I'm trying to understand how some of the macros work, anyone here uses macros in that program???

So im playing around with the macros, and im getting the hang of it, but there's some things that Im not quite understanding.

For example, when I'm trying to set up triggers, I notice the red color when I double click on a command.

I know what the green mean, as those are the buttons that must be pressed for what ever macro you set up to activate.

But im not sure what the red means.

A dev for the tool said:
"red means the condition MUST be false (IE button must NOT be pressed). This setup allows for an unlimited number of "modifiers" to be set up as it will allow a subset of commands to execute while not simultaneously triggering the primary set of commands."

But, im not sure how to use it in practice nor set up a macro to take use of it. The dev didn't explain how to use it, or show any examples.

Any of yall know how to use it???

I've tried playing around with it and was super fail at it.

All I want to be able to do is
uw0VxhE.jpg
= Action 1
uw0VxhE.jpg
+
mfxMSFl.jpg
= Action 2

But right now, what it does is
uw0VxhE.jpg
= Action 1
uw0VxhE.jpg
+
mfxMSFl.jpg
= Action 2 & Action 1

But the way the dev explained it, Im still at square 1.

So i'm just like.....man, let me just ask GAF, SOMEBODY has to know.

Change action 1 macro to green square and red R1.
hhmmm, tried that and now both actions is on triangle. I wonder if the game having a native command for the triangle is some how affecting the way the macro works. The game has native controller support.

So I was hoping for a way to over ride that with macros so I can have multiple button presses activating skills and shit.

But using those macros activate the macro and the native button press that the game assigned to that button.

Does that make any sense at all??? Could you understand what Im saying??? Shit is kinda hard to explain and shit.

Are you un-mapping the buttons from the mapping tab? For example, I have a profile set up for Dragon's Dogma, and that game supports DS4s natively. But since we are running Inputmapper in Exclusive Mode, the controller is seen as an XBOX controller. So there should not be any issue of double inputs. Make sure you are running in exclusive mode.

Take a look at my Dragon's Dogma profile and notice how I've unbounded the face buttons, and added them via macros.

L2 + Triangle = Num 1 (Can assign stamina items, health items, lantern, etc to these number keys)
L2 + Square = Num 2
L2 + Cross = Num 3
L2 + Circle = Num 4
L2 + L1 = Num 5

L2 + Left Dpad = Draw/sheathe weapon
PS Button = Save game

Touchpad Left Click = Toggle Hud (Requires an ENB mod that has F10 set as toggle HUD)

Ok, about that face buttons in the macros, A,B and such, why add the red triggers next to the buttons??? Why not just make them their own button, like square=X???

Green buttons = when button is pressed
Red buttons = when button is NOT pressed

Triangle (Green) + L2 (Red) = Action 1 (When Triangle is pressed, and L2 is NOT pressed)
Triangle (Green) + L2 (Green) = Action 2 (When Triangle is pressed, and L2 is pressed)

Now, if you don't add the red L2 to action 1, then when you do Action 2, both functions will execute (basic Triangle function, and your action 2 macro). By having a red L2 to Action 1, we are telling it to only execute this function when Triangle is pressed AND when L2 is NOT pressed. When L2 is pressed together with Triangle, then it should only execute Action 2.

I've tried both, but I actually prefer DS4Windows. It's just a little simpler and there are no ads / quotas (which are understandable, but still annoying). Now that it's fixed for Windows 10, I really have no complaints.

Either way, they are both good pieces of software, and touchpad macros on PC are amazing. They are perfect for games that you can't QUITE play perfectly with a gamepad. For example, I set the map and inventory buttons (m & i) to touch pad macros in the Witcher III - worked great and saved a lot of fooling around in menus.
