No sale here on Day 1 or otherwise unless they show something earth shattering at E3.
PS4 + PC + Wii U is all I will need.
PS4 + PC + Wii U is all I will need.
I will. same as ps4.
I am. Forza at launch will be sick.
No question, I'm in.
I will be
I wish only people buying it would post in here though... going to have to filter through more of the same negative posts
Depends on price and if I have the money at the time but I can see myself picking it up day one.
ForzaBox, Count me in.
Possibly. I need to make sure I can pay for my Fall semester first. After that, hell yeah.
I am. Hopefully a PS4 day one too
same. Assuming I can walk in and buy one.
*SIGH*
yyyeeeaaAAAASSSSS!!!!

This.
I am. PS4 as well.
I'm in. But I've been doing this all my life, so it's basically just out of habit.
Yup. Much as the reveal was awful, I can't resist new hardware on day one. Forza 5 will be enough for me at launch, although I'll also be buying a PS4 and my hype for it is infinitely higher.
same.
I will.
I have had no regrets but lots of fun with the original Xbox; the Xbox 360 and I expect they will certainly continue to improve with the Xbox One.
I will be there day one.
I will probably, yeah.
The event yesterday didn't really bother me beyond not showing the 15 promised games and 8 new IPs. Everything else I thought was fine.
My order is in... which will come as no surprise after I've been bounding around on GAF like an excited puppy all day
Day one for me.
Day one. Sorta pissed about no BC.
Yes. E3 can change if Day One or later. Bought my Xbox on Kinect release, far away from launch.
I'll be buying both day one. Can't wait for this gen to kick off.
Yes.
It will be my new media center and I'll also play games on it occasionally.
Day One. Both. So tired of the hate hate hate. I love loving things. VIDEOGAMES!
I am. I will also buy a PS4 as I am a gamer and want to play ALL exclusives. I am not bothered by the DRM issues. I just need to go on a rant here about everyone saying the DRM issues are not fair or they suck. I hear a lot of "I'll just upgrade my PC or buy a PS4".
Ok. I'm going to make this as easy as possible to follow.
1. We do NOT know that Sony is not going to follow a similar type of policy to used games.
2. MS has gone on record saying you WILL be able to trade in your used games.
3. Everyone is complaining that you might not be able to lend a friend a game. Well, truthfully, why as a developer and publisher, would I want you to do that? I understand it from a consumer level, but as a dev/publisher I would want everyone who plays the game to purchase it.
4. Stop saying you'll just go PC only. The DRM MS is proposing is very similar to what the PC games currently have and Steam are using. "Well, at least we can buy the games from many different outlets and the prices are competitive" True, but you still have to BUY it.
5 Let's be realistic about the PC market. If the games aren't cheap than most people don't buy it. They pirate it. The only exceptions are WOW, Diablo 3, SimCity(yes I know about the problems, but it sold VERY well). Guess what? All are some of the most profitable PC games and are ONLY ONLINE!
The one thing that I wish would happen, but probably won't is that if this works out to be the case going forward, sales would rise and the publishers could, in effect, charge less and gain more volume which would offset. That would be the way it works in an ideal world, but I can't see that happening.
The fact is we have not been told everything yet and rather than go crazy about things that have not been cleared up yet, let's wait until they have and we can make an INFORMED opinion. This goes for SONY too. E3 will be very important for both companies and it will be the deciding factor for most.
Day one with Forza and the Rare game.
Getting both at launch and will be watching the fanboy wars from the distance.
Yep getting it day 1 along with Battlefield 4, FIFA 14 & Watch Dogs.
Also going to try and get PS4 day 1 as well.
I haven't gotten a console at launch since the N64 so it's kinda exciting.
Day one. Skipped the 360 in favor of PS3, and found that I really didn't give a rats ass about any of Sony's franchises. Well the ones that showed up anyway; I'm looking at you Team ICO. But I found that I really missed Halo. A lot. Not making that mistake again. My hope is that they'll release the 360 Halo games on XBO in "HD" collections so I can catch up, without having to put money out for the 360 mini.
Amen!
I'll buy the X1 on day one and get the PS4 soon after. I love having each consoles exclusives and it seems like both are going to have a lot!
I either buy most of my games new at launch or months later when they go on sale. If I do buy a game used, it's a game I was on the fence about or had bad reviews and was interested in it. Hell, even then I still might buy it new after if I really liked it. I did that with Game of Thrones.

For me, this isn't about system wars or any of that bullshit. This is about the anti-consumer stuff Microsoft has put into the system. No more lending games to someone or just plain giving it away. You will have to go through Microsoft's marketplace in order to sell used games; no more going to GameStop or some other brick & mortar place to sell back a game. Games must be installed no matter what. A video camera that is always on and listening to you and needs to be plugged in the entire time. I can't do it. If it were completely digital, then maybe depending on the games. But if you have an actual disc, you should be able to do with it as you please.
Although this isn't a problem for me, others have bandwith caps and shitty internet.then buy only digital games from the marketplace?
As per the anti-consumer stuff, just wait until e3 to make sweeping decisions about the gaming universe. From GAF's perspective, it certainly looks like armagedden, but it's very possible that many of your issues have already been/are being addressed.
People like their privacy.Don't know what to say about the Kinect always on. Maybe it's a disconnect between me and the rest of gaming-gaf,
but while cooking food in the kitchen...yelling "xbox play radiohead" to get some background music sounds fucking awesome.
Thanks for reposting all those posts, I guess.
Gotta agree with pretty much all of this post. I was pretty down on the reveal after all the hate it got here on GAF, but after taking a step back and seeing all the Kinect 2 tech demos, I'm pretty excited again. E3 will be the real "make or break" moment for me.I'm in day one. My friends are all in day one and that's a big reason why I'm going Xbox One as well. Also, I like the Xbox exclusives more than the PS exclusives that are established (sans Uncharted). I also feel like Microsoft's got the money to lock up more exclusives and they have a good ability to change on the fly if something isn't working they way they thought it would. The PS3 not having party chat through the entire 8 years of this console generation tells me Sony is not good at changing in the way I need. Personally, I think that both consoles won't allow used games or rentals without an additional fee, and it's all but guaranteed that Sony will charge for online multiplayer this gen, so that's another wash for me.
Although a nice feature, a lot of people have MP3 players to do that.
If $400 with ample local storage (~250GB) then day One. Else I'll have to wait and see.
What kind of MP3 player hooks up to my surround sound and listens for me to tell it what to play? My iPhone 4 can kind of do that, except I have to hold a button down to get it to listen for voice control.
Supposed to be 500 GB hard drive. If $400 with ample local storage (~250GB) then day One. Else I'll have to wait and see.
If you want to do that, go ahead. It just seems superfluous to me.
Xbox One and PS4 day one. Just waiting for pre-orders to start.
I responded to you b/c you refuted a point someone made about how useful it would be to yell at the x1 to play some music from another room with 'oh well you can already do that with another device' - except there isn't one that I'm aware of(unless you count the ogKinect). But now it's just superfluous to control things with your voice, ok.
When I said that people had MP3 players for that, I meant that you have an MP3 player for that with earphones and whatnot.
That's like saying, "I have a thing that plays games. Why would I want a new thing that plays games?"

I'm also love steam, put my CDs on itunes, and have started collecting ultra-violet movies. None of what you listed bugs me at all.![]()

A lot of people think like that.
I can't believe I am having an argument about listening to music in a different room in a thread about an upcoming gaming system on a forum about gaming.
I said it was a nice feature, but I don't think it's a major selling point. It'll be hidden away underneath a bulletpoint next to the XBox's ability to play CDs. You see what I'm getting at? It's largely nothing. It's something that won't make or break the system, at all. It may seem awesome, but I'm willing to bet a lot of people won't be shouting at their XBox to play Radiohead while cooking in the kitchen. More power to him... and to you for wanting to listen to surround sound through your XBox from another room. I do it, too, but it wasn't something that I really needed.People are discussing features of an upcoming "all-in-one" box and you tried to shrug off one of it's features with a disingenuous statement, and follow it up with a clarifying statement - "oh well you already have an mp3 player that isn't hands free and you need headphones for". C'mon son.
I love all of those things, too, but I think you are misunderstanding me. If you bought a digital game, song, movie, or book, it makes sense that you can't go sell it or give it away because you don't have a physical copy. However, I have a ton of books, lots of movies, and a copious amount of games in physical media and if I want, I can give them all away or go sell them at the pawn shop. With X1, that wouldn't be possible even if I had the physical disc since installation is mandatory and they will make whoever obtains your copy of the disc pay for the game. That's what I mainly have a problem with. It's anti-consumer; you should be able to buy and sell used games or just plain give it away.I'm also love steam, put my CDs on itunes, and have started collecting ultra-violet movies. None of what you listed bugs me at all.
