X's exclusives seem more intriguing to me. Yveltal's design looks really badass, but we haven't had a non-draconic looking boxart mascot since RS, so Xerneas seems more appealing to me.

I'll probably get Y later since I want to play in both English and Japanese.

I thought Xerneas' antlers looked way too busy in the reveal trailer, but they look better in the actual game and artwork. Yveltal looks like a darker counterpart to Lugia with a weird tail the more I look at it. It left the better first impression on me though.

I never understood why people get both. I can't warrant paying another 40 dollars to trade with myself. If I had a partner or a sibling who also wanted it then I'd do it. I guess 2 save files is nice but usually when I play Pokemon one is enough.

Because that would have made Gyarados broken as Water resist ice and the dragon attack in gen 1 was Dragon Rage and it did a set 40 damage.

Well I get both as I have no-one to trade with and I like to reset my game often so I need a complete version to hold all the event Pokémon, held item and any Pokémon that plan to use in the new file.

Plus it also allows me to use Pokémon that I haven't used before.

What's the difference?

Some Pokémon can only be caught in one version and will need to be traded, for example Yveltal can only be found in Y whereas Xerneas can only be found in X.

Y, I was just deciding this on my Amazon Pre-order before coming onto NeoGAF.

I like Yveltal's design and so far I've gone, Red - Silver- Ruby - Diamond - White, so I thought I'd get the second version again. I'm hoping both legendaries will be available in game, they haven't done that in a while.
