Which PS4 games without fully installing?

edit;
my bad - I mean installing for a long time before you're able to launch (and play) the game...eg Fallout is a no-no because it takes ages to install before I'm able to play...

.....

So here's the thing, I have a 1tb hybrid SSHD and I don't want to go slower and can't afford a 2tb SSD.

I wondered about deleting some of the disk based games as I know some games just work without having to wait for too long (maybe a small install of under around a minute is acceptable), is there a definitive list anywhere? I don't really want to delete all my disk based games and learn on a game by game basis lol

Thanks in advance :o)

As far as I know all games will install to the harddrive, however all games can be started in a couple of seconds/minutes. Unless it needs to be patched.

The amount of the time it takes to install the game doesnt mean it isnt installing everything. All games are fully installed and most of them take very short time (under a min) to install.

yeah, my bad - I meant installing for a long time before you're able to launch (and play) the game.

eg Fallout is a no-no because it takes ages to install

Uninstall games that don't require a patch to work. The installation is very quick (under a minute), but if the game is broken (or if you want to play online) you'll have to download a patch.

As far as Im aware you can put the disc for Fallout in and be playing it pretty much immediatly....

Almost all install times take place in the background during gameplay...

Cheers, you get what I mean - like I said, I know Fallout is an example of one that takes ages to install...

I think he means games you can start playing without waiting very long because it can finish the installation while you're playing and isnt dependent on having all or most of the data to begin.

Yeah, most games would work 'off the bat' unless online...that's something worth considering, so all online games need to be kept on the HDD...ta

Think Fallout 4 is one of the few games that requires a full install before you can play.

You can play Just Cause 3 pretty quickly, but you are restricted to "the island" (boom island?) until it completely installs.

Whenever I install a disc to my PS4 I always let it sit for ~30 minutes to fully install before starting it, just in case of any potential performance issues.

You should be able to play Fallout within 60 seconds of putting the disc in.

You can watch the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. videos while the game actually installs, but that whole thing takes 15 minutes. Similar situation with Destiny, but at least in FO you have something to actually watch.

No they don't. There's plenty games where I had to wait for it to fully install before playing.

I haven't seen any myself (other than digital games) but I dont' have a ton of third party games. Majority of games have gone from zero to playable sometime between inserting the disk and me sitting on the couch and picking up my controller.

yes, this is exactly what I mean, so far;

Keep digital copies and online games plus;
Fallout 4 - takes ages to instal before you can start

Some games install while you play.
All games do that.

I think (almost) all games will let you launch the game within a minute or two (I guess Fallout 4 might not), but some games will limit what you can do once you launch it.

Some of the games I have got recently did not let me into the several modes that I wanted to play, some for more than 30 minutes.

Arkham Knight, Uncharted Collection and COD: BO3 all would not let me into the actual game while it was installing.

I have hit my limit and don't have 30 mins to sit around before playing each game - hence the question being asked

My Fallout 4 disc day one was ready in less than 5min for sure, I really dont get what you are saying

So delete some games that you are done playing? It shouldn't matter how long it takes to reinstall. Do you play every game you own all the time?

I wonder why some people have to wait ages for FO4 to install? Me and my friends only had to wait for the initial 60 second install and we could start playing immediately afterwards.

Some of you seriously had to wait 15 mins?

Fallout 4 takes ~30mins, do a google if you don't believe me!
That's all well and good but for some of us it only had to install the first part of the game before we could play.

I even un installed and reinstalled the game on my PS4 and I had to wait around 1 minute before I could start playing. Same goes for my friends I asked who have FO4.

I just deleted and booted up my copy up, I really dont remember taking that long. lets see

EDIT: 15% in 2min, OP sure is not totally crazy, my bad man. Memory failled me

I guess Fallout and GTA like people said take longer than other games, cuz I buy most of it phisycal and they boot up pretty quick

The problem is I have kids use the PS4 too, each game is massive and a lot are digitally owned meaning to delete would take forever to download. I'm up to my 1gb limit so now each new game I'm having to decide which game(s) need to go...

I hate having to juggle my library. I shelled out for a 2tb hdd and switched it today, now i have about 300gb of shit to download lol.

Which games? I haven't run into any like this at this point.
I don't think many (any?) games require a full install on PS4. But recently several games did not lot me go into certain modes while it waited to install, despite the game being "Ready to Play".

Arkham Knight - It's been a while for this one but I know I couldn't start the story mode after I launched the game.

Uncharted Collection - Only the first game was available. Two and Three took longer to install, and installed one at a time. It took more than 15 minutes for both to be available after launching the game.

COD: BO3 - I couldn't play Zombies mode when I booted after launch as it still needed to be installed.

Huh? It took a half hour or more for it to install for me. It goes through all the SPEACIAL videos.

Really? That's a PITB, I'm currently playing through these games and on U2, so that's another that will have to stay on the HDD :(
