at this very moment:

Naughty Dog
Rocksteady Games
Platinum Games
Bioware
Ubisoft Montreal
CAVE
Level 5

Blizzzard are my all-time favorite developer - and they're easily the most worthy of being put as my absolute favorite, as i've clocked over 3000 hours (most of those hours being from wow) across all their titles.

Also black isle and valve.

Treasure

They have made some of my favorite games, and even their more mediocre efforts are at least interesting to play. So many moments, from so many games, for so many console generations, makes this my favorite dev.

Naughty dog
Valve
Nintendo
Crytec
DICE

No way infinity ward will ever be on my list because they have no clue what balanced gameplay means.

A few, off the top of my head (certainly not a complete list by any stretch):

Grasshopper - Their games are generally rough around the edges, but they're actually inventive and interesting, which is far too rare in the industry.
From Software - They've created some of my favorite games and series, and they're pretty consistent in quality.
Intelligent Systems - I hope these guys never stop making great SRPGs.
Love-de-Lic - I can only hope I'll be able to play and enjoy every game they made someday. I list them as a favorite developer since the studios that resulted from its closing have made some of my favorite games.
Valve - I would love them forever just for Half-Life 1.
Sonic Team - Hahaha, just kidding.

And since you didn't specify if you meant development studios or individual game developers, I'll add:

Warren Spector - In addition to being at the center of some of my favorite games, he seems like a genuinely great guy.
Goichi Suda - He's one of the only developers that gives me reason to believe at least some games will interest me in 5-10 years.
Shigeru Miyamoto - Though of course some people overestimate the importance of his role in the creation of great Nintendo games, I still think it's apparent the man knows what he's doing when it comes to game design. I don't think much else needs to be said.
Tetsuya Nomura - Hahaha, just kidding.

Based on the criteria of buying anything a particular developer makes, my 3 are Treasure, Kojima Productions and Team Ico.

Those are definitely a very Japanese trio. Western developers are earning quite a name for themselves, developers like Naughty Dog and Infinity Ward comes to mind. I guess at this point in times, I'd also buy anything that Valve makes too.

Valve, Rockstar, Infinity Ward and Nintendo. Not original choices, but they're popular for good reason.

Naughty Dog are getting there after Uncharted 1 + 2...

Valve

Ubisoft (I realize they've stumbled this gen, but last gen they were easily my favorite developer: Splinter Cell, Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time, Beyond Good And Evil)

Nintendo (especially EAD Tokyo, Intelligent Systems, and Retro)

Capcom (RE4 alone is almost enough to qualify them)

Blizzard (up to Brood War, at least)

Ensemble Studios (up to Age Of Empires II)

Polyphony Digital (mainly for Kazunori Yamauchi)
Insomniac Games (such pleasant people)
Team Ico (mainly for Fumito Ueda)
Team Silent (mainly for Akira Yamaoka)
Kojima Pro (mainly for Hideo Kojima)
Criterion Games (they never failed)
Rockstar North (mainly for GTA)
Clover Studio (RIP)
Nintendo

Nintendo
Kojima Productions
Team Ico
Team Ninja

It's frustrating to think that Ninja Gaiden has been around for so long and I only got around to playing the games last year. Hoping to get my hands on a copy of Dead or Alive soon, too. :D

Inticreates
Insomniac Games
Naughty God
Nintendo EAD Tokyo
Blizzard
Valve
DICE
Sucker Punch
Free Radical/Crytek UK (Haze was a massive failure, but I'll never forget the awesomeness of the Timesplitters game, I hope that the TS franchise will come back one day :( )

and tons of others that I can't remember at the moment

  • Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. - I have been a fan of their games since I originally played Starcraft about eight years ago. The company has treated the consumer base very well and has provided great support for the games that it has produced over the years. Several of my favorite games from the company are Diablo 2, Starcraft and World of Warcraft.
  • Nintendo Co., Ltd. - I have been a huge fan of their games since the Nintendo Entertainment System was released. The company has produced many quality games and has done more to grow the video game industry than any other company has done. Several of my favorite games from the company are Elite Beats Agent, Metroid Prime, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Melee, The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Wii Sports.
  • Relic Entertainment - I have only been of fan of their games for the last two years. The company has made several awesome RTS games and I believe that the quality of these games are equal to the quality of games that are produced by Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. Several of my favorite games from the company are Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War 2.
  • Valve Corporation - I have been a huge fan of their games since I originally played Half-Life and Team Fortress Classic about ten or so years ago. The company has developed many high quality games throughout the years and the support that they have given to the community is second to none. Several of my favorite games from the company are Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Source, and Team Fortress 2. I also enjoy the Steam service that the company provides.
