Going to hell and back is hardly a feat in the GoW games, you literally just climb out. The climb isn't even that far. Dante could probably jump it.

Demonbane is incredibly OP, if I remember correctly one of the abilities that it has is to summon itself from other dimensions. Every Demonbane that ever existed, that could exist, that never existed, and that never could exist.
Also, one of its forms became so massive that it popped the universe that it was in, and would destroy other universes by brushing against them.
So think Gurren Lagann and pump up the overpoweredness by 100.
It also summons infinite demon banes basically?

In gameplay terms, I think that if there was some sort of Mugen like engine where you could import a character and they played exactly as they would in their native game, Bayonetta would destroy anyone else.

Ganon has to at least be up there, since only 2 things can possibly kill him, and even then it never seems to do much good. It's like he's allergic to staying dead.

Mercer takes missiles to the face, tank shells to the face, gunfire to the face, gatling guns, grenades, various explosions, cruise missiles, thermobaric rounds, other mutants, a nuclear missile, and various bioweapons designed specifically to kill him without much trouble; if the game were closer to it's story, there wouldn't be a healthbar because you wouldn't need it. And then Heller still manages to kill him.
Still disappointed by 2. Prototype could have been the origin story of an elder god, an unstoppable bio mass with the experiences, thoughts, history, knowledge of everything it has absorbed.
I'll be nice and spoiler it just in case for anyone who hasn't yet finished Bioshock Infinite and Burial At Sea:
Elizabeth. Can open portals between realities and has omniscient knowledge. However of course, you only play as her with that power for about ten minutes which was a waste of potential.

The more I think about it the more this is the right answer, but it's purely situational. Kratos with no motivation personal enough I dunno but if you wrong Kratos, I don't give a fuck who you are, he will kill you, if you get his daughter involved he's gonna end your existence. The amazing thing is that yes you can kill him, but even if you do you can't sleep at night because you know he's coming back for you.
For a more definitive answer I'd pick beginning of God of War 2 Kratos. Dante, Bayonetta, Asura and the others can't step to that. Just no. He gave no fucks even while being depowered and having the collosus of Rhodes trying to kill him. Lord knows if he'd stayed true god mode.

I may be cheating with this but I think I'd go with the
from Majora's Mask. All bosses (or their phases) can be defeated in less than 10 seconds. Truly powerful, or overpowered, but I suppose that's why you literally get it as the last collectible. After that you're done with everything.

I don't think he kills Dante or Lucifer, Dante just didn't interested in playing ball anymore and offer his service while Lucifer battle was more like him testing the Demi Fiend power to see if he's worthy to march an army to kill YHVH aka God. That being said, based on Nocturne, it's no brainer that 'true demon ending' DemiFiend will wreck everything including Dante and Kratos.
This bastard right here. His powers are basically "I win and there's nothing you can do about it. The end."

Kirby is 8 inches tall and cannot suck up enemies that are larger than him (unless they're in a vulnerable state) He doesn't rank.

Laharl from the Disgaea series.
I'll second the numerous Sora and Demi-Fiend mentions. (Sora mostly has the gameplay chops as opposed to in-story reasons. Any difficulty below critical in Kingdom Hearts 2 aside from the extra bosses is pretty much a cakewalk once you start getting a good grasp of the game's controls and Sora's abilities.)
The party of Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 also deserve mention. In addition to being your standard god-killers (Handing Shiva, Vishnu, Set, Satan and Brahman their asses) they personally kill the Demi-Fiend with his entire party of demons (against all odds).

He can create anything. ANYTHING. And if having God, Batman, and Cthulhu under his control isn't enough for you, how about Giant Invincible Flying Robot Undead Unicorns? Got those too. Time machines, teleporters, space ships, nuclear weaponry, armies of zombies, he's got anything you can imagine. And he can use that notebook to alter himself and other existing things too.
If Maxwell wanted to he could make himself a Super Cyborg Wizard Maxwell and change Kratos into a Tiny Useless Paralyzed Nerd.
