Preordered at Gamestop. Got Black Kyurem. (Anyone in the US get White Kyurem? I haven't heard anybody in the US getting a different one, just that everyone in the UK got White Kyurem and no one got Black Kyurem)
I *thought* the special one came in a black or white capsule, but they handed me a plain one that looked like it was all scratched up. Kind of odd but I popped it open and there was Blackyurem. (which is great because he's the one I really wanted)
Seemed like the only problem Gamestop had was figuring out that the game was digital only. My guys at my local one were pretty nice, which is a far cry from the uninformed people I've had to deal with before.
I nabbed 2 extra and got Celebi and Darkrai. Not my favs but I won't complain until I buy some more and get physically angry over not getting muh Mewtwo.
Dunno if anyone answered those peeps pointing out that they look like origami or papercraft, but yeah..that's the idea. The first Rumble utilized the character models from My Pokemon Ranch (that awful, awful Pokemon storage "game" for the Wii)..or maybe it was vice versa? I liked the first, but never bothered to pick up Rumble Blast for 3DS.
Thus far, it's not bad. I'm having some fun and I'm pretty excited to try it out with some friends next time I have them over. Honestly, it's a bit annoying to have 3 CPUs with you (maybe there's a setting to turn them off?) because they get in the way or ruin one of your objectives. One CPU freaking chose Magikarp and I had to heal/get him revived like 4 times. Then I found you can manually select which character you want them to play.
The NFC figures have a power in the 200s range as far as I can see; nice for the beginning but I've found the 2 I had already underpowered in the third "chapter". Black Kyurem is a whopping 2570 (something like that) powered figure which pretty much blasts through the entire level and one hit KOs the boss figure....so I feel it kind of cheap, but convenient to return back to try and get all the Pokemon.
That's probably the biggest draw right now, trying to "befriend" all 659 figures. I wasn't that close in the original Rumble, and even now I'm only around 140 from the first 3 chapters. Yikes.
I think this'll probably satisfy my Pokemon appetite until XY comes out, if not solely to hunt down the NFC figures. To me it seems like a lot of people aren't interested/don't even know about it so I definitely believe these'll become a niche Pokemon collectible in the future.
