I see this, and all I can hear is "giggity giggity giggity giggity....."

Considering this entire thread has been shit up by gifs, is this site really any better from that standpoint?

The OP of all things had a burned GIF so I don't know what you were expecting. This thread was going to turned out this way either way.

You might have a leg to stand on (but not really, considering the subject matter) if shit like this just happens in this thread, but it doesn't so you don't.

Shit posting the FP followed by gifsx1000 has gotten so bad recently I just turn off images so I don't have to deal with it + slowing the board to a crawl every time I load a new page.

I think what he's saying is conversation on GAF doesn't just devolve into .gifs, shit posts and annoying lines meant to get an upvote to scratch that internet dickphoria. Beyond threads like this where there's very little to actually discuss, we have, you know, order.

Out of 168 replies 108 of them are either replying to the first post or replying to replies about the first post. Some kind of recent record.

How long did it take you to count them all?

Also, I'm replying to a reply about replies to a reply.

A couple minutes, wasn't that difficult. I feel like I'm missing some reference that makes it great, but then again it's an excuse to post gifs :p

In the last couple of years, Sony as a corporation is loosing money. They are in the restructuring phase, so they are scrambling hard toward being profitable again.

I know between all the Sony threads for a past few weeks, someone must have mentioned this but I'm still confused how one nation can threaten to nuke other nations, turn neighboring cities into sea of fire, calls other nation's president a whore and another nation's president a monkey threatening and insulting every country, bombing civilians, sinking naval ships, peddling drugs and counterfeit currency, and nobody knows wtf is going on in regards to their human rights, but somehow without real proof as to whether North Korea is the culprit, everyone is now ready to condemn NK?

There's a lot of "huh??" in your post.

But I'll just say that everyone who follows NK news before the hack would have no problem understanding that they would be outraged over this movie (defending the Kims is the modus operandi of what keeps their state intact), and would have the capability to do so (as a military centric nation, funding cyberwarfare capabilities is a no brainer - and as a mere entertainment company with a history of low security standards, Sony is a believable victim).

From everything I've heard..... you get the sense that NK almost want to gloat about the hack. It's not a "who, me? I'm innocent!" situation. It's a total win for them, but politicial sensibilities makes it so the top levels of their government can't come out and do a victory dance. Better to avoid accountability and act like this GoP attack is the result of a grassroots effort who also, for some reason, hate The Interview.

If you told me it was a false flag attack by Disney, I'd almost think you had a point ("get back the rights to Spider-Man!") But to those who leap to the "America said something! False flag attack! Building 7!" Y'all tend to know fuck all about NK politics and didn't even comment until the White House made a very late statement confirming what lay security analysts, NK analysts, and Sony analysts have said on their own. The White House basically walked in at a late hour and said "yup, I agree this spade is a spade" so to pretend like it's a big American deception is just pushing the intellectually lazy "conspiracy" button, IMO.

Trust me, no one on earth would go to the lengths as these hackers went through to pull a stunt like this just for "the lulz". This is the most sophisticated hack that has taken place on american soil in US history, so the ones that did it actually meant business.

North Korea is the only one who has continuously threatened with retaliation ever since this movie came to light some six months ago, and saw to it right to the end that Sony wouldn't release it. They succeeded.

I suggest that you read this, as it details how North Korea operates when it comes to cyberwarfare.

Most publicly leaked data and most publicized ≠ most sophisticated. Sony's server security was such that they were warned about it earlier but didn't lock things down effectively, let alone the treasure trove of unencrypted docs flying around the network. There have been juicy hacks from a technical pov but they never make it to the big news.

Are GIF replies really that funny to people?

I dunno man. I just found this thread, was skimming through and some of the gifs had me in tears.

And then I sobered up and read the first post and realized I didn't even find it funny in the first place.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well Conspiracy business is booming right now. All you gotta do is say something is a conspiracy and watch droves of people accept that as fact over actual evidence. Then profit.

Your move, North Korea.
