one has complete control over the light spectrum and the other an event horizon.

im guessing theres something im missing?

that doesn't mean they can't get an ass whooping. goku moves way faster than anybody on the ultimate team.

fight would be over quick quick

If you're looking across all timelines and sticking strictly to super heroes rather than all comic book characters, it's adult Franklin Richards. Reality warpers are virtually unbeatable and he's probably the strongest of them all (except Molecule Man, who's hardly a super hero...yeah he saved the multiverse but he was effectively manipulated into doing so by Doom).

pretty much, he is the Dr.Manhattan of the Marvel universe

Did anyone mention Black Bolt yet?
Black-Bolt-Marvel.jpg

Code:
Black Bolt has the ability to unleash great destructive power through the use of his voice, but even the slightest whisper will release his power.
Therefore, for the most part, he remains silent.
This "quasi-sonic" scream is powered by electron energy that he draws in from the environment.
At maximum the force is equal to that caused by the detonation of a nuclear weapon.
Other possible manifestations of this harnessed electron energy include electron energy blasts,
flight, enhanced strength (the "Master Blow" being a superhuman punch), ability to survive in space, and the ability to analyze and manipulate matter.
The fork-shaped antenna that Black Bolt has worn upon his brow since childhood enable him to channel his powers in more directed, less destructive ways.
Due to the fear of speaking while sleeping, Black Bolt practices a form of meditation, which may also help to enhance his abilities.

Too weak

how come franklin got owned in days of future past

Not the only time he's been ridiculously nerfed to make him writeable. It happens.

And I'd say adult Franklin Richards, like the one who has Galactus on a leash in the future, is a distinct character from DoFP Franklin anyway

This is hard because when characters get transcendentally powerful they also kind of transcend the idea of "hero" and move into "cosmic purpose" or something.

Can Flash vibrate his molecules so fast that he can become independent beings? aka occupy multiple points in space at once

Even George Reeves Superman did that

Isn't Sentry technically unbeatable because a part of him is tied to the nature of reality or something?

He did go toe-to-toe with the Molecule Man once. Technically he is a sort of limited reality warper. But he is limited as a hero by crippling mental illness. When he acts it's usually at the end of somebody else's leash.

So what he's saying is... he just pooped in the sand.

Yes I have read Watchmen.

I'm a BB fanboy, but nah. Just on Earth? He's up there. Put him on the cosmic tier? He's a qualifier. He did damage to Thanos. Like, busted his armor and made him bleed. That's more than most can say.

Sadly, Black Bolt is never really shown going all out a lot. Even in his fight against Vulcan (an Omega-class mutant who can manipulate all energy) he was holding back.

Super hero

Even Dr. Manhattan is really pushing the definition of super hero, no way Dark Phoenix is a super hero. The Phoenix is a cosmic force of creation and destruction.
Jean Grey as the Phoenix did go back and alter time. And can manipulate matter and energy on a molecular level.

At least, I think that's what she did. Fucking Morrison...

Most powerful and Who would win in a fight are two very different questions.

most powerful almost definitely needs to go to a reality warping character of some kind. Franklin is a great choice cause god damn that kids on some next level ish.
Manhattan aint bad at all either. Mr. M coulda been a contendah but was too tied to human/earth stuff. There are others for sure. Sentry. Molecule Man....

BUT - put anyone in any arena and tell them to fight The Flash to the death and unless they've got plot armor or simply can't die in any conventional sense... it's a nothing fight. He just rips your throat out before you can think of whatever crazy gnarly reality bending cool thing you wanna do. Or throws you into a time lightning storm or super tickles you or whatever he wants to do with all the free time in the world since he moves and thinks fast enough to try out a years worth of normal time ideas before you even realize the fight started.

Dudes broke af and it's awesome.

I like this answer a lot. Agreed on all points.

The Flash could not beat Dr Manhattan. He basically exists transcendent of time-space in mind, matter, and energy and freely manipulates it all to his will. The Flash is broke compared to most people but still technically works in sequence. Dr M is beyond cause and effect.

I'm fairly sure that the answer to this question is always Demonbane.

Like there's ridiculous, then there's the Flash, and then there's Demonbane. That thing is like the epitome of schoolyard powerlevel arguments.

"*insert OP character here* is the strongest in the world. It can do anything it wants with all of time and space, it's got the best intelligence ever and can react to and negate any attacks just because it wants to etc. etc." "Oh yeah?! Well Demonbane can do all that too! Times like 1000000000000!!! So there!"

The way they are written, specifically how much emphasis is put in making the reader understand their powers, has so much to do with it that even someone like Dream/Morpheus (or any or his siblings) who is a lot more powerful than Dr. Manhattan or Silver Surfer, just appears to be a magic guy with an imposing presence 90% of the time with little explanation of what he can actually do, so he never actually seems that much powerful at any moment.

the flashes are only as invincible if they can keep moving. sentry can eat all the shit a flash can throw at him while singing set adrift on memory bliss and if he can stop one, thats it for them

Hmmmm, good point. Sentry would be tough to beat in an arena fight because his reality warping powers allow him to reconstruct himself over and over again. So I guess he falls under the "can't die in a conventional sense" limitation Eppy conceded to.

(even though he eventually did)

And that's why I say it gets tricky because you go beyond "hero" to something else. Like Dr Manhattan seems to be a view to what humanity might be if they satiated all curiosity and need and lost all fear. What is left for them in living? That's Dr Manhattan. Not really a hero anymore.

I don't read comics (as reading is for nerds) so I only know about movies and it seems pretty clear it's Vision.

vision9-600x400.jpg

  • He is made of a superior poly-composite of that sweet Marvel Admantium
  • He has the intellect of a global computer and of a superior alien AI
  • He is charged by a Power Stone!

The entire MCU series is about the 4-5 power stones that need to be gathered before Thanos catches 'em all and Vision has one embedded in his head that grants him power. One of those things was able to blow up a planet in Guardians of the Galaxy and he is the walking embodiment of it.

There have been like eight movies about how dangerous and important the Power Stones are and the guy with the most advanced armor on Earth who can stop Thor's hammer is just walking around like he's one of the other b-listers?

They are called infinity stones and there are six of them.

Dude got bodied hard by
Scarlet Witch
in Civil War.

In MCU it's probably Thor or Hulk (both conveniently missing for CW because they'd mop the floor with the entire opposing team). Maybe Vision but he has his weaknesses.

because he wanted to die. which is his weakness. if you can somehow convince him to give up, he will

Even if you only watch the movies you should know he got shut down by Scarlet Witch with ease.

This is why I hate superspeed. Just imagine how horrible it would be to live out the entire age of the universe every time you blink.

The Flash would have committed suicide a fraction of a blink of an eye after getting his powers.

You'd also assume someone who would have been thinking that long would have the answers to all questions. He had more time to think than the whole of humanity, and is he any wiser from that ? Must have been reaaaaally stupid at core.

Why did they change it from Infinity Gems to Infinity Stones in the MCU?

That irks me.

As far as DC universe goes magical beings are easily at the very height of powerscale. Nothing else compares. Every other ultra powerful being still operates on some sort of physics rules, even if he can change them, while magic bypasses all causes, effects, rules and reason.

I've actually wondered about that. Does he, anywhere in any comic, actually perceive any event lasting less than an attosecond, or can we just write off this whole thing as bravado?

Also it makes no sense that he can think at the speed of light, but can perceive events occurring much much faster than he can think?
