I think Canada actually mints our coins too.

But if we're adding specially minted coins...

I reckon our 1 dollar coin is pretty good as far as non-commemorative coins go:

Now post the 2 dollar! I can't say I like Australia's coins too much coming from Canada albeit the fact they don't have pennies(both don't now!). Notes are fresh though

Hong Kong coins are the worst, they feel so cheap and plastic-y.

The notes are kinda funky though, like Australian dollars. The $10 notes actually have a see through plastic window.

fasces lictoriae (the 'bunch of sticks with the axe' depicted on the coin) were a symbol of power and authority under the roman empire. much, much later it became the center symbol for the italian fascist movement ('the' fascism). however, that particular symbol has been used almost everywhere - fascination with the ancient roman empire is understandable. it must be noted though that the italian fascist movement was looked at from foreign governments with a sort of curiosity and enthusiasm back then and that coin has indeed a suspicious date.

Use of the Mercury Dime in the US predates Mussolini's rule in Italy, so I'd say that the use of fasces on the coin has everything to do with Roman iconography and nothing to do with a hinted government fascination with fascism. The symbol is apparently still considered acceptable enough that two fasces flank the Speaker's seat in Congress:

I'm honestly surprised that no one has ever tried to have them taken down for being "un-democratic" or some nonsense.

It looks like the astronaut has diarrhea and it's flowing into space.

Fully deserved to represent Ohio :(

I hate living here.

its the only currency worth a shit in this thread :p

:')

God save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble Queen,
God save the Queen:
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us:
God save the Queen.

O Lord, our God, arise,
Scatter her enemies,
And make them fall.
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
God save us all.

I know I'm in the minority but I don't like these at all. And a (huge) coin worth two pennies? That's pretty wasteful.

I have a toonie somewhere. I like that coin. It has a frickin' bear on it. And the queen of England for some wacky reason.

The only British coin I don't like is the 5p. Fiddly little bastard

The problem with Canadian coins is that we have a new "commemorative" circulation coin every few weeks.

At first it was cute, now it's annoying.
