Who gave Star Trek a 10/10?

Who gave Star Trek 10/10?

Star Trek Metacritic

Matt Lees of VideoGamer.com released this video, in light of the first 10/10 Metacritic user reviews on Star Trek and most mainstream review outlets not getting review copies until launch.

You might know VideoGamer.com from the video they released on Aliens Colonial Marines (What The Hell Happened to Aliens Colonial Marines?) that showed the differences from the E3 demo to the final game that got that game's makers into a lot of trouble.

He just wants to find out if these are not scam reviews from the publisher (Namco) or developer (Digital Extremes). He could just contact Metacritic about the IP addresses and see if they're all coming from the same place.

Who expected Metacritic drama for this game? :P

Do the people who type drivel like that actually think they're convincing anyone to purchase the game?
I think it's hilarious that some people feel the need to make sure that they get some things "on the record" just so we're all clear.

Sorry X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Chronicles of Riddick, and Spider Man 2, Star Trek is the only good movie licensed game.

Ahem

I don't followed this supposedly train-wreck closely, is this the publisher fault or the developer? Both?

I still don't know whether it's Gearbox or Sega fault for Alien.

Polygon gave it a 3 out of 10.
If they haven't changed it already...

I think this is a nice initiative. These score sites should clean up this user review mess. Not that I even care for reviews anymore. I just go online and watch a stream or YT video. Pre-orders are just silly.

Man even I knew not to go for a perfect score if I cheated in class tests in school, aim for 72-79 for a more convincing score.

I honestly doubt they're scam reviews from the publisher. Reading and several people specifically mention giving the game a ten because they thought it was a decent game but they were scoring it a ten in reaction to those that gave it a zero. I'd bet it has more to do with the community reacting to each other than anything to do with the publisher paying for user reviews.

Better than the idiotic war between Sony and Xbox fanboys that saw Uncharted 2, little Big Planet and Gears of War 2 get their meta scores destroyed.

Basically this. Internets.

Whilst I wouldn't be surprised if those were virals/trolls (it's happened before), user scores frequently have this 0/10 OR 10/10 problem. It generally evens out quickly enough, to the point that user scores are usually only a couple of points off my personal impressions, whereas the professional metacritic score is usually about 4 points off.

Nah man I'm pretty sure trekkies know when something is bad. It's not like you hear many kind words about voyager

Well, this is anecdotal evidence but...I know this one guy. He's a trekkie (I don't hold that against him) and not heavily into gaming, much less RPGs. Now, this guy bought into the Star Trek Online game, and purchased the lifetime subscription. I think everybody I knew saw that this game was headed for the space equivalent of a trainwreck except for him.

It ended with him playing the game for 4 days, and quitting after making pretty much no progress. I think he was debating asking for his money back, but I don't know what came out of that. Trekkies are a mystery to me still, lol.

True. But it also had the episode where they went past warp 10 and evolved into lizards. Take that as you will.

And please do not diss Dr. Beverly Crusher, tia

"Threshold" ... I think I'm going to pretend that episode never happened.

It reminded me of a TNG episode where everyone on the Enterprise devolved into animal creatures. Funny enough, it was the one episode Gates McFadden directed. Bev got acid in her face!

As far as the best doctor? McCoy without a doubt.

There are 92 people that gave The Walking Dead:Survival Instinct 4 or 5 stars on Amazon. Some people like these types of games. The license trump polish in terms of importance to them.

You forgot Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King :)

That game was fun.

Big star trek fan, but I probably wouldn't play this if I was paid to. Getting a big Walking Dead: Survival Instinct vibe from this. Very cheap cash-in of the franchise. I'm sure this is just for the movie that is about to come out.
