though.

I'll say that I didn't like her bangs too much. I grew mine out towards the end of high school to look more "adult", so that's probably why I felt that way.

But you know what? They work so well with her. She looks quite humble and natural, and it's probably to emphasize how playful she can be. It's growing on me, for sure. Far better in motion.

You are so right!

My heart nearly stopped when that GIF of her jumping down was first posted.

So adorable. I think I might die when I actually play the game.

It's a scientifically proven fact that Gravijah's opinion on this matter is wrong.

Not a bangs man, I see. :lol

See, when someone has bangs I either really love them or reallllly hate them. There is no middle. :( I think they would be much better if they were longer... and maybe a bit messier.

I'm not offended, I love the art I just get tired of people posting it all, "Remember how Zelda USED to look? This is how it's SUPPOSED to be." when they don't exactly understand the context of it. It isn't, by any means, meant to be an official representation of the Zelda games back in the day, no matter how cool it is. But this thread isn't necessarily about that (heck people could post fanart and I wouldn't care) but a lot of people are lead into believing it's a representation of Nintendo's glory days of some sort.
Oh no, no. I adore Terada's art, but I don't think it'd fit well with the Zelda universe as it is today (It works much better as a representation of the older zelda games where things could get a little more abstract). I didn't mean to imply any of that, it's just something I think about when threads like this pop up. Never realized it wasn't officially tied or anything, my bad. :)

Wind Waker Link forever.

I do quite like the "realistic" looking games design too. (At least the Wii U tech demo.) And Midna was pretty cool.

I'm..still not sold on the Skyward Sword Link. The official art looks good, but in game..

He just looks like such a smug asshole. :(

I like Wind Waker link.

TP link is too serious, Hero of Time Link is a bit dull, and the earlier Links aren't exciting enough.

I kind of wish they took less of TP Link's design with Skyward Sword's Link. At the very least, it'd be interesting to see where they'd go with a brand new design.

My favourite Link, art-wise, is still the Wind Waker design (also Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks). In-game I liked Wind Waker Link the most as well, he was just so expressive.

Oh how I love Wind Waker, think I need to replay it again. :D

Perhaps swept to the side? That's what I used to do before growing them out completely. Though I style my hair like this when I don't feel like straightening it in the morning.

Still... I don't think Zelda's bangs are that bad. They're really different, and they probably still look unnatural, but it seems to emphasize how kind, humble and playful she probably is. For once she doesn't look that regal (or even perhaps cold?), but rather a normal girl. But if it's any consolation, I'm still getting used to them too. Sometimes I like them and sometimes I don't like them.

I don't really think so. It's the lips, isn't it?

There's just something evocative about this artwork. Despite the fact that I don't profess to be a fan of anime, the early 90s anime design encapsulates the whimsical side of the best Zelda games without sacrificing the cohesiveness or grandeur of the world.

You opinion is so bad.

Hime-cut is the best cut, no questions.

I remember seeing this picture in my LA manual when I bought it as a kid 15 years ago, I was glued to it. I really felt like I was going on an adventure with my gameboy.

NOW YOU PLAY WITH POWER

Link to the Past Link has a nose? That's his chin.
No, obviously he's talking about when he swings a weapon or gets excited and puts on a big red clown nose for a second!

He probably though Agahnim's hat was his head, too :P

Skyward Link is rad and Skyward Zelda is a babe. I guess when it comes down to it I like two different Links equally.

ALttP Link because of his rad pink hair. I'd love to see one of the 3D Links with pink hair(never gonna happen I know)..

and of course...

link-ocarina-of-time.jpg

This is really the first thing that comes to mind when someone says Link. I always loved the art style during the Ocarina/Majora era, it was kinda creepy and to this day I've never seen another game in this style.

maybe when you do that Echoes thread.

Twilight Princess Link: “I saved the world from a devouring twilight and restored the light spirits!”

Wind Waker Link: “I helped the people begin new lives across the ocean after they lost Hyrule to darkness, then I rejuvenated the master sword by resurrecting the power of the ancient sages. Finally I sealed the king of evil underwater”

Four Sword Links: “Look at us! We’re four Links!”

Spirit Tracks Link: “Well I achieved... I stopped a few rather nasty trains, does that count for something?”

I really like it; it reminds me of the anime-style art from SNES RPGS, it has a really old-school look.

And WW Link represent.
