Which Wii U first party game would you like to see ported to Switch?

Which Wii U first party game would you want on Switch?

I'd purchase Mario 3D World on Switch. There's nothing else I want from the Wii, or at least, not ported in the same state as their existing Western releases.

SM3DW, Mario Maker and both of the Zelda HD remasters are on the top of my list of wants now.

So far the only ones I got were MK8, Pokken and Hyrule Warriors.

Star Fox Zero is just a good game and people need to remade the whole camera thing. I guess it's not worthy.

Tbh I’d rather have an HD port of the 3DS’ 3D Mario Land because it remains far superior to 3D world.

Can we please have a port of the ports. LOL

Without the second screen support, it would be a downgrade.

Most Switch versions of Wii U ports are downgrades from the Wii U version for this reason.

The worst is probably Breath of the Wild because they pulled all the 2 screen support the game was clearly designed around even from the Wii U version.

Pikmin 3. I owned it for the Wii U, but for whatever reason I just didn't play it. I can't remember if I didn't like it, or just didn't have time for it. But I would like to give it another shot, regardless of why I didn't when I bought it. Also another port I'd like on the Switch from the Wii U would be "the Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker HD", I know it's a port of a port but dammit I wanna play that game again!! Should never have sold my Wii U, feel like a dum-dum ever since.

Yep, even the Wii U version was downgraded because of the Switch.

I voted for Tokyo Mirage, but here again, it would be a downgrade since the Gamepad is heavily used. It replaces the phone of the main character, and you look at the gamepad just as if you were looking at your phone. It also has all the map and enemy information and is very easy to use for navigation.

Xenoblade Chronicles X would be complicated to port for the same reason. The gamepad is a true "management app" and it feels natural to simply look at the gamepad. It feels like you are simply looking at a tablet that the main character has on him to manage his resources, look at the maps etc...

It is news to on one that having two screens is great for RPGs anyway. DS proved long ago already. Wii U was a continuation of the concept.

These:

Paper Mario: Color Splash (Nintendo)
Super Mario 3D World (Nintendo)
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (Nintendo)

Pretty sure they'll port Mario 3D World though. Mario sells and they surely won't say no to money.

I want Ogre Battle 64.

I mean, Nintendo did publish it when it came out on the N64 originally (even though Atlus developed with Nintendo)...and it was re-released on the Wii U, so it's a legit pick...

...right? :messenger_beaming:

Title screen says Licensed to and Published by Atlus USA. Developer was Quest which was dissolved by Square Enix.

Mario Maker should count as a new game.

Seriously why hasn't this thing hit the Switch yet?
As long as they include a full set of new Nintendo-made levels, I'd agree. However, I guess it's not on Switch, because the Switch has no resistive touchscreen, which is the optimal way to control the level editor.

You can get capacitive-tipped pens, though.

What if Nintendo shipped the game with one inside? It would help justify a third port of the same title.

Tell that to Splatoon, damned game had it's best feature removed! Like Splatwoon while the change would certainly impact a large part of the game, at least the gameplay would not be impacted. I am confident a much more active userbase would be plenty of incentive for level creators to put in the extra effort that would be required.

Nintendo should be able to whip up a decent set of 1-4 through 8-4s without much trouble, at this point I think it's fair to expect that. Personally I'd be happier to have a better method for searching and sharing levels.

*Edit*

Hell, would it be unrealistic for Nintendo to go through user made levels and select a few that they could present as a cohesive world every month or so? Level creators would kill for the chance to get N to rep their stages, and players would love seeing the cream of the crop.

It's a case of "it's better than nothing". I have yet to use a capcitive pen that comes close to precision and speed of a resisitive one, but for the context of Mario Maker, they would suffice.

Honestly this I agree with. As a home console player I never had any of the portables after game boy color and any that don’t use the second screen very heavily I’d love to see ported to the switch. They could use the HD screen of the portable (and the TV) to arrange any second screen stuff where it would make sense.

At least then I’d feel pretty good about paying top dollar as they’d have to put in some decent pork work. It would coincide with a switch lite/mini and switch pro/plus rumors.

Now that the switch seems to work well enough and is home console enough for the west and portable enough for the east they can start to wind down the DS and go low-end and high-end sku.

Yep, even the Wii U version was downgraded because of the Switch.

Still the saddest thing about the WiiU is no proper Zelda that went all in on the distinctive things that made the WiiU special. Nintendo delights best when the gimmick of the hardware is tightly coupled to the software.

Kid Icarus Uprising: Remastered in HD

Could never get used to the controls on the 3DS. Dual analog and the Switch Pro controller could fix that

Though I have no idea how they would handle the map as well as the WiiU version, I really want Xenoblade X ported over. Having said that, I don't know if I am up to restarting that game from scratch, there isn't really an end to the thing if you start getting into the endgame shit.

I want new games, but I would definitely take every first party WiiU game that hasn't made it to the Switch yet to fill the gaps between the new games.

I suppose I am asking to have my cake and eat it too, but hey, wishful thinking and the like.

Wonderful 101 obviously. This game was so promising and enjoyable, sort of a new Viewtiful Joe but they didn't pursue because of...well Nintendo's and Wii U's failure

I think Super Mario Maker, Super Mario 3D World and Pikmin 3 should make their way this year alongside Wind Waker. They would be ports, which should be a quick turnaround for 2019.
