Who is the best Zelda and why is it OoT?

People saying Skyward Sworld Zelda just want a waifu. OoT Zelda was the most interesting when it came to character and her motivations. Tetra is a close second.

My favorite design is Skyward Sword Zelda, but in terms of personality is probably Wind Waker, although when Tetra was revealed as Zelda she lost most of her personality.

Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS has the ideal Zelda design, in my eyes.

JoJo Zelda FTW design wise.

As much as I don't like Skyward Sword, I give personality to SS Zelda.

The minute she stops being a dude she gets kidnapped.

As of right now, the answer is clearly Spirit Tracks Zelda. She is fun and actually does stuff. Skyward Sword Zelda is in second place.

You must be confusing SS Zelda with someone else. SS Zelda has her own journey, actively manipulates link into becoming the chosen hero, then Actively participates in the final battle by holding the timeline together until link can finish off Ganon.

She's pretty great

As a huge fan of Wind Waker, sadly, it's not Wind Waker Zelda.

She would've been if she would just have kept being Tetra after the revelation that she is some royalty she never heard of before. Instead, she totally changes her character and completely stops being Tetra. the cheeky pirate captain and becomes Zelda, the dull princess,

Skyward Sword Zelda has the best relationship with Link - namely it's an established childhood friendship which puts real emotional stakes on the story.

Wind Waker Zelda (as Tetra) has the best character - she's involved from moment one and plays a significant role in bringing down Gannon.

Twilight Princess is the best visual design for Zelda - so regal and refined! She also plays a role in bringing down Ganon, but it felt to me like they were trying to retread Wind Waker in this regard.

Hyrule Warriors also has a great Zelda design. It's a bit more fanservice-y, but nearly all the characters in that game are designed to be particularly attractive, and Zelda's design has a great "battle princess" feel to it.

Breath of the Wind Zelda looks to have the best eyebrows, and a great adventuring outfit too!

What's your point? She gets kidnapped in pretty much every incarnation except I've never played spirit tracks so I don't know about that one. Its definitely a problem with the series and I wish for once they wouldn't pull that shit but Skyward Sword Zelda has cutsie damsel in distress reincarnation of a goddess bs written all over her. At least OoT Zelda held strong for 7 years and became a badass ninja and then a sage.

As a Zelda fan since the original game launched on NES (Still own both 30 years later) for me it is A Link Between Worlds hands down.

Everything about it from the gameplay, the 60fps motion, and especially the music is flawless.

OOT is not only the most overhyped Zelda game, but one of the most overhyped games of all times. Twilight Princess was the superior remake.

I dunno, I see the argument for Skyward Sword's Zelda because she had a significant role in it, but I didn't think she was the strongest.

Probably Tetra or OoT Zelda, even LttP Zelda. I'll say Tetra because she was present for most of the game and played a significant role in the end.

Spirit Tracks Zelda is the best imo. The only time Zelda travels with you and you can see how he feels about your adventure and what makes her scared. And you even use her gameplay-wise. The only time she really plays a huge role in saving the world alongside you and not just beeing the princess which needs to be saved (still kind of because she is a ghost, but that was really well done). Skyward Sword Zelda is pretty good too and would be in my Top3 alongside Tetra in WW. Tetra is cool as feck, but more feels like a complete different character. Still nice to do it like that at least in one game.

Funnily that SS and ST, who probably would be in my Top5 Zelda games which I don't like that much, have very strong Zeldas and both are 2 of the newer games too. Let's hope BotW will top that and will be amazing overall too :)

She's pretty much the same character, only she gets completely side-lined until the final battle.

And the Only reason OoT Zelda got captured was because Ganon discovered her when she revealed herself as the 7th sage and started sealing Ganon away in what was meant to be the moment of victory.

Thats way better then Captured hiding in an undersea castle doing nothing

How did Twilight Princess Zelda feel about Midna? She must have been pretty jealous about the hero liking the other princess more that time. She must have felt heartbroken when Link runs up that hill like a madman and is stunned by Midna's beauty lol.

Um, no? This is some ridiculous fan fiction. Zelda and Link barely have a relationship in this game as is. There's nothing romantic about their relationship. It's barely even platonic.

Skyward Sword Zelda is best Zelda. She has really cares about Link a lot and doesn't want harm to come to him.

She also creates a strong friendship with Impa and you get to see their time together when you're looking for her. That relationship is very well done.

Tetra treats you badly for no good reason a lot and at the end has magical change in personality (along with tanness) when she gets a dress.

Edit: Woops posted too soon.
On actual topic Wind Waker Zelda is the best. Her pirate personality is great. Although she does get kinda ruined in the end, but for most of the game she seemed very clever and funny.

I need to provide some context for what I'm about to say about OoT.

My first Zelda experience in life was Skyward Sword. Loved pretty much everything about it. Figured it was typical of the series outside of motion controls and excitedly bought Twilight Princess Wii at a full $60 at DragonCon. Found it tedious until halfway through (you're telling me run buttons, parkour, and stamina weren't standard until SS? Ahahaaa....), and the dark aesthetics, character emotion, and character designs were just really off-putting. Bought Wind Waker HD a few months ago. Loved it, just not as much as Skyward Sword. Got OoT because motherfuckers keep saying it's the greatest Zelda game of all time.

Haven't finished it, and unless my friend who was into Zelda before I was comes back over to guide me through it I doubt I ever will. Ignoring the fact that the standard Gamepad control mapping makes it unintuitive to play, as well as all of the mechanical conventions and graphical realities of the time, I just... I don't know. It's just a lot of tedious walking around and unstructured aimlessness so far. I'm at the part where I need to fish in order to give the Fish God some food so he'll open his fat mouth. I was never given any indication that I would've needed a rod or anything up to this point. And I went "You gotta be fucking kidding me."

But perhaps that's the point. Perhaps the point is to just hit roadblocks and figure all this shit out for yourself; fuck a linearity, it's an adventure. A real adventure would actually be like this. It wouldn't be as telegraphed as SS's. So perhaps I'm the problem. But that doesn't explain my excitement for Breath of the Wild and its "do whatever you want" structure. I actually want to jump into Breath of the Wild, because I have a sneaking suspicion that with the simplicity of movement, beacons, Zelda and the Old Man telling you where to go, I'll be able to maintain that sense of purpose and momentum in a world as large and open as what we've seen. But in OoT, it's just....

I don't fucking get it. Does it get better for newcomers like me? Like, does it pick up in pacing at all? Or am I really just an idiot?

No lies detected. SS Link and Zelda for best incarnations.

The game is mad mediocre and has been outclassed as a 3D game in many ways. You're not crazy.

Skyward Sword's Zelda reminded me too much of Luna from LUNAR. The revelation that she
was actually a reincarnated Hylia was kinda lame, IMO.
Then ascending to full waifu status, only to get kidnapped by the worst villain in the series...

OoT Zelda is best Zelda indeed. So good that she gave us not one but two Smash fighters.

Hyrule Warriors Zelda is also rather kickass, she has a higher bodycount than most Links! :)

Spirit Tracks Zelda is number 1 followed by Skyward Sword. I hated OoT Zelda's design so she's my least favorite of the bunch.

Hyrule Warriors babyyyyyyy got that Amazon Warrior Zelda plus a really cool Sheik design.

As far as canon TP Zelda has the best design, because you know...brunette.
