Who is "The Studio" Behind the new SmashBros?

Is Amusement Vision out of question? They have people experienced in fighting games and already worked closely with Nintendo for F-Zero; also, they had a major title release last year if I'm not wrong (Yakuza)...

Kojima has been a huge fan of Super Smash. In the original trailer for boktai, the anime character is shown playing SSBM with the character Falcon.

We know its not EAD Tokyo, because they are doing Super Mario Galaxy.

I`m telling you, it`s Suda and Kojima`S project S!! :P

I'm still pulling for 8ing, they're pretty big these days (getting fat off TOMY/Naruto's success), partially owned by Hudson (good NCL ties there) and extremely underrated (Bloody Roar/Naruto >>> DOA/Tekken).

We know this. We're discussing which mysterious developer the 20 members are from. MassiveAttack is saying it's 8ing, but that's highly unlikely in light of today's news.

The people who are mentioning eighting or small development groups know this. But not the people who are mentioning Square-Enix and Kojima Productions :)

It can still technically be Eighting, Ganbarion, Genus Sonority, Camelot, Alpha Dream, Jupiter, NdCube, Ambrella. Some less likely than others based on certain news. However, this should be the guesses you make based on Nintendo's history. Not Square-Enix or Kojima Productions.

Oh man, Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4 is fucking incredible. Did 8ing make the Naruto Hero games for PS2?

So we will be expecting a WTF story to coincide with the gameplay?

Snake is link's father, and kirby is the leader of the heaven smiles. Fox is apart of the Lalelulelo, and Bowser bought a Metal Gear from Liquid Ocelot in order to take over the Mushroom kingdom.

Well, NdCube's last game was Cyberdrive Zoids and had been released in July 2003, I doubt they still develop anything.

Narutimett Hero is from Cyber Connect (.hack games).

I thought NdCube were finished and most of their staff went to Nintendo Tokyo.

And jarrod is off his rocker if he thinks GNT is better than Tekken. Maybe 1, 2 and 4 but that's it.

Hm ... maybe a studio form Capcom (the developer of the Zeldas for GBA?) ... or ... maybe a studio witch was bought from Nintendo a few weeks ago .... hm ... very interesting ... maybe Genius Snority?

Actually, you guys might be able to help me with something. Who developed Bleach GC? Sega were the publisher, but I've not seen anything about who made the game; the game is a pile of crap, so they can't be a very good team.

Chikako Yamakura, producer for Ganbarion, says she has "never seen an E3 with so many people smiling while playing games." She is excited about the WiiConnect service for the Nintendo Wii, and says "even if I weren't making games for it, I'd be most excited about the Wii."
so ganbarion is definitely developing game/s for wii. i wonder if this is a hint they're part of the smash bros brawl team?

what's so funny?

have the members of the team been announced or are you just being facetious?

ganbarion has been in the running as possibly part of 'the studio', ssbb's development team, since sakurai announced the project.

Ganbarion is developing One Piece Unlimited Adventure for Wii which was shown at E3.

Well... we do know one thing for sure, and that would be that whoever this nebulous extra studio is, whoever is left behind when this gigantic team is disbanded will make up the members of Sakurai's studio Sora... which can only mean good things, as these folks will have a great deal of experience making an awesome game. :)

i guessed as much. i'm also assuming they're developing jump super stars 2 for ds, but she says they're making games for wii, so i wondered if the infamous team sakurai was talking about could've been part of ganbarion.

the predominant theory at various sites, echoes this thread, suggesting it's either 8ing or ganbarion (along with new staff and some hal and ead members).

yeah, i'm sure at least some will.

iirc it's around 70 people and sakurai describes the team suggested to work on the game as 'the core'. if shikamaru ninja's comments earlier are correct i'd guess some will return to the teams they came from and others will go to sora, if the development runs smoothly.

does anyone know much about sakurai? i've read rumours he's hard to work with.

from the info available about him and his work with hal labs and mizuguchi's q entertainment, i get the same feeling. the japanese do have a different manner of speaking, but still, from his blog, he's an emotional/dramatic guy, aswell as a great games creator.

It can't be EAD Tokyo, their working on Mario Galaxy at the moment.

I really think the best choice is Ganbarion. Doesn't make sense for it to be IS, since they've been with Nintendo for a while.

Could this be a new team for future Nintendo Projects as well after SSBB?

Probably not. Nintendo usually disbands these all-star internal groups after the game is completed. This is how the original Mother was developed.

The lack constant mention of Camelot Software Planning is disturbing. Even after their great accomplishments with Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, and Golden Sun, here they are still remarkably underrated.

The Takahashi Brothers, President and Vice-President of Camelot, have in more than one occassion showed their joy of playing and making games. Sakurai's mention of the teams enthusiasm sounds very much like Camelot. The team resides in Tokyo and is composed of a rather small but incrediably competent group (they created my favorite RPG of all time so "competent" should be emphasized).

Look at the trailer, the set-up, art, and even the comedy (Wario); very Camelot like. It can really be anybody, but I'm surprised how nobody really mentions Camelot after the first post. They had an advert saying how they were hiring more people early last year for work on a next generation RPG, but times could have very well changed. The last big game the company finished working on was Mario Tennis: Power Tour which was released in Japan on September 2005, and here in America in December of 2005 for the Game Boy Advance.

While I'd rather Camelot continue work on that RPG, the idea of them working on Smash Bros. Brawl is rather attractive for me and promising. I'd personaly like a Motoi Sakuraba composed battle theme weaved in there somehere, along with Golden Sun character appearances. Well yeah, it could be Camelot, Eighting, Ganbarion, Alpha Dream, whoever. I find Camelot to be most likely, but it could be anybody. Time will hopefully tell.

It cant be camelot, I remember a Interview when Camelot said they were a small team. Arround the time people asked them what they were making besides Mario Tennis. You wont get 70 people from just, Sakurai some EAD folks and Camelot. My guess is HAL, they aren't doing anything at the moment. The Kirby NGC game wasn't at E3 so that one is most likely canceled. They are also familiar with the franchise.
