Which of the big platform games are you getting this year?

A Hat in Time and Yooka-Laylee I've already pre-ordered, and what Sega has shown of Sonic Mania is very encouraging. The Crash remakes I'll buy when they inevitably release on the PC, and Super Mario Odyssey I may pick up if/when it can played on the PC via an emulator as I've no intention of buying a Switch at this stage.

Edit: Oh, and I'm looking forward to the Voodoo Vince remaster.

Super Mario Odyssey and Sonic Mania for sure.

Yooka Laylee if it reviews well.

Literally nothing to be excited about when it comes to Sonic 2017. Maybe if they show something that interests me -- another Sonic Generations-esque game (maybe with unique levels instead of throwbacks) or a crack at Sonic Adventure 3 would be somewhat enticing. I'm not drinking Sonic kool-aid anymore, though. Burnt too many times to get excited at just a project announcement with a few indications of design goals. Sonic Mania's had plenty enough released to win me over, but Project Sonic 2017 hasn't got nearly enough yet.

If Yooka Laylee counts and it reviews well, then that.
Odyssey probably won't be for this year unless the Switch has a catastrophic launch and they do a panic price cut.

Yooka Laylee if it's good, although what i've seen didn't impress me much

My loyalty is to Crash.

Or rather, that's the only one I know I'll be interested in enough to buy without some kind of really good demo.

Crash Bandicoot is top priority, no way am I missing that. Sonic Mania probably after that, no real interest in the other Sonic game until I see what the heck it is. Mario Odyssey will be top prio if I buy Switch this year but that depends.

Yooka Laylee and the rest depend on reviews ect.

not a huge fan of platformers in general but Sonic Mania and Yooka-Laylee

open to Super Mario Odyssey at some point in the future(not this year) after I get a switch but that entirely depends on how it turns out

Yooka Laylee
Mario Odyssey if/when the Switch gets a big price cut

Those are the two that interest me the most, and Wooly World on the 3DS is a possibility too. I'm not sure on the Sonic games, everything after 3&K is too fast for me.

I'm going to buy:
- Yooka-Laylee
- Sonic Mania (if a physical version comes)
- Sonic 2017
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Yoshi's Woolly World 3DS port

And should Crash Bandicoot release on any dedicated game system other than PS4, then also Crash, even though it is only to show Activision that I want more Crash. I do not need remakes though, I have just played through all three PS1 Crashs.

Planning on picking up Super Mario Odyssey, Yooka-Laylee, and the Crash remasters.
And the third Donkey Kong game from Retro

Probably just Sonic Mania. I'm not a fan of 3D platforming in general outside of classic Tomb Raider style so the rest don't appeal.

Freedom Planet 2 also if that's out this year?

Microsoft - Sea of Thieves, Mass Effect, Destiny 2 (if it comes out)
Sony - Spider-Man (if it comes out)
Nintendo - Mario Kart/Splatoon/Zelda/Mario Universe

Everything else could wait till next year because I have a pretty good backlog.

Mainly Crash, and maybe Yooka.

I could care less about Sonic and I don't plan to buy a Switch anytime soon for Mario.

I'm far more interested in Yooka Laylee than Mario, Sonic, Crash and Donkey Kong. Maybe it's just that I feel like I've played them all to death over the last 25 years. If Mario Odyssey gets reviews in line with the Mario Galaxy games I'll check it out.

Actually, I'm playing the Shantae games at the moment and they have reignited my interest in the genre.

Crash Bandicoot Remastered and Sonic Mania. Love the PS1 Crash Bandicoots and Genesis Sonic games. Won't be owning a Switch, so no Mario.

Probably just Mario. Just not into platfomers much anymore.

I'll prolly get a switch this summer with sonic mania (excited for how crisp it will look on that screen!) then super Mario odyssey and if sonic 2017 is good, that. Need to see more before I know.

Yooka Laylee looks kind of dull to me so unless the final product gets rave reviews I'll probably skip that one. Crash has never really been my thing but I'll wait and see if that's good. Isn't there a voodoo Vince remake apparently in the works for xbone as well? Will likely go for that since I've heard good things.

Super Mario Odyssey
Yooka-Laylee
Sonic Mania

Those are my only locks so far. Prolly gonna get YL even if it has mixed reviews just to meet the characters and experience the silly humor and puns.

Microsoft - Sea of Thieves, Mass Effect, Destiny 2 (if it comes out)
Sony - Spider-Man (if it comes out)
Nintendo - Mario Kart/Splatoon/Zelda/Mario Universe

Everything else could wait till next year because I have a pretty good backlog.

OP is talking about platformers, isn't he?

i've already got the new mario and crash preordered. I rarely buy sonic and the yooka laylee always looked so empty so i think i'll pass on it, maybe. I'll get a hat in time whenever it comes out.

Platform games, like jump and run...
